Well designed hotel, with rooms that felt bright and modern. We really liked the pool area, which had a good selection of beanbags and sun loungers to choose from. Also, the way the pool area had been laid out, it gets a good amount of afternoon sun, whilst also being protected from the worst of the wind when it picks up on the island.
Another highlight was breakfast, which had a good number of options, varying each day.
The staff were really helpful, and even managed to track down an ATV for us when we thought they were completely booked up across the island.
Coffee at breakfast (and in the room) is Nescafe, which I'm personally not a fan of. It would be great to have the option of filter coffee included with breakfast. You can get fresh coffee at breakfast, but there's an extra charge.
The room was a little small, and didn't have much storage. Given we were in Kalymnos on a climbing trip, and had a lot of gear with us, it was hard work to keep it tidy as there was hardly enough room to store clothes, let alone climbing gear.

Carian was the ideal place to stay in Kalymnos. Firstly It’s location is perfect, just about a hundred or metres away from the rows of restaurants and shops, it’s view of the most beautiful bay and coves and from its balconies one can see the Telendos island clearly.
Coming to the hotel itself, the pool and the views from the pool area are to die for, gorgeous blue-green waters while having breakfast and the view of the pool really hit the perfect holiday vibe.
The breakfast has really good variety - with a mix of Greek, classic eggs and toast with cereals type breakfast available. The fruits were the highlight of the breakfast.
The staff is absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful. It’s a family run business and the staff definitely give you that feel, you’ll feel looked after and listened to which is so nice. Maria and Yianni at breakfast and by the pool, Antonis at reception and Caliope who runs and owns the business are such warm and caring hosts. We spent time having drinks with them, learning more about the island and the culture. We are definitely going to head back to Carian.

The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was served outside and they had special dishes every morning. Excellent view from the terrace on the bay of Grikos. Room service at least three times a day.
We are planning a comeback next year.

This place was absolutely amazing!!!!! Exceeded my expectations. The place itself was stunning, the staff was so accommodating and the food was delicious!

Stayed at the hotel a few times pre pandemic, so knew what the hotel was like.
Somewhere along the way it’s lost something, the rooms are still very nice but the shower in our room was ridiculously small and the air con units in both rooms were noisy and like listening to a howling gale, I never remember them being that noisy. The breakfast used to have some local breads and delicacies but these seem to have gone and they used to have a guy on the bar making cocktails, again, not there anymore.

The view is exceptional and the staff very friendly and warmhearted. We felt very welcome and completely at home. Breakfast is delicious with a large choice of homemade dishes.

We had rooms / patio above us and scraping of chairs - moving tables was a bit annoying . Also could hear loud conversations from the hallway .

Very lovely and tasty breakfast, professional and helpful crew - receptionists, bartenders and cleaning staff, amazing views, new and clean furniture in the rooms and in the common areas, very tidy rooms, perfect hotel location, bar and food next to the swimming pool were excellent with a very caring staff.
Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have any soundproofing. We could hear everything that happened in the rooms next to us (speaking, sneezing, shouting etc.). It was quite uncomfortable and noisy, especially in the nighttime. However, the whole experience of everything else was so great, so it was not a big deal at this point.

Basically nothing other than a staff member named antonis. Fantastic worker and asset to the hotel.
Breakfast. We had the same items each day and the quality of the food was under par.
The rooms were never replenished with bottled water considering the tap water was excessively salty. Also the cleaning staff did the bare minimum.
The rooms should have an expresso machine not a kettle that barely heated up the water.
The sliding door had no fly wire screen which prohibited us to open the door for fresh air.
The pool area needs to be upgraded with toilets. In order to go to the toilet you had to go up 3 flights of stairs up to the hotel area. Very inconvenient and not thought out well.

The only downside was we didn't have a sea view.
I would have liked a little more wardrobe space but this is only a minor detail.

The location and the outdoor area is really beuatiful. The Hotel seems recently renovated with modern touch. Breakfast is great with an amazing terrace looking over the pool and the bay in front. The staff is also really nice and helpful!:) we liked this vacation very much.
Unfortunately the hotel seems not having invested much in the sound proofing system. The walls are everywhere very thin so you can hear everything from the corridor, when people shower, when they talk, everything. It made our sleeping really bad especially if you plan sleep over longer in the morning. Another bad thing is that some rooms are really small, our room wasnt a 4 star level but more likely a 3 stars hotel. A last note is the water, you wont find sweet water here, also in the bedroom shower is a bit salty and you feel how the towels have been ruined being washed by this water so heavy full of minerals. Overall there should be some improvements espeically for the noise.

The views are the best in Kalymnos, which is not an easy feat! The room is spacious and comfortable, the breakfast is delicious on a gorgeous terrace, the pool is perfect.
