Kanal ist an der Bucht. Sie können mit dem Kajak in den State Park fahren, den Sie vom Deck aus sehen können. Es liegt direkt auf der anderen Seite des Kanals.
Da sich der Kanal in der Bucht befindet, werden Sie nachts roten Fisch und Speckle Forellen fangen. Verwenden Sie lebende Garnelen und Sie werden sie nachts durch das Unterwasserlicht (das manchmal wie ein Unterwasseraquarium ist) mit Sicherheit erhalten. Wir genießen es, den Fisch nachts im Licht zu beobachten.
Tagsüber fangen Sie alles, was vorbeischwimmt: Flunder, Croaker, Reds, Sand Forelle und Trommel. Wir haben ehrlich gesagt alles erwischt. Ködern Sie die Krabbenfalle bei Ihrer Ankunft mit Fisch, Hühnchen oder so ziemlich allem und Sie werden höchstwahrscheinlich mit einem guten Snack oder einer guten Mahlzeit aufwachen. Die Steinkrabben sind köstlich süß. Die Regel für diese ist, eine Kralle zu nehmen (die sich löst, wenn Sie genau nach rechts ziehen) und die Krabbe wieder freizulassen, um in Zukunft mehr Steinkrabben zu erhalten.
Wenn Angeln nicht Ihr Ding ist, dann hängen Sie einfach aus, schwimmen Sie, hören Sie Musik und genießen Sie die Aussicht. Strand ist nur 5 Minuten die Straße runter mit ein paar Restaurants in der Nähe. Wir genießen "The West End Marina und Restaurant" die Straße runter in Sea Isle. Es gibt einen ungezwungenen Sand Bar Grill, in dem immer eine Live-Band spielt. Tolles Essen und Getränke mit toller Aussicht auf das Wasser. Im Obergeschoss ist eher ein gehobenes Restaurant "The West End Restaurant". Jamaica Beach liegt in der Nähe vieler der beliebtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Galveston. Zwanzig Minuten von der Schliterbahn und dem Pleasure Pier entfernt. Wir haben eine eigene Polizei / Feuerwehr, einen Lebensmittelladen, einen Spirituosenladen und zwei Kirchen.
Wir sind den ganzen Tag unter der überdachten Veranda beschattet, da wir nach Osten blicken und das Grundstück nebenan leer ist, sodass Sie im Sommer immer die Brise nach Süden und Südosten haben.
Tipps zum Angeln. Wir fischen hauptsächlich nachts und tagsüber vom Oberdeck aus, nur weil es einfacher ist, da Sie das Haus betreten und verlassen können. Tagsüber kühler zum Fischen im Untergeschoss. Wir haben Lichter für das Wasser, aber Sie werden mehr Fische fangen, wenn Sie sie nachts fernhalten.
Die großen roten Fische lieben Gulp Kunstfische und wenn Sie einen fangen, erschreckt er andere Fische und es dauert ungefähr 10 Minuten, bis sie wieder anfangen, die Lichter unter Wasser zu umkreisen. Machen Sie sich also keine Sorgen, dass Sie die ganze Nacht über fischen können. Wenn Sie früh aufstehen, können Sie auch ein paar schöne Roten oder Forellen fangen.

The house is simple but has everything needed for a great vacation. Access to West Bay great- during the right conditions (not so hot!) I am guessing quality fish can be caught right off the deck . Quick access to bay system for serious fisher people with a boat. Outside areas spacious and inside very comfortable. Gulf Beach access right across the highway

The house it was real clean, the days that we spend in there! We brought our daughters and boys for this trip, my husband got a lot fun doing fishing while us we weee just enjoying the beautiful view from balcony. The only issue that we had it was that the 2nd night that we stay in the house, (it was a very bad storm) so the next day WiFi it was on and off, and the night before when we decided to do laundry the washer fill with water but never wash our clothes (electric problems and internet problems but it’s normal because that storm) but we really enjoy it and we hope in the future we can book again!

House was nice, great place to fish! AC did not work well. This place was way too hot! Had a week of not sleeping well because of the heat. Sorry, but 80 degrees in a house is too much. Home was listed as a 3/2 but had one complete bathroom and a toilet downstairs in a utility room. Would have never rented this house if we’d known this. Listing was not accurately described by the owner.

The house was nice and we enjoyed our stay. However, we checked out on Sunday instead of Monday because I fell down on the last step before the dock. I would suggest that the owner paint a 4” wide red stripe all the way across it. I feel like I’m fine but went for exrays this morning to be sure. There needs to be a toilet bowl brush in the bathroom. Thank you.

This spot was perfectly located on a canal facing the rising sun in the mornings, shaded in the evening. Our dog enjoyed the fenced - in yard & cool floors inside. Our 5 year old grandson helped out on the dock securing the kayaks while Dad & Papa fished. I appreciated how clean everything was & the decorating inside was lovely yet easy to maintain. We gathered around the round table to play games in the heat of the day. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks & the setup for fishing, including rocking chairs for spectators. Only thing that would’ve been better is if the fish were biting!

The property is beautiful and extremely clean. The views are breathtaking!! My only complaint was the second “bathroom” was only a toilet , no sink, the door doesn’t lock, and there’s no sink. So to me an accurate listing would be 3 bedrooms, one bath.

