The house and property were just what we needed to unplug and reset. The views were beautiful from the dock. The Bellows’ were wonderful hosts and supplied plenty of games and SUP for guest use. Chimney Rock Village was close and a great place to walk around with good local restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Jon and Gail's Lake Lure house was splendid. Nice quiet cove. Right on the water with easy access to the dock and water. Also had a ramp right into the water (heard at least one boater comment that they thought that was cool - and so did we!) And the owners were great to work with. Thanks for everything Jon & Gail! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! (as long as you don't take our week next year!)

Second straight year we have stayed here. Will be back ! What a wonderful house in a great location. Clean, well-equipped, and so conveniently close to the lake Nice pontoon boat at the dock if one wishes to rent it and plenty of other water recreational equipment. Jon and Gail, the owners/hosts are so very nice and responsive. We highly recommend this property !

Simply, my family’s (and mine) favorite place/house we have ever vacationed at! Ithis was our second visit! ’ve kayaked (provided) a lot around that lake and I truly believe that these owners (who are delightful) has the best property on the lake. They are tucked in at the end of a cove allowing kids (and adults) to swim and paddle boat without the worry of power boats. And because it’s tucked away, you have more privacy than most, much harder for strangers to see into the house. Eventhough the house is tucked away, their boat dock sits out on the water just enough that one can sit out there and take in the beautiful Mountain View’s that lake lure provides and one gets to that dock by just a slight hill! Not the thousands off steps like other properties! I find the house very comfortable and we had 7 easily sleep there and easily could have slept more! It’s a blessing that we are so fortunate that the owners share their home, it’s such a gem. My only suggestions to fellow renters would be: if y’all are sun bathers like my hubby is, bring your own lay down lounge chairs; bring dry firewood for their new fire pit (it rained everyday so we didn’t have dry wood); and hide the modem cable as soon as you get there (that’s what I did!)

Crystal clear water in a quiet cove with ample outdoor seating options and fun water toys. The view off the dock is unmatched!

We chose a perfect week to stay! The weather was wonderful, it was very quiet and so relaxing. The property is beautiful. The screened in porch was our favorite hang out place. The only thing missing was a swing. Lol We were even offered early check in and late check out. We'll definitively stay again.

The bellows were super quick in their response to any questions asked. The view from the dock is breathtaking and worth the stay all it itself! We didn’t spend much time at the property as we were visiting family in surrounding areas but we enjoyed the time we did have there. Wished for snow but didn’t happen this go around ☺️ Weather was fantastic though!

This home is so cozy! It was perfect for our family. I loved relaxing on the screened in porch.

My family and I spent Thanksgiving here and enjoyed ourselves. The weather was nice enough we were able to enjoy actually using some of the many lake “toys” (canoe, kayak) provided for us. House is in a lovely location, and Lake Lure is a beautiful place. The owners are easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any question. We have zero complaints about anything.

My twin sister and I who are from different states just wanted to have some relaxing time together. This property definately fit the bill. The lakehouse was beautiful and well equipped. Jon and Gail were very friendly and helpfull. They communicated very quickly. The driveway was scary steep, but a normal thing in this area. I'm from Florida so I am used to very flat topography, But the owners were very helpful with that as well. Our dogs enjoyed their stay as well. I will definately mark tht as afavorite for any future trips.

I had family over from England and France for a family wedding and after I wanted to take them somewhere to show them how beautiful NC is in the Fall. I couldn’t have chosen a better location and house. The views were breathtaking and we had so much fun on the lake in the canoe, kayak and paddle boards supplied by our hosts. The house had everything we needed and the kitchen was so well stocked. Very clean and a good layout for a large group. We have already booked to return next July.

Excellent 2 weeks

This was to be a extended family vacation with 8 people. Unfortunately, due to illness and a pet accident only 4 people were able to come. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The house was comfortable. Most necessities were there: dishwashing detergent, garbage bags, coffee filters, etc. The screened in porch and dock were where we spent the majority of our time. All the water toys were great. Daily canoe, kayak and stand up paddle boards were the routine. Would definitely go again.

