This was our second visit to Kootney, which should say something. We really enjoyed the resort and the hosts. The TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a shower area big enough for a party, and friendly staff made our visit most enjoyable.

We had a neighbor who brought their dog. When they left for an outing they left the dog locked in the room (sometimes all day), who then howled and barked because it was lonely. It's wasn't too bad though, as the dog wore itself out after a while.

Everyone was very friendly and helpfull. Big cottage with all things needed. We would recommend kootney any day.

The beautiful nature location also come with a more isolated location. We would definitely recommend to rent a car to get around and see the beauty of the island.

The accommodation was fantastic. very spacious and well equipped. The porch was so lovely to share with geckos and bull finches and to see hummingbirds and more distantly parrots from. Lovely both in sunshine or rain showers. We didn’t have a car and it was possible to travel up and down the coast on the local busses. And at EC10 to Rousseau why wouldn’t you? Not quite so easy to get into the higher touristy destinations but then we didn’t have to contend with the crazy bus drivers! Thank you to Trish for having such an amazing place. we will be coming back!

One of the best and most memorable places we’ve gotten to stay at. We were two friends who absolutely fell in love with the resort. Trish the owner is nothing less than a gem who helped us tremendously with everything, and same goes for the lovely employees around. There’s such a friendly, cozy, family and lovely vibe all around where everyone greets each other and it’s located in such a lucious Nature-packed place. Could not possibly recommend this enough, and we’ll definitely make our way back!

We cannot say enough good things about Kootney resorts! Trish was an amazing host! We were greeted each morning by Miss Pinot - Trish's VERY well mannered and sweet doggy – as we enjoyed our tea and coffee out on the porch. Trish recommended a wonderful restaurant, Infinity, to have dinner, about a 10 minute walk from our cottage; which we were formally escorted to each night by Pinot. Most nights we would find Trish finishing up her dinner; and we would discuss our plans for the next day, in which she would give us valuable advice and information. We ended up making fast friends with Nerik, the owner of the restaurant. He, likewise, gave us lots of tips and names of people to ask for as we ventured out the next day. A grocery store is less than a mile away. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we could possibly need, so we could make breakfast every morning before setting out for that day's adventure, exploring the island. The cottage is cute, comfortable, clean, and cozy. The air-conditioning WORKS; which felt like a luxury on hot nights. The water was HOT and the water pressure was awesome. (These are the small pleasures that are not usually the case when traveling) We loved our stay at Kootney resorts. We wish we could stay longer; but next time we return to this beautiful island, we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Trish, we love you; and now consider you our friend. This cottage was amazing, in beautiful surroundings with plenty of birds flying around. Including hummingbirds and the rare parrot. Trish is THE BEST HOST We have ever met, we really felt at home, and so easy to contact whenever needed. (And her 2 lovely dogs aswell) It was even better and bigger than what the pictures indicate. Biggest 10/10 we have ever given (through 30+ countries)

Not a single thing to say bad about this place, only sad we only booked three nights here.

The cottage was exactly as I had hoped, set in beautiful gardens with fruit trees that you could pick and eat. The birds and lizards that came to visit us and Pino the dog who lived to lie on our verandah. The apartment itself is large enough that both couples had their own space when needed. Trish answered all our questions quickly before we had even arrived and was a fantastic help during our stay.

Not much to write about that I didnt like, the only downside was the hot water ran out quite quickly, but once reported to Trish a solution is being put in place to prevent it happening again

The property was modern and stylish but comfortable and very clean and had all the facilities we needed. (I was not surprised to hear that one local businessman actually does live there.) There were mosquito nets on the doors and windows and a rapid fan unit that cooled the room quickly. The bedroom had blackout blinds (the only place we stayed in the Caribbean that did). The bed and pillows were comfortable. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. The resort is close to the River Picard. The area is quiet and safe. The manager's office was on site, not far from our accommodation. The manager came round very quickly when I asked for advice on using the coffee maker. When we asked for a kettle, one was provided very quickly. Although the resort does not provide meals (this was made clear in advance), there is a good local restaurant/bar about ten minutes' walk away on the level, serving delicious local food at sensible prices.

No major problems. The property is about 20 minutes' walk from the coast and about 25 minutes' walk on the level from any facilities in the town of Portsmouth , though there are two restaurants about 10 minutes' walk from the resort.

Trish with her warm hospitality, de puppy dog and of course the river where you can refresh in the nature! The cottages are fine, clean and everything you need is available. W’ll be back!

WE ask for two rooms close one another a couple of weeks before and we were place at the two opposite places.

We liked everything: the comfort and space of the accommodation, the beautiful location and the warm welcome of the hosts. We regret not being young enough and fit enough to take greater advantage of the exceptional location, but the comfortable armchairs were ideal for reading and looking out for the rare parrots that passed by every evening. Lovely!!

The cottages were quiet, spacious and well equipped with everything that one could need. I was amazed by how much space there was and it was so comfortable. Nice location where the jungle meets the Picard suburb of Portsmouth.

The accomodation is absolutely amazing. In the Cottage you find everything you need, kitchen is full equipped. You have your own terrace with nice view into the garden. You can see there wild animals like lizards and hummingbirds. The Cottage is spacious and superclean. The accommodation is much more better then in the pictures. Walking distance to restaurants and beach. The host is very kind, helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
