Was too cold and even with the fire going it was hard to keep warm

Great location, extremely quiet. Good welcome from the lady that manages the keys.

Cold and damp. While central heating (oil fired) is available, this is at considerable extra expense, so not something we used much. The open fire was good, but only sufficient to heat the room where it is located. Unfortunately the back boiler only supplies hot water and cannot be used for the radiators. All fuel for the fire has to be obtained by the renter. As the catch on the fire door is broken and the insulating rope worn out and needing replacement, this leaves a gap at all times, meaning the the fire always burns hard and wastes fuel. Another key point that was not mentioned is that electricity requires feeding a coin meter, not many newly arrived guests will have a ready stock of Euro coins, especially in the days of contactless. We had to make a special 12KM round trip to the nearest town to obtain fuel and coins for the meter.

Bedrooms were a good size, the feral cats outdoors were sweet.

Had to plug the meter with coins to get the coined operated electricity to light the house, also additional cost for heat as we had to pay extra for the oil heating the house which was collected at the last day of our stay. None of this was mentioned in the Booking.com listing when I booked our stay.
