Location is great, and the overall historic ambience of the square where the hotel is. Breakfast is very good, but nothing special. Beds/bathrooms are comfortable.

In general, this is not what you expect. Elephant used to be a historic, very special hotel, really a highlight of Weimar. This was the case for decades, and this was the best memory from our stay there in 2010. This year it was different. The hotel was extended beyond any reasonable limits, its historic part got lost in the renovated building, and it turned in just another faceless Marriott chain-hotel, with endless confusing corridors and crowds of guests. It is also clearly understaffed, reception and concierges being unable to cope with the quests' requests and enquiries

Very friendly service and professional treatment. All questions have been correctly and quickly answered.

Centrally located on the town square (farmer's market 2X/week) it is proximate to all you want to see/experience in Weimar. Lots of restaurants nearby, walking distance to Goethe's town and country house (not to be missed). Parking in the rear is most convenient.

The recent renovations done in a modernish style took away from the charm of the place.

This historic hotel is right on the main square but is easily accessible (good parking directions) and has a lovely patio/garden for dining outside in good weather. The staff is friendly and professional. Excellent breakfast. We had one dinner and it was first class but casual and very relaxing. We also enjoyed the hotel in 1984...just enough has changed!

Highly recommend the restaurant in the hotel, a Michelin standard restaurant. The service staff is well trained and knowledgeable.
