JoAn was a pleasure to deal with, great communication. The house is in a great location. It’s a classic keys home with the charm of what the Keys has always been. We will be returning to this rental, as it was perfect for us. It is good to note that if you are driving to the Keys and are able to, it would be safe to bring your own cooking utensils and pans, as the ones provided are very aged and toxic to use at this point…but we see that as an easy fix since Publix is now a short distance away.

We liked having separate living areas for two couples and common areas for cooking and eating. The neighborhood was very quiet and relaxing. We loved the private pool and enjoyed seeing the huge fish, manatees and many varieties of birds in the canal. This property was also very close to excellent restaurants and ice cream shops! We would highly recommend this property!

We had a great vacation and the property is amazing. Outdoor space is perfect in every way. Dock and pool and decks were pristine. Only suggestion would be update on the furniture upstairs. Super uncomfortable and not enough seating to enjoy tv/football games as a family. Probably need extra bedding and better pillows especially for the pullout beds. Pillows in upstairs master were flat. Could use some additional utensils, namely forks and spoons and measuring cups and measuring spoons. Definitely need updated appliances like a blender and crock pot. They were very outdated and we couldn’t use them. But none of that prevented us from enjoying the house and the layout. Just suggestions for next guests or just remove those from the appliances there. I would’ve brought my own if I knew. We ended up buying measuring cups and plastic utensils for the two week stay. Also, ceiling started blowing out insulation the last two days so Not sure what happened there but the counter was covered with little pieces of insulation coming from the vent above the counter with the stove.

The location is very appropriate for the purpose of our getaway. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and several of the neighbors were friendly and helpful. My only knock would be that the property could use a little upkeep. The porch light over stairwell was out, the pool was not clean and a few interior items discussed with owner upon arrival. Nothing major but just some things of note.

Very uncomfortable beds, rude house cleaner. The air upstairs does not keep the house cool and only lets it go down to 73. The pool is in serious need of structural repair. Pool coping is a trip hazard due to the pool being so out of level. Plants around the pool and driveway need cleaning. Nails were sticking up on deck. A minimal amount of towels for the entire house.

We had a wonderful stay in Venetian Tropics. The location was perfect for what we wanted . The pool and boat access was the best assist. Can’t wait to go back next year and do it all over again! KC

We just returned from our stay at Venetian Tropics. It was a great place to vacation with our family. The house is just as advertised and shown. The location could not be better, especially if you bring your boat. The ac works great and the pool is lovely. There is an outdoor mini fridge in the outside bar area which was great for chilling your favorite beverages. The owner was very responsive to our questions as we settled in. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks JoAn for opening up your home to us. We made great memories. Terry Brown

Very hesitant about posting a review because I want o keep it our little gem LOL. House and location was perfect. Rented a boat for 10 days and convenience of having it at the house was ideal. Heated pool was a plus. Easy and friendly communication with JoAn couldn't have gone smoother. Will definitely be returning next year!

Islamorada is the best key

Property was outstanding, super clean and very welcoming the entire family was thrilled! Perfect vacation! We'll definitely be back in the future.

We loved staying at this property. The pool was great. My kids loved fishing on the dock and just watching the fish swim near the dock. It is in a great location close to nice restaurants. We will definitely be back!

The property is in a great location and the house has a good set up. With a family though, I would not have rented this place knowing ahead of time that the “master bedroom“ is completely detached and you have to go outside to get to the main living area. We have a 10-year-old boy and two dogs and that’s why we rented a Pet friendly home with a pool. When we arrived for a late check in after driving 10 hours we found the heated pool was not heated. COVID-19 cleaning protocols seem to require an antibacterial solution that was left on all surfaces including the mirrors and TV screen that in effect looked like a nasty film. The morning after our check in I sent a text to the property manager explaining some of the issues I had with the property. Rather than apologize and say that she would fix it, her immediate response was to tell me I could get a refund and rent some thing else. I explained that we just drove 10 hours and did not want to spend 2 days finding a new rental. She then agreed to send the cleaning company back which I told her was not needed because I finished the cleaning. The reason I say it could be a great place is because it is obvious the owner of this property spends as little as possible to maintain it. On what I spent for a week's rent, you would expect to have decent quality towels, more than 4 drinking glasses in the cabinet (there’s about 20 very small juice glasses) and frying pans that were better than something that looked 10+years old with all of the non stick coating scratched off. Several of the pots and pans were still dirty in the cabinet, the inside of the microwave is coming apart, the furniture is completely uncomfortable, the grill rusted out and was a total fire hazard - I can go on for days. Thankfully the owner of the property had the cleaning company send a new grill. I was told that I was rude to the cleaning people but the owner of the property told me they would take away the old grill and deliver a new one in its place. Instead the cleaning people came with a very old man who could not lift the grill, so they were told to leave it downstairs. I was upset because I wanted to grill upstairs, off the kitchen, as advertised. If the owner of this property took the week's rent she was willing to immediately refund me and spent it just half of it on the on the property it would be a much better place to rent.

The canal space for our boat was ideal for days spent exploring the waters (neighborhood is in an ideal spot for crossing into the ocean easily also) and for paddling on the windy days. We would definitely recommend this wonderful home and hope to return again.
