It was a great stay even though we only spent one evening here. The room was big and the private onsen bath is just so lovely on a cold day. The staff did not speak English but they tried hard to accommodate us. The in-room breakfast was exceptional. If anything, it's a bit of a distance from the train station, so would have to wait for the bus to come.

If you enjoy the traditional ryokan experience within a more modern hotel environment then this is the place for you. We stayed in the in-room onsen traditional tatami mat room where the staff serves meals in your room and not the hotel side which is separate. For the price, which is not cheap, you get impeccable service, kaiseki type dining that includes the freshest Izu seafood and multiple amenities. Most of the staff speaks limited English but try their hardest to communicate using google translate. They do have staff that can speak a moderate amount of English. Overall a very relaxing and pampered experience. If you have never stayed at a traditional ryokan I recommend making the splurge for a couple nights. The fact you get two kaiseki meals in room and all those special amenities really make up for the additional cost. They also provide a free shuttle to JR Ito station.
