This apartment is fantastic for a couple as long as you don't mind the two flights of steps! The family remembered us as returning guests so we had a bit more freedom in terms of checking in and gaining our keys.

Great apartment with better than usual European bed. It was softer than the typical hard mattresses, much appreciated!

When we arrived, there was no one to let us in. Turns out, there was an email with the necessary info/codes needed, but I didn’t have an internet connection until I found wi-fi and hence, found the email. All was well after that!

A beautiful apartment in an historic building built in 1613. Even though we arrived an hour before we expected our host was waiting for us. Free private parking was a plus. The Kaufmannhaus Anno 1613 is located in the "newer Old Town" but has a wonderful quiet neighborhood all it's own. The oldest part of Quedlinburg is an easy 8 minute walk away (but wear good shoes--everything is cobblestoned here). The rooms were huge with large windows, the kitchenette well equipped and there's a Lidl one block away. Wifi was great. The host was very helpful getting us situated and spoke English very well. This was nice as Quedlinburg is visited a great deal by German tourists, but not many Americans. We didn't see him again after we checked in but had a phone number for him if needed. Do note there's not a lift, but the stairway is wide and sturdy. We spent two full days exploring every nook and cranny of the town, taking hundreds of pictures as the buildings are beautiful in this UNESCO World Heritage site. For a nice dining experience I recommend the Himmel & Holle. They were open on Sunday, but not on Monday, much to our disappointment as the food was so good we wanted to return.
