Bitte beachten Sie, dass keine Bade- oder Strandtücher zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Es gibt Parkplätze für 2 große Autos oder 3 kleine Autos direkt vor der Tür und kein vorbeiführender Verkehr macht es zu einer familienfreundlichen Lage. Wenn Sie aktiv werden möchten, können Sie Ihre Ausrüstung in der Garage aufbewahren. Surfbretter, Kajaks, Kletterausrüstung usw. für all die Aktivitäten, die Croyde auf Sie ausüben kann, und ein Gartenschlauch zum Abwaschen. Had a fabulous time at the porthole, the properties location is beautiful and so close to sea and local amenities in Croyde. The house is superbly kitted out and has everything you need for your stay. We loved every minute and would t hesitate to recommend

Fantastic time at this v clean, lovely decorated and furnished property. Plenty of amenities as listed. Lovely garden area nice sun trap. Perfect location, easy walk to beach, pubs, cafes. Thanks to Jane for being a wonderful host.

The house is in a great location for the village and beach and is the perfect size for a young family.

This was our 5th stay at The Porthole. We keep coming back for two reasons. Firstly we love Croyde and secondly Jane's property is simply perfect for us. The location is in a quiet cul-de-sac and there is ample parking. The house is tastefully decorated in a nautical theme and the facilities provided make a stay like being at home. There is a garage for storage and a neatly kept garden, with a patio area around the back of the house which is great in the summer. We will definitely be back

Beautiful coastal home from home
The Porthole is situated at the top of a small and quiet cul-de-sac. It has a driveway for off-road parking for one car. Although you can’t see the coastline from downstairs there are great views from the front bedroom. The property is light and airy and decorated in a blue, white and grey coastal theme. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment should you wish to cook and if not then there are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from.
All the furnishings are excellent quality and the bed linen is from the White Company which ensures a comfortable sleep during your stay. There is also a drying wrack for wetsuits in the garage and a tumble dryer available as well as a clothes line.
Outside the property at the back is a small private garden which is laid to lawn, there is also ample decking. Deckchairs and cushions are provided for use during your stay.
This property is ideal for couples of all ages and families with up to two children. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Indeed we like it so much we are returning for our 4th stay in September

A Gem of a property
It’s often difficult finding a smaller property for just a couple to stay in, that’s why the Porthole is ideal as it has just two bedrooms but plenty of space to chill out and relax in. It also has ample parking and is situated at the edge of the village so there’s only a short walk to the beach or to the local shops and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this property to both couples and a small family of four. The owner Jane is also very friendly and helpful. So overall you can’t go wrong staying in one of her properties

We had a wonderful stay in a lovely property & Jane was very helpful. The beaches in the area are absolutely stunning and the three of us spent a lot of time in the sea! We will definitely be returning to the area!

A relaxing home from home
The Porthole is situated at the top of a quiet cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Croyde. It has lovely elevated views from the front bedroom over the whole bay looking out towards Baggy Point. The interior is decorated in clean white with seaside themed accents. The decor and furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. It has a well equipped kitchen and more than adequate bathroom facilities. There is a patio out back and a small sunny garden. perfect for an alfresco lunch. If you’re either a couple or a small family this property is ideal if you want a safe and comfortable coastal break. It also has the benefit of adequate parking. We’ve stayed 3 times already and we are due back in September. Thanks to the warm welcome and excellent accommodation laid on by the lovely owner Jane Baker

A Home from home
As we had previously stayed at the Porthole we already knew what to expect with regards to the high quality of the accommodation offered by Jane the owner. Even Covid19 requirements did not detract from the comfort and warmth of the property. We were blessed by great weather so managed to get out and about along the North Devon coast. However, even in wet conditions the property offers many distractions such as Netflix and Amazon prime. The Porthole is an ideal retreat for both couples of all ages and young families alike. We look forward to returning next year

Perfect!
This was our third holiday in this property. The holiday home is beautiful, extremely comfortable, maintained to a very high standard and has everything you may need during your stay. It has a lovely, secluded garden. It is in a perfect position close to Croyde beach and village and from it, you can easily reach North Devon's many treasures, from the breathtaking Exmoor to the stunning wide sandy beaches.

Really lovely - perfect beach holiday
The house is beautiful and clean - perfect for us as a family of 4. We could wash clothes and there’s a tumble dryer, there’s space to hang out wetsuits and a lovely garden for a bbq, the kids loved their TV in their room, and the road is quiet and overloooking green hills with farm animals. It’s easy to walk to the beach down a few different footpaths and the surf school has lessons from the car park just a few minutes away. The caravan park nearby has takeaway fish and chips and pizzas which was great for us because we visited during COVID restrictions so some of the pubs/restaurants were difficult to book. The village is also really lovely and pretty and small and not too touristy, a few little shops and pubs and a market on certain days.

