It's comfortable enough its an old building quite well refurbished. Staff were were very helpful . Its a lovey old town. Breakfast was good.

Telly kept turning on and off. This happened in the night too.

Breakfast was fine. We liked the position of the hotel and neighbourhood was quiet but the noise from the bar below and people outside at the back below our window beyond 11pm was unacceptable.

Staff were great, friendly and helpful. The chef came in early and cooked breakfast so that we could be on the road for 6:45 on both mornings. The breakfast was good, freshly cooked with local produce. The evening meal was good and reasonably priced. Overall, an excellent value hotel.

The heating wasn’t working on the first night but was fixed the following day. Apart from that no complaints whatsoever.

Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of food provided at breakfast. I had the full Scottish breakfast and every element of it was well presented and cooked to perfection.

We could not get the outside door open and had to ask the police for help and it took two hours in very cold weather at the middle of the night

On arrival we were told the hotel was closing the next day so we had to leave after breakfast at 9 the next morning. The advertised checkout time at booking was 11am. As I had to go to a funeral in a nearby church at 11 I had chosen this accommodation as I wasn’t driving. The weather was atrocious and having to shelter from the rain before the service was not pleasant. The breakfast menu offered yoghurt and fruit. Neither were however available. On querying this I was told it was winter and they were closing soon so there was none. Noise from the ground floor bar and the customers was heard in both my room on the floor above the bar and on the floor above mine too. I contacted the hotel management using the email address they sent for comment but have received no response 4 weeks later.

The staff were excellent couldn't do enough for you. Always had a smile on their faces happy to help such as taking your suitcase to you room if you wished. Food good, breakfast set you up for the day. Full Scottish if you wanted. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and very clean.

I would recommend putting two chairs in the bedroom it had only one.

Welcome was decidedly lacking - apparently we 'didn't book with the hotel' we booked with Booking.com so it was our fault we didn't book the right room. (We did book the right room and the mix up was the hotel's.) Made to feel quite unwelcome. The room was not cleaned or bed made. The room we stayed in was a bit tired. Overall this hotel is not offering the quality it should for the price we paid.

Just had a basic breakfast and one evening meal. No evening meal was available on one day and the place was packed and too noisy on the other evening. Staff were friendly and helpful.

No signs of the room being checked overnight on the three days stay. The main down side was that there was a lot of noise from the public areas which was a bit intrusive in the bedroom.
