Ocean Front Pool! 4BR house near village sleeps 10
Dies ist ein sehr einzigartiges Haus - es wurde 1935 an der Küste von St. Simon erbaut und sollte jahrzehntelang die Heimat eines verehrten US Navy Captain sein. Wir haben das Haus in 2017/2018 renoviert und es ist jetzt eines der markantesten Ferienhäuser am Strand der Insel.
Wir haben das Haus so gestaltet, dass es offen und komfortabel ist und den Meerblick maximiert. Es gibt ein paar Memoiren von Captain Carmichaels Marinekarriere im Haus, und das gesamte Dekor ist hell und offen - perfekt für ein paar Tage am Strand!
Die erste Etage ist als Ort konzipiert, an dem sich Ihre Familie vergnügen und den Strand genießen kann - ein offener Grundriss bietet von nahezu jedem Ort aus Blick auf den Strand - hinter dem Haus befindet sich eine Wand aus Fenstern mit Blick auf den Strand und die Insel Jekyll darüber hinaus. Vom Familienzimmer, der großen Küche und dem Esszimmer aus kann man den Strand sehen.
Die zweite Etage verfügt über 4 Schlafzimmer für bis zu 10 Personen:
Kapitänsquartier: Das Hauptschlafzimmer bietet Meerblick und verfügt über ein Kingsize-Bett, einen Flachbild-TV, ein eigenes Bad mit zwei Waschbecken und eine ebenerdige Dusche.
XO-Zimmer: Das "Executive Officer" -Zimmer bietet Meerblick und ein Kingsize-Bett.
Leutnantszimmer: Das dritte Schlafzimmer hat auch ein Kingsize-Bett und viel Tageslicht vom Boden bis zur Decke Fenster.
Mannschaftsquartiere: Das vierte Schlafzimmer wurde mit Blick auf die Kinder entworfen. Es verfügt über eine Reihe von Etagenbetten und zwei zusätzliche Einzelbetten in einem Loft über (Schlaf 4 "Crew" insgesamt).
Wie Sie auf unseren Fotos sehen werden, zieht sich das Haus direkt zum Meer zurück und Sie können durch unseren Hinterhof über die Felsen auf den Strandsand gehen. Dank der neueren Konstruktion der Eigentumswohnungen haben wir keinen Panoramablick auf das Meer von der Innenseite des Hauses aus, aber die Aussicht ist fantastisch, das Rauschen der Meereswellen ist so entspannend und das Aroma der salzigen Luft ist so nah am Wasser unverkennbar. Wir sind auch super bequem zum Zentrum der Stadt - dem Pier Village - wo sich die meisten Geschäfte und Restaurants befinden. Wir sind nur ein paar Blocks entfernt - ein gemütlicher Spaziergang zum Kaffee am Morgen, Abendessen oder Eis.
Der Pool am Meer ist wie keine andere Option auf St. Simons. Der Pool hat ein flaches und tiefes Ende (3, 5 Fuß flach, 6 Fuß tief) und die dem Meer zugewandte Seite hat ein Sonnendeck, auf dem sich 2 Liegestühle befinden, so dass Sie Ihre Füße im Poolwasser halten und die Sonne und die Aussicht genießen können. und Geräusche des Strandes, ohne den Hinterhof zu verlassen. Die Poolabmessungen betragen 11x32 (26 'Länge zum Schwimmen, 6' für das Sonnendeck).

We loved our stay at this beautiful house right on the beach. We especially loved having our own private pool and not having to worry about driving to the beach and dragging all of our chairs and umbrellas. The house was clean and just as it was in the pictures! We would definitely stay here again!

We were very happy with our stay. You can see the beach from the back, the pool was so nice and with the position of the house you were able to get sun and shade when it was too hot. The beach access was amazing especially if you have little kids. Our kids went back and forth from the beach to the pool. Beach walks were so easy from our house. The house is on the older side but beautiful. All of the beds were very comfy. The plumbing in one of the bathrooms was messed up but someone came out right away. The hose outside also was cut by the landscapers but was also replaced so quickly. We onl noticed a few issues but nothing would be a deal breaker at all. The cable cut out a lot (I know we are on vacation but we have kids who enjoy tv when the take a break from the heat).The loft upstairs was too hot to sleep in. You need to bring a fan up there with you. We had enough beds where we didnt need to sleep up there but the kids did want to. The pool was also very dirty after the landscapers came and the pool skimmer was dirty and made the pool worse. I would suggest a robotic pool cleaner.