When I booked, it was just for my husband and son and 1 dog! It was our first vacay bringing a pet, I was pleasantly surprised how great this place would work out! The whole area is fenced with lots of room to run around! Our great friends had a cancellation of a baseball tournament, so they joined us last minute. The bunk room is where the boys slept and plenty of room for another couple.. so we for 6 comfortably! It has one full bathroom that made it a challenge, but there is a secret bathroom down stairs that remained a secret for 24 hours LOL and I preferred it that way 😂.. we brought fishing kayaks, caught fish, crabs in the traps, and enjoyed the breeze. Spent a day at the beach.. I loved how we never felt the crowds of a holiday weekend! We would love to be back, the joy of having our pets with us without a worry, made it more amazing! Cold Ac which was a huge bonus.. it was SO HOT/humid this weekend!

We loved this home. Currently looking to book again. Amazing communication with the owner and property is beautiful, especially the updated interior of the home. Kayaks available to use which was super fun! Pet friendly and completely fenced in. All of the exterior gates make it perfect for young children's safety.

We enjoyed our stay so much! The property was perfect for what we were looking for!! Fish and crabs were scarce but the view and peacefulness of being on the water more than made up for it. We did catch a few keepers and our youngest hooked a big red and says he is “fish whisperer.” The green light in the water is amazing! It was fun to watch the fish. There was one really large fish that kept lurking around but wouldn’t take the bait. Would definitely stay there again!

The process was quick easy and painless. Beautiful house and property. Was clean and would definitely recommend staying at this location. Location for fishing was great but we went on the coldest weekend possible with no fishing rewards but still had a blast. Crab traps were used before we had arrived and we're already in the water loaded with bait. No complaints on my end.

Great place!
Just as advertised, right in a cul de sac of the canal, super quiet neighborhood, easy to get to. House was immaculate, plenty of supplies for cooking the crab or fish if you wanted to do so. Yard is of decent size, more than enough for our 2 small dogs. Check in was easy, I booked the night before we arrived, within 10 minutes had a message with check in instructions from the owner. There are kayaks, floaties, cornhole boards, small charcoal grill, crab pot, and old ice chests for holding the fish and crabVery nice place, would definetly rent again.

Great bay view
We loved our stay here. The property has a great view (better than the pictures online can show) and was very relaxing. The canal is wide. The kayaks that came with rental were so appreciated. We kayaked multiple times a day.
The underwater light was broken by a prior renter but the owner had it repaired during our stay, which we really appreciated. Easy to fish (although nothing large was biting during the heat of August) and out of the sun during the evening.
Beds and bedrooms were great. Bring toilet paper. (There is some when you arrive but not extra). Kitchen has plenty of stock pots. There is a coffee grinder and most things you need. The only thing I found myself wishing it had was an extra large bowl. That’s pretty good for a rental!
We loved that we could bring our dog. He could run around freely.
It’s also ridiculously easy to get the beach.
Wonderful stay.

Was in a good location. I talked to one of the neighbors and was friendly. We definitely like this one more than the other house we rented for before and would rent again. The dogs like the property as well. They kept running around and enjoying it. The wife and I enjoyed sitting outback in the rocking chairs watching everyone having a good time. This is the perfect location for a West Bay fishing vacation. You can’t ask for much better access to great fishing spots in West Galveston in Bayside in this property. We fish mechanic in from the boat dock to catching fish is less than five minutes. The neighbors are great and the neighborhood is pretty quiet. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and I’m quite sure we will come again. One note however. It’s really only one bathroom. Downstairs has a toilet in the sink in the summertime it’s pretty much and usable because of the temperature down there. That’s really the only negative and that’s not enough of the negative for us not to stay there again. You look forward to coming back in and again in the future.

We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights. It was just my boyfriend, myself, and our two pets! The property was perfect for us! It rained just about the whole time we were there, but we really enjoyed watching the rain on the ocean! We did fish from the porch and crab as well! We caught some good sized crabs! This was our first time fishing so we weren’t really sure how to lol. But there were for sure fish around as we could see them through the fishing light! We even caught some baby drums and catfish in our crab traps! The property comes with many perks! All kinds of cooking ware , spices, and etc for a full stocked kitchen! There was some artificial bait left for fishing as well! (We ended up leaving ours behind for someone more experienced to use lol) Also included large metal crab traps, bbq pit, tons of relaxing seating, gated yard, etc! Our pups really didn’t want to leave either. I have one 70lb dog, and one 25lb dog ! One thing to keep in mind is the gate to the fences! One of them does have a little gap where the gate closes so if you have a small dog (25lb or less) just keep an eye out! We put a concrete block in front of it and they weren’t able to squeeze through so it wasn’t an issue at all. The gating is in great condition too! So pups can’t break out. The strand was about a 20-30 min drive. During our stay we visited the strand with our pups! Over all, great place to stay and I will for sure be back!

Great Galveston Getaway House!
This was a great place to stay! We'd never been to Galveston so we were guessing but chose this house because it had a fenced in yard for the dogs. It was perfect!
We loved the location, quiet yet close to the beach and right on the canal. We stayed Tuesday-Thursday and there was no one in the houses around us. The fishing off the docks was great! They had chicken in the crab traps when we arrived and there were already crab in them! We took home 2 red fish and a speckled trout and caught so many more, it was a blast!
The location was so convenient to the quiet end of the beach. We had our 2 dogs with us and it was so nice to be able to just let them run around in the fenced yard while we fished. We didn't use the amenities of the house much but the bed we slept in was really comfortable.
We didn't have any contact with the owner, which was just fine, there were no issues. We would definitely stay here again!
