Seemed to be a loo roll rationing lol . Soon remeded on asking. Breakfast one morning was dry and overcooked- other guests seem to have thus opinion to , and everyone was asking for breakfast without certain things -maybe kept warm ? Chef change on Monday and much improved

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, rooms were super comfortable and nicely presented, very well designed for space given the unusual shape of the property

Stairs very steep, but double handrails very helpful

Homely, great traditional bar with good value menu.

The room was quite small, the bathroom had no shelves at all… The location wasn’t as near to the centre as we’d expected… We expected there to be a Hotel car park too… but there wasn’t, but luckily, as after 20 minutes of driving around we found one down a side street.

Central location, great bar, very good breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff.

Parking was around the corner, 100m away, but that wasn’t an issue for me.

Noise from the street even with the window closed. Quite warm in the room. Cooked porridge would be a nice addition to the breakfast menu.

Only one thing I didn’t like mattress was too soft and therefore had dipped a little.

Staff were very friendly, polite, professional & catered well for our needs. Got a telephone call on the morning of our stay to check our requirements, which was a nice touch. Great breakfast, fresh coffee (not steed). Excellent choice of food at reasonable prices. Comfortable bed/room. Convenient for town. Quiet street. Close to car park if on-street not available.

Clean room, friendly staff, and a very handy location to the town. It was my second stay here and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's a vibrant and friendly pub at tea-time and into the early evening without being too noisy. The food is hearty and the cooked breakfast in the morning sets you up for a lovely trek around the glorious and picturesque Yorkshire dales.

I really can say there is nothing not to like.

The pub is very well situated, and the twin room has a lovely aspect with two big windows in it. Check-in was very easy and breakfast was excellent, the chef was very chatty and accommodating. The bar downstairs is very cosy and the restaurant serves excellent food.

The only thing we would change is that the breakfast room was silent, making private conversations a little tricky. A radio with say Radio 2 playing in the background would have been a lovely touch.

I’m not a morning person and breakfast was only 7-9am which is early if you’re not on a work trip. I didn’t mind in the end though cos it was an excellent breakfast and the staff are lovely

No Internet in rooms . only the bar. Parking was hard to find a space. But later got one about 6.30pm. So paid on the nearby carpark.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was exceptionally clean and had everything we wanted and there was lots to choose from for breakfast.