I knew we were staying in a historic home, but I was under the impression that certain areas like the kitchen and bathrooms were somewhat recently remodeled. It looked like they were maybe 20 years ago. The pictures of the kitchen make it look way nicer than it actually is. The main floor furniture was all pretty dirty. Most of the bedroom doors barely shut, much less lock. On a positive note, my teen son and his cousins who visited thought the kid’s area and loft were wonderful. The main reason we chose this place was for it’s perfect location on the beach and close distance to the Village. The location is excellent.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time. The house was wonderful and had lots of interesting history. We wanted to stay in the pool the whole time :) it was wonderful. The owners provided everything we needed including beach towels and pool floats. We didn't want to leave! Would stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay and especially the location and being able to walk out the back door and be on the beach! Our family was thrilled with that as well as the location to the quaint downtown area. We would only recommend the Management Company be up to date on the specific items that were included in the house as we asked and bought lots of K-cups as we were told there was no traditional coffee pot but there were actually 2 there! I added to the inventory there when we left as we don't use those at home:) I was told there was no iron although there was an ironing board which seemed odd so I purchased a travel iron and low and behold there was one there. I will be returning.

We stayed here for a long weekend with our 3 teenagers. Loved being right on the beach and that we could walk to the Pier Village shops & restaurants so easily. The heated pool was great, too. Bathroom situation not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Would definitely stay here again!

Great View
The best thing this rental has going for it is the location on the beach. Great views and wonderful walks on the beach which are just outside the door.. The stars at night are amazing . VRBO is a ripoff. I paid hundred of dollars to them in fees when I could have rented directly from Lighthouse Management. The management company was great. They are quick to respond and go out of their way to make things right. I will never rent on VRBO again. Renter beware of VRBO fees.

Excellent location
House was clean and decorated beautifully. The location is excellent. The back door opens to the beach, and the Village (populated with restaurants and shops) is a quick 5-10 minute walk. I love the large windows with amazing ocean views.
It was perfect for a family as everyone could make their own choice for the day, e.g., spend time on the beach, swim in the pool, walk to the Village, etc.
Only point of note is all the properties are closely located on east beach, and this property is between two condos. The pool is lovely with amazing views but it is in view of the neighboring condos. That aspect didn’t bother us and didn’t impact us - but just noting it for future vacationers.

Great GA v FL Weekend
The property is very nice and the description is very accurate. We had 8 people in our group and we did not feel cramped for space at all. The kitchen is very spacious and we enjoyed the amenities. The village is a very short walk away and the beach is at your back door.

Great location!
We loved our stay here! Loved being able to wake up and see the beach from the house windows. The house was very cute and cozy. The kitchen was great for cooking and spacious for hanging out. Being on the beach made sunrise and sunset walks easy and fun! The pool was used a lot more than I expected especially with a baby. Very close (walking distance) to restaurants and shopping. We loved the house and our stay.

Perfect Family Beach Vacation
This property was even better than pictures. It was the perfect family beach vacation house. The decor was so cute! My sons loved the submarine themed loft. The pool was perfect and beach access was SO easy (super important with 3 young kids). The cleaning crew they have is 100 because the house was spotless when we arrived. Walking into town for dinner was such a plus. 5 stars and we plan to return.

Perfect location in St Simon's
We loved our long weekend celebrating a big birthday in St Simon's. This beautiful home gave everyone space to spread out and space to be together. An easy stroll to shopping and amazing food. The rest of the island was fun to explore on our rental bikes. But best of all, with pool and beach just outside the door we didn't have to travel at all for good chats and afternoon naps. The house and property are exactly as described and one of our all time favorite VRBOs.

A few days at the beach
The house was beautifully renovated inside; a great open plan space downstairs and nice bathrooms upstairs.
The pool was warm (heated) and clean. There was no option at booking to include the pool heating so this was a little of a last minute change which could have been smoother.
Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend this place, there were only two issues.
1. The thermostat was turned off and locked when we arrived and we had to contact the owners to turn it on, so the first night was excruciatingly hot.
2. The fire alarm system was faulty which caused it to sound at about 1am while we were all trying to sleep. We had no way of turning it off and no one from the property was answering the phone (understandable at 01:15am).

Perfect spring break
We had a very relaxing week at the property. It was clean and spacious. The pool was warm and the views and location were unbeatable. We will definitely be coming back again. Restaurants and shopping were within walking distance. We can’t wait to come back!

Excellent location, beach access and private pool were outstanding, house needs repairs
The house had nice finishes and upgrades, but many things were in disrepair. Couch covers needed a wash. Coffee machine didn't work, pots were all burnt and well-worn, bedroom doors didn't close/lock, the main turn-off was the flooring. It was very worn and made constant noise when walking on. The entry way and front door to the house were very uninviting and unappealing (worn and dirty).

