The bed was very comfortable. The shower was hot and strong and perfect. The staff were friendly, approachable, available when I had a question, helpful.

The room was small. The description does let you know the size before booking. The bathroom is around the corner but doesn't have a door - bizarre!

Waiters kitchen staff. Breakfast was a dreadful experience. Slow and hardly any food we paid £16 × 4 people we had to continually ask for coffee, which was cold. We had to ask for the toast twice. One out the 4 had the table menu she asked for pastries there was only one left and she had a small bowl of fruit disgusting for the price we paid I expect service to be on point. Customer service was dreadful in the dining room. Other people were complaining to us as well about their service and offered us what they had left. Dreadful, never known anything like it

Location was fantastic - right by the river and close to the centre of Richmond with all its shops and restaurants, and an easy walk to Kew gardens. There's also a lovely walk along the river. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. I paid for parking which was well worth doing. My space was ready and labelled with my name. I was able to use the space after check-out until 3pm which was very useful. I thought the price paid was excellent value given the location and standard of the hotel. We will definitely return.

Lighting in the bedroom was very dim. Lighting in bathroom was excellent though. I couldn't find a hairdryer but luckily had brought my own. There was no milk for the tea/coffee. The coffee machine was good but some instant coffee sachets in addition would be a good idea. The bedroom was quite stuffy - it was difficult to see how to open the window due to the poor lighting, so will open it during daylight next time! Only small niggles, nothing to ruin our stay!

It’s an old building, so rooms are slightly lucky dip in terms of what you get. It all adds to the charm!