Overall very good.... But
We stayed in November and it was cold and rainy.
The only issue we had was the house was cold and the heating didn't seem to cope that well. Overall the house is lovely but i would say it would be a good idea to get rid of the shower in downstairs loo and install a radiator as while we were there we had to keep the loo door open to warm the room as it was very cold. Freezing in fact.

Amazing property, perfectly located for beach and village.
Spent an amazing week at the end of August at The Porthole. The property was just perfect for a family holiday away, with all the home from home comforts you could want. The property was meticulously clean and very well equipped for all our needs, with everything very well thought through ( there was even a place to hang wetsuits to dry outside that was shielded from view whilst relaxing in the garden....) . It is centrally located with access to both the beach and village within minutes, but as it is at the end of a cul-de-sac, it is still extremely peaceful and with beautiful views of the hills from the master bedroom, so you can still have a sanctuary but be close to everything!! There were also sea view glimpses from the front too👍�🏻�.
Lots of outside space and plenty of cushions to use and giant beanbags were a great hit with the kids.
We were lucky to have pretty decent weather so got to use the bbq and walk to the beach for jaw dropping sunsets.
We have always loved Croyde and are joe so pleased we have also found the perfect place to stay when there.
We hope to be back soon!!

Holiday heaven
This was our second holiday at the beautiful Porthole. Everything you need is provided, even a cream tea and sea view! The house is of a very high standard and extremely comfortable and relaxing, lovely to come back to at the end of the day. It is in a quiet area, a short walk to both the lovely beach and the vibrant village of Croyde, which is a great base with amazing beaches, gardens, Exmoor and loads of other attractions within easy reach. We would have no hesitation in recommending The Porthole.

Family Holiday In Croyde
Fantastic week away with family - Great property, location and very lucky with the weather too! House was everything we were hoping for and really well equipped - From great bathrooms to comfy beds, big TV, immaculate kitchen and lovely garden. Great end of town / beach to stay as other end to all of the main campsites / holiday parks so not too busy despite being there during peak season.

Perfect family holiday
This is the second year that we have stayed in one of Jane’s properties in Croyde and we would most definitely choose to do so again. We have two young children and the property was a perfect location for walking into the village and the beach as well getting in and out of Croyde for some further afield exploring. The garden was a fantastic space and safe for our two little people. We were lucky with the weather so spent lots of time here. Everything has been thought of in Jane’s properties - a real home from home experience. Her taste for interior design is impeccable but definitely not a case of style over substance with comfort and practical family living clearly being very much at the forefront of the planning. The cream scones and fresh flowers are a really lovely touch. We didn’t really need anything from Jane while we were away but I felt confident that she was in easy reach which was reassuring. The communication from her in the lead up to the holiday and was pitched just right.

Week away
The property was lovely, the directions were good we found it straight away . The walk to the beach was pretty quick either through the village or up towards Braunton . We really enjoyed our time in croyde and at the property. Good size bedrooms lovely lounge dinner everything felt very new. A couple of small things we cooked on the first night and there are no chopping boards for meat only wooden one for bread , and tea cups very small, and on booking the house we read and understood the rules and booking in and out times which we would stick too, didnt need to be reminded that we had to be gone by 10 am on numerous occasions, and that the cleaner is paid from 10 am, not really interested in those details .

High quality accommodation in a convenient and quiet location.
We enjoyed every moment of our holiday stay at the Porthole accommodation. It is conveniently located within a few minutes walk of the shops, pubs, restaurants and beach in Croyde. The house has a nice light and airy holiday feel about it with open plan lounge, dining and kitchen layout . Patio doors lead to an private rear lawned garden and sun deck and dining facilities.
We were very impressed by the high quality accommodation which we found to be very comfortable and immaculately clean throughout. We highly recommend this property and will definitely use again on our next trip to North Devon.

Beautiful detached home, super clean and set in a quiet street.
We had a wonderful 3 night break. The house couldnt be faulted. Beds comfortable, all the amenities you could wish for, even a wetsuit washing area outside. Wifi was fast and the added bonus of Netflix and Amazon Prime made our teenage son very happy! Croyde village and the beach were within walking distance and we would wander to the local pubs in the evening. We loved our welcome cream tea too, thank you Jane, our Easter break was relaxing and enjoyable.
