This is a very comfortable cottage in Mere which we have stayed in several times and meets all our needs.

Absolutely lovely little cottage. Had everything you need for your stay. We met the owner who made us feel very welcome. Great location. We took our grandson the see the festival of light at Longleat and then the Safari the following day. We would definitely book this lovely place again.

Amazing short stay at Helen's lovely cosy accomodation. Everything was provided in the accomodation, with nice added extra touches, milk, tea bags, coffee, sugar etc.
Mere is a great area with lots to explore nearby.
Thank you Helen

Located in a lovely village. We went for a lovely meal in a pub called the walnut tree which is a nice 15 minute walk.
The coach house is cosy and comfortable.A well equipped kitchen with the added perk of a coffee machine and frother.
Host Helen was very responsive to messages and gave us some helpful information about the local area.
We would definitely stay again.

We had a great time in the coach house. Helen was very welcoming and the property was even better than the impressions from the website. Everything was clean, the inventory was very complete and the house is very cosy on a rainy day.
We did a lot of great trips from Mere. Within 1.5 hours drive there is really a lot to discover.
I can really recommend this property.

A very good equipped house with a little garden. The small village of Mere is almost next to Stourhead House and Gardens. Even other attractions of the counties Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset are easy to reach.
Our host Helen was very friendly with a lot of recomandations for activities.

The house was comfortable and bigger than it looked from the photos. We enjoyed walking in the local area, with good walking routes provided, and visiting gardens, houses and towns.

Always a treat to be here. Helen has become a friend, we have been here so often. She is incredibly sweet and accommodating. My son has been unwell this time and she was so thoughtful. This is a lovely spot with so many walks right from the door, and places to shop and eat. Close to so many beautiful outings, too. Mere is a very special little town set in spectacular rural scenery. Stourhead, one of the national trust’s flagship properties is literally five minutes away. The cottage is very quiet and comfortable, cozy and cheerful. Very nice bath and all you need. I would definitely recommend it. Wonderful host. Oh, and I so appreciate the lovely bottle of red wine. Thank you Helen!

We enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Helen was very welcoming when we arrived and enthusiastic about our stay and where we wanted to visit. She gave plenty of time to tell us about Stourhead where we mentioned we wanted a visit to. She produced a map of this and the places she’d recommend etc. She let us know she was available if needed but also made sure we had everything we needed. We had a lovely stay and our children (as well as us!) enjoyed the house and the surrounding area.

We had a lovely weekend. The coach house was perfect for my family of 4 and a short distance to Longleat, the purpose of our weekend away. Also just a short walk to the supermarket/green grocer on the high street which was very convenient.

Helen was fantastic welcoming us with lots of local info. Beautiful village. Fantastic liver and bacon at the Butt of Sherry pub. Cosy cottage. Great country stay.

Pictures don’t do the property full justice. Lovely secluded garden next to the owners property. Fully private, with your own small garden. Fantastic views from the castle mound a short, steep walk from the property. Nice small historic town location with good pubs, shops and chippy! Finding the property was tough as the whole street uses names not numbers, and I wasn’t given a phone number by VBRO nor an accurate map. SatNav couldn’t locate either. Very narrow road with tricky exit at one end…best to leave the other way. Helen is great, friendly and helpful. Off street parking a bonus.

Cosy cottage
Peaceful and perfect location for visiting Stourhead. Good facilities, everything you would need in the small but well planned kitchen. Good to have a separate dining area.
Nice to have a bath but missed having a stand up shower.
We found the cottage a little too warm at times.
Good communication with our host who met us on arrival and gave helpful information.

We stayed here for 7 nights as a family with a 9 & 12 year old. Communication with Helen was brilliant from start to end. She called in just after we arrived and was really helpful and told us all about the area. The cottage is lovely, really comfortable, lots of character. Beds were really comfy. It had plenty of space for the 4 of us. Nice little garden with table & 4 chairs to sit out. It's in a nice quiet spot, but yet a couple of minutes walk from the village of Mere which is a lovely village, really nice place. Everything is within walking distance. We refilled the milk bottles at the 'sprout and flower' grocery shop, which is a brilliant idea. The staff are really friendly and if you go, buy a piece of chocolate cake; best ever! If you're going to travel, ignore sat nav and use a map and road signs. Sat nav will take you on some dodgy lanes. We did it once on the first day and learned!
In summary, we enjoyed every moment we spent in the Coach House.

We booked the coach house for a staycation as it had a perfect location enabling us to get to all of Dorset’s main points easily and we’re not disappointed!
Great pubs around (The George food was great!) aswell as a great fish and chips along with local shops meant all bases were covered.
The owner Helen was really helpful with giving advice on local points and really friendly and welcome.

Everything was just perfect for our 2 week stay. Helen, the owner, met us on our arrival and greeted us with a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge together with fresh milk. Everything we needed was there. The home itself is very comfy and cosy and the garden was just perfect. We spent many hours there.
The house is ideally situated for everything in the village and very well situated for access to A303.
