Wundervolles Hotel ! Durchdachtes, nachhaltiges Konzept.

Every thing fabulous

Spa very nice, staff was very friendly and helpful, great location.
Quality of food rather mediocre, Thursday buffet very crowded and in general poor quality and variety of food ( not only Thursday unfortunately), far from the standard expected in similar hotels of similar price..
All the rest great but food was really disappointing.

it’s quiet amazing. you can see that everything was thought of. every detail in the hotel is great. the food is amazing and the staff are friendly and very helpful. there are a lot of tracks and trips around for hiking and bikes. the hotel even rents the bikes (electric). it was defiantly one of the best hotels I have been in (and I travel a lot). it has a home atmosphere to it. Cozy and warm.

Absolutely loved our short stay at Klosterhof. We had a suite (family of 4 plus dog) which was essentially a bedroom with a living room where the sofa bed was for the kids (12 year old twins). We had a balcony with stunning views of the Alps. The spa area was delightful and the pools a nice bonus. The food was amazing. We loved exploring and walked to Bad Reichenhall and got the cable car to Predigtstuhl. Not a fan of heights but views at the top were amazing. We ate at the restaurant there and it was delicious. We also drove to a car park (about 30 mins) where there is a cable car to the top of Untersberg. Even more breathtaking views! My daughter and I had our walking shoes and poles and walked down Reitstag. It had a very steep gradient and was hard on the legs. Took us nearly 4 hours. I wouldn't do it again as apart from the first hour when you're looking down on to Salzburg you spend most of the walk under the canopy of the forest and we literally saw noone so it was dark and a little bit uninspiring. It's very close to Salzburg which we had stayed in previous to our stay at Klosterhof. Lovely city full of charm and history (and plenty of Sound of Music gems).
Unfortunately due to the way Booking.com had this property listed, we booked the suite plus a double room as the suite only said suitable for three. On arrival it was clear the sofa bed was fine for my children. However the hotel would not refund us the room which we left untouched for the duration of our stay. It was a disappointing and expensive error which I will be taking up with Booking.com.
Whilst the majority of staff were super friendly and really engaging and chatty there was one lady who was a little bit grumpy and occasionally the restaurant looked short staffed and sadly it showed in a few faces.

basically everything, location, room (piece of art included!), food, friendly staff, wellness. We had a wedding in the area and we decided to extend our stay a bit longer so we started looking for a modern wellness hotel. This was the only one we found in the area and it was definitely the right decision, we will definitely come back again.
This is complaining at a very high level but it would be even bette for the massage experience to have a room with more ambient (lights, darker atmosphere, music) prepared before we entered the room to relax even faster. Besides speakers to play music in the room would top the already amazing panoramic room. the hotel asked for feedback and we shared the same as here, so curious to see if next time we visit they have incorporated it!

Wellness, staff, breakfasts were the highlights.
There were very hard beds. They have been new, modern, clean but probably the hardest version. Some people like it, but if you are rather fan of mid to soft bed, you gonna have hard time 😅

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, whose main aim seems to be to make guests feel at home. The room was beautiful, modern with respect for the alpine environment. Food was very good and excellent cocktails. Highly recommended!

Spacious rooms with excellent beds/mattresses. Great architecture with thoughtful focus on details. A place you feel immediately comfortable. Professional staff.
The bike garage could be bigger also considering the ebike boom.

Beautiful setting and view, amazing sauna landscape, great dining, very friendly and helpful staff. Great place if you want to really relax and give yourself a treat for a couple of days. The area is great for hiking and cycling, you will find some spectacular trails and breathtaking views. For culture Salzburg is only just half an hours drive away.
The navigation system cannot find the official address, so better ask directions at the hotel

We LOVED the view from every space of our room and the balcony was exquisite (even though it was raining too much to sit out there). We loved how private it felt and being able to walk out for fresh air and to feel closer to nature (and the amazing view) was perfect!! Our room was very large with additional seating and storage space. The bathroom was large and had everything we needed. The walk in shower was so roomy and being able to enjoy the view from the tub was pure perfection. I also liked being able to slide the divider shut for privacy if needed. We loved being able to enjoy the indoor pool and seating area while the rain fell outside. A perfect combination. We would definitely stay here again as they even made our 3 year old feel welcome (while he was clearly the only child in the resort this particular weekend). The meals were delicious and the staff were very friendly (and always smiling-even behind the mask!). We had to check out early on our last day and they sent us off with a picnic for our travels! A really exquisite weekend that we only wish we had been able to spend more time enjoying!!
That we did not have more time to enjoy the hikes around the area!

After so many cancelled plans this year, I really needed a relaxing holiday and I got it! The place is beautiful and the hotel is very comfortable.
My tips:
- If you can, make sure you are there for the Friday barbecue, it's totally worth it !
- The hike to Thumsee with Georg is a must!
- If you can afford the side with the balcony facing the mountains, do so. The other side it totally worthless. You will get a view to a huge telekom antenna which I am not a fan of. So I could not enjoy the balcony as I had planned.
- Make sure you have a drink at the library's balcony and enjoy the amazing view - I could not believe how empty that place was!
The staff was also very nice and kudos for working with a mask on even during the hottest days, I personally felt bad for them and don't agree with it, but I also understand the hotel's decision to comply with stupid regulation in order to open and the staff who needs to wear that useless thing to make a living.
If you believe masks make any difference and want to stay in a place full of disinfection stations, you will be happy.
Overall, I could not recommend this hotel more, gerne wieder!
Not things 'I didn't like', but observations and suggestions. The hotel was fantastic and I had a great time:
1) It would be nice is to have more group hikes organized by the hotel. Georg was a great hike leader and it would have been nice to have to have more like the ones to Thumsee.
2) I'm not sure whether the hotel means to be international, all the staff spoke great English, but all the signs in the hotel were only in German. I thought it was bizarre in a 4-star hotel, but you can also see that a lot in France, so it does not surprise me at all.
