We arrived late, stressed out from battling the Kampala traffic, which was horrendous. The staff greeted us eagerly and not only told us where our room was but escorted us there to ensure we were set up with the minimum of fuss. We had supper by the pool in a very relaxed atmosphere, which was just what we needed after a very stressful and challenging day. The staff were responsive and had a sense of humor, with nothing being too much trouble.

There was just one couch for four people but the other facilities were so good it didn't affect us. Why sit in a room when there are such relaxing areas by the pool.

Very interesting menu! The main host at reception was fantastic. It's in a Central location - everything close by. Spotless facilities. Quiet, relaxing and comfortable. I would return. In fact this may now be my goto place for short trips to kampala.

Very beautiful hotel, with unique and creative designs. The room was very comfortable for our family of four. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and they went out of our way to make our one-night stay feel like a holiday! The free breakfast was very filling, and the other meals were delicious, too. The pool was very clean, the beds were comfortable, there was plenty of hot water in the bathroom, and it was an overall peaceful, calm environment.

Improving their security during day would be advisable. We never had any problems, but my husband noticed that there was not a full-time day guard.

The Owner very friendly and invited me for dinner on my last day. The personal on the reception friendly and ever helpful if i had a question or need her help. The bed was big and i like hard mattresses. I come again.

Carol was an excellent receptionist she managed all our needs and addressed all our concerns in a timely and professional manner. The housekeeper (I forgot her name) has attention to detail

If Uganda is truly the "Pearl of Africa " then "Duomo Hotel and Suites" is surely the 'Pearl of Kampala '. I am so glad I found this gem of a place. I previously stayed at the so called ' up market ' Golf Course hotel when in Kampala. Hotel Duomo is half the daily rate of the ever increasingly costly Golf Course hotel ( its been increased again apparently because of the lifting of the curfew they told me ), and yet the Duomo is far superior from my experience.  Hotel Duomo has a friendly welcoming family atmosphere which is a joy to experience after the Golf Course hotel. From Carol on reception, Gloria and Gladys  in the bar and restaurant , Kenny the pool attendant and all the other staff ( who's names I can't all recall at the moment),  you are immediately made very welcome. They are more like friends than staff after just the first day or so. The staff at Golf Course hotel are not unfriendly, they're just not friendly either.  I got the impression they were always being watched after by their supervisors and appeared to be reluctant to converse with the Hotel clients or even smile back to them. Here in Hotel Duomo they take time to talk to you and have a laugh with you. The owner / boss Mr Lee has a very visible and hands on approach . Every day without fail he will greet you at some point to ask you how your day is and if there is anything he can do for you. He even helped me with an outside matter that was not connected with the Hotel. When you are sitting on your balcony you may feel you're on a Greek island paradise rather than the sprawling city of Kampala. The gardens in the grounds are beautifully maintained by the owners wife.  Your view will be of palm trees, exotic flowers and bushes,  a lovely crystal clear swimming pool and the surrounding appealing green hills and trees. The swimming pool is meticulously cleaned and maintained early every morning.

We got a free upgrade from a double room to a suite on check-in, which was convenient staying with a child. When having the windows closed, the rooms were quiet evenso the A/C unit. Staff was friendly, especially the lady at the reception was making sure we enjoyed our stay. The accommodation and facilities were very clean. The cleaning lady even cleaned some of our shoes! Equipment in the gym also clean and in a good condition. It was relaxing sitting on the balcony or in the seating area next to the pool.

Even though the free upgrade to a suite was appreciated, we realised that there was only A/C available in the master bedroom. Luckily it was quite cool during our stay. The beds were big, but the mattresses very hard and the pillows thin. The rooms felt not very cozy having nothing on the walls and having only bright lights. We found the food quality at the restaurant average.

I love the king size bed and the room in general, as well as the pool and the fitness centre, the waitresses in the morning were very helpful.

The attendant at reception asked me to pay more than the price offered on your website, and even if the reservation was for two persons, he also said that only one breakfast would be served at this rate. There was not hand or feet towel in the bathroom. The sauna was out of service. We could also hear the sound of mopping and staff work around 7-8am in the morning.

Food: very limited choice for dinner (Korean, but only fish dishes, one vegetarian dish, 2 pizza's). All meat dishes were finished. At breakfast no bread. There was no continental breakfast except for eggs, and limited fruit. On the second day cornflakes and coffee were finished at 8 AM. But a lot of Korean warm dishes. Beds were hard.