Our family had the BEST time at this lake house! The Bellows provided so many lake toys-canoe, kayak, paddle boards, paddle boat, floats/noodles, and a pontoon boat to rent. We were so busy having fun playing, floating and just hanging around looking at the gorgeous view we didn't even leave the property unless we had to go to the grocery store. The lake was so accessible with cemented paths and there was plenty of parking. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with what we needed to cook dinner each night-plus a nice grill and fire pit. Our family of 6 made lots of memories here! We highly recommend this wonderful lake house.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Jon and Gail's lake house. The view from the dock is just beautiful providing for a peaceful and relaxing setting. The house was so clean, comfortable, and well stocked. We had everything we needed. The house comes with every water toy could want for fun in the lake. Our family which included our two kids (ages 12 and 9) and my mother in law all enjoyed the kayak, paddle boards, pedal boat, canoe and floats. Renting the pontoon is a must as we so enjoyed touring the lake and our kids loved jumping off the side of the boat. Jon and Gail were accessible and so helpful and friendly. We cannot wait to come back to this slice of heaven.

We had a wonderful time at your lake house! The property was set up perfectly for my elderly mother who finds stairs a challenge. She was able to access the yard and dock via the side walk on the side of the house and through the yard to the lake. The house was very well stocked with everything we needed and more. Plenty of lake "toys" to keep everyone happy. Really liked the bit of shoreline that made accessing the lake very easy. Only house in the area with a shoreline. Everyone enjoyed your home from my 10 month old grandson (my first vacation with my first grandbaby) to my 80 year old mother and everyone in between. Thank you again for sharing your wonderful lake house with us!!

Everything about our stay was great. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. The owners/hosts ( Gail and Jon) were so very nice and responsive when we had any routine questions. The pontoon boat was in fine condition. Also, of all the lakefront houses we have rented at Lake Lure over the years, this one was the closest and most convenient to the dock and shore with virtually no steps/stairs if one exits the front door and takes the gently sloping walkway to the dock. We will doubtless rent it again!

Property was exactly as pictures presented it. There was every "water toy" available and house was well equipped. The owners were responsive and easy to work with. Our family and fur babies had a wonderful time.

We had a wonderful time at this lake house. Gail and Jon were great hosts and were very responsive to any questions we had. We had 5 kids and 2 dogs with us and it was a perfect place for all of us!

Great times had by all, enjoyed the location, nice quiet cove, used the pontoon, learned to paddle board, went kayaking and canoeing. Used the fire pit, close to Chimney Rock

We had a relaxing vacation at this lake house. The kitchen was well stocked, and we had fun with the canoe and paddle boards. Our dogs LOVED jumping off the dock and swimming?

The rental was beautiful. and well stocked. Gail was initially good with communication. However, We did notice the stove smelled of gas when we cooked on it. We contacted the owners and they said they had just had it checked a month ago . Said they wouyld try to ghave someone come out the next day. To our knowledge. no one came out. We attempted to use the stive again 2 nights later and the gas smell was worse. We notified the owners and told them it should be checked out before the next renters came up. THey never communicated that they were not able to get anyone out after we told them of the problem. Also the microwave turn table was dirty and I had to clean it and also the dishwasher had dishes in it when we arrived. We were not sure if they were clean or not so we ran it again. Had it not been for the lack of communication with the gas smell, I would have given this place 5 stars. Irt really is a nice place.

What a comfortable home to stay in with beautiful views. My wife and I came to Lake Lure for a family wedding and a few extra days of relaxation. We canoed. We hiked. We sat and did nothing on the screen porch. This home made us feel as though we were at home...very comfortable. I highly recommend it and would rent it again when and if coming back to the area. We could not have asked for anything more! This house combines 1930’s history with modern living. Our favorite parts of the Bellows’ home were the easy access in & out of water and all the water toys, bringing daily delight to our whole family and Austrailan Shepherd. Life vests available were for all our kids (age 5-11) and us. Comfort was definitely in mind-comfy bedding, tons of extra pillows and blankets (often lacking in rentals), plenty of bath towels, fans/heaters. Basics like hand soap, dish liquid, sponge, dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent were all there plus spices, cooking spray, etc. They even thought of the dog (dog beds, bowls, doggie life vest). This house is secluded in feel but has easy access to the town of Lake Lure and the Village of Chimney Rock. Gail was an absolute delight to communicate with when we had questions. We hope to return!

This is a great property. Flow of the house is perfect with plenty of living space and outdoor space. Property has plenty of water toys and the gentle slope makes access into the lake easy to get in and out. Great location for dogs who love the water. Check in and out was very simple. House was clean and kitchen had all you need for preparing meals. Can’t say enough about this location. We plan on booking another stay in the near future.

This property was great! We wish the weather had been better to enjoy the wonderful outdoor space this property had to offer but we enjoyed a cozy weekend at the lake!

Had a Great reunion with my Brothers and and few friends. Had a Great time at the house and loved that it was convenient to local attractions.