Wonderful week!
Waterscape is a dream vacation property for families, especially those with young children. Everyone in our family had a terrific week. The kitchen is absolutely great, and in this time of COVID, we really used it! We look forward to a return visit.

You won't regret staying here!
Our family of 5 loved staying at this beach house! Its clean, organized and in a great location. We walked/rode our bikes everywhere and the dogs loved walking on the beach every day (before 9:00 and after 6:00). Of course, the pool is amazing too, especially enjoying cocktails at night overlooking the beach while the kids had fun swimming. Only thing that would have made this place better was a fence for the dogs but that wouldn't deter us from staying here again. We1ll be back!

Great house, great location
We had a wonderful visit, the beach location was perfect for morning walks. There were only 2 of us but this house would be perfect for a large family. The kitchen was well equipped, beds were comfortable. The location is close to the lighthouse and an easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this cottage and look forward to returning.

Even better than advertised!
We had a wonderful stay with our 10 family members of varying ages, from 6 years old to 70. The open concept kitchen is beautiful and extremely functional for multiple people doing prep work with ample seating for meals. The stunning ocean views from the kitchen, sitting area, and two of the bedrooms were our favorite part of the house. Kitchen was well-stocked, and the refrigerator was large enough to accommodate the food for our Thanksgiving meal. Although we were initially concerned about parking our 3 larger vehicles, parking was not a problem at all. We loved walking out the back door to view the sunrise in the morning and the relatively easy walk or very short drive to the park and restaurants. Looking forward to our next visit!

This is a cute home in a great location. However, it could use a few updates--better mattresses in the bunk room, better pillows and towels, and only one clothes hangar could be found in the entire house!

Family Beach Vacation
The location is fantastic...steps to the beach and close to town. Loved the beautiful pool... perfect for all members of our family! Spacious room for our family, however, the furniture was soiled with wear and tear and could have been cleaned periodically throughout the season. The large kitchen/dining area was very nice. Response by owner and property manager was excellent and they took care of our requests immediately. We loved our first visit to St. Simons Island and hope to return!

Clearly paradise on earth
We are, were, a faithful OBX family. This place changed that. Saint Simon island was beautiful. The house was everything it looks like and pet friendly to boot. The naval maritime decor was great, very interesting. The kitchen is large and open. The bedrooms big and bright. But the pool, oh the pool. It was the most used thing in the house. See, the ocean water was very warm. Nice to go in but very warm. The salt water pool was cool, so refreshing , we were in it night and day. The beach is huge. At low tide probably 100 yards wide. The sand soft, warm, plentiful and miles of it. The beachfront and town is so different than the OBX. Quiet and not commercialized. The town was a very short walk down tree covered streets. Spanish moss hanging everywhere. It really made you feel like you went 100 years back in time. We are so looking forward to a return trip next year and for years to come. There is so much to do and see that we feel we haven’t even scratched the surface.

Saint Simons Island Beach House
This house was perfect for my family of 4 adults and 2 children under 5. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The kitchen is large with great appliances. But the best part is the amazing view from all the rear windows. Guests are only steps away from the beach, plus the pool is super nice.

I did not want to leave!
I’ve been coming to SSI since I was a kid (I’m now in my 30s). This was by far the best place I’ve stayed on the island. It’s got to be one of the only single family home with a private ocean front pool. My kids swam for hours. If they weren’t in the pool, they were at the beach a few steps away. You can’t beat that. The house is walking distance from the Village/restaurants and also from the King and Prince area restaurants—pretty much an ideal location. Ryan is super attentive and an excellent communicator. Same for the management team. They checked in with us the day after we arrived to see if we needed anything. I hope to stay here every time I make it down to SSI. Thanks for a fabulous stay!”

If you have small children, this is your vacation rental!
We rented for a bachelorette weekend which this house was perfect for! Large open kitchen, nice size bedrooms, enough bathrooms and outlets for alllll the hairdryers and curling irons. I ended up having to take my one year old. Her and I were out on the beach by 730, without having to pack up the whole house! It took maybe 50-60 steps for our toes to be in the water. Perfect! This house also has a pool that in the late afternoon is COMPLETELY SHADED by the houses next door! Perfect for those small children that you have to wrestle with the sunscreen! Needless to say I will be rented this house again for just our family to take all of our kids! The location was great also! Walked to the pier everyday. I thoroughly enjoyed this house and all it’s perks.
