It was an exceptional stay. We stayed there 3 nights; thought that after 7-8 days of a marathon in Iceland, it could be great stop over. I'm quite happy that we chose this place. Sikka & Prye sharing their extra 2 rooms with travelers. They are lovely couple living in the same premises for a long time. It was quite enjoyment when you listen their stories of farming, old times & winters. They are very welcoming & heartily people. My wife was a bit sick; they even made a soup for her.
About the accommodation; rooms are compact. Beds are comfy. The house is pretty clean & well maintained. Shower is also nice. The house has outdoor terrace & winter balcony which has great views at sunset. Breakfast is great.
If i visit North Iceland again, i'll definitely stay there.
There is an other guesthouse (Grimsstunga) very close by; people are mixing these 2 places a lot. There could be signs more visible. FYI reviewers; Blue/Black roof is Grimsstadir. Red roof one is Grimsstunga.

This is someone’s house, not a hotel, it is so lovely! The owners are extremely kind, and they welcome you in their own home, literally! The food is homemade for breakfast, and they have the biggest heart, very cute couple.

Nice owners, very good breakfast, but a good place for one night on the way.

We loved staying here for two nights. Nice hosts.
We were allowed to use the kitchen. We agreed on a time.
Thin wall to the adjacent guestroom. You might get unlucky with noisy guests.

A beautiful home into which the lovely lady welcomes you with a smile, shares her home products for a delicious fullfilling breakfast. Wonderfull clean bathroom, cosy warm room and beds. A great way to learn about life in Iceland through conversing with the host.

It was such a pleasure that Sigga and her husband let us in their home. They are really open and kind people who love to share, provide and meet travellers. It was really exciting to have a look how people live in Iceland, far away from towns and villages and to listen their stories about how they handle the tough and cold nordic winter days. We are really thankful for this amazing hospitality and also for the homemade breakfast.

This guesthouse is the house owned and lives in by Sergi and her husband. They both were so warm welcoming and took really good care of us. Our camera has some technical issues and the hosts provided us cables to fix the issue. The lady made the complete breakfast at home and served it with soo much love. The guesthouse is apparently closer to dettifoss but just a little inside drive required from main road to reach here. But believe me your stay will be worth it.

It was amazing! You feel very welcomed and it was nice to chat to the hosts and find out more about the life in the region.
There is also a breakfast included which is very rare for Iceland and it was delicious!
The house is very beautiful, surroundings are amazing. Recommend 200%!

Hosts were just lovely. Very kind and helpful people who made me feel at home.
The room was small but nice. The common areas were very comfy and well appointed. The bathroom was large and clean, but there was only one. (Not a problem for me since I was the only guest.)
Breakfast was fantastic, and made up partially of food baked, raised, or grown right on the property. Good coffee.
The view from the eating area was very pretty.
Location is a good place to stop before or after going to Selfoss and Dettifoss.
Off the beaten track a bit. Nothing nearby. It's also on gravel roads, which is good to know.

If you consider this accommodation for your trip: book it!
It was definitely the best accommodation in iceland we had! It's really in the middle of nowhere in a village with 3 citizens. Two of them own this house. They are a super friendly elderly couple who spent us a very warm welcome! We had a good chance to see northern lights and they were checking it for us every 30 min - and we had -15 degrees Celsius! Finally we saw the lights :)
We had breakfast with all self-made things and got a table in a wintergarden, which was really worth its name! We were sitting next to man-high snow with birds flying all around!
The two people showed us old pictures and books and were just super nice to us!
It was so nice to see the land life of iceland within an wonderful and lonely landscape. Once I come back to Iceland, I will visit this house again, for sure!
