Inviting, cosy and comfortable

Cedar Country Retreat was the perfect base for catching up with friends. We walked the Pinnacle from the house. Warm house, comfy beds, well appointed. Vicki and Ash were responsive to our questions and even organised fit additional wood during our stay. Recommend as a great spot to stay for a few days in Winter to walk the Grampians

The property met our needs

Beautiful location close to the heart of Halls Gap. Convenient to all the walks we wanted to do with all the comforts of home. We loved the cosy retreat feel and log fire. The bathrooms were well stocked with all we needed and the kitchen had everything to assist us in preparing a meal. Comfortable beds. Friendly wildlife in the backyard was a special surprise. Would love to come back and stay again.

We would have loved an extra armchair while relaxing in the lounge as there were 6 of us, with lounge seating for only 5.

It was beautiful. lovely and green compared to other areas around town. We had a family of kangaroos feeding on the green grass and cockatoos landing on the back porch.

The property is not directly in town but we liked that.

Decor, Comfort

Really personal touches to make the house homely - great decor and pictures. Lots of extras to make you feel welcome and comfortable and that the owners are generous - wine, chocolates, plenty of soaps/shampoos/conditioner, plenty of toilet paper, well stocked kitchen with everthing you need. The place is well lit with natural light - plenty of reading spaces inside and out, and sense of space. Vicki and Ash were great and answered all my queries whilst we were there promptly and made sure if anything missing it was sorted. Great location - Short walk to halls gap visitor centre.

Upstairs main bedroom was a bit hot after a hot day. There was an aircon at the level of floor of upstairs - but not as effective as having an aircon in the room. Had to rely on natural ventilation when opened up both balcony door and window (opposite each other) which worked pretty well as long as outside already cooled down. Washing machine supplied but would have been great if it could dry clothes as well.
