We had a lovely stay at this cottage in Looe, It was in a good location for the town and it's shops and restaurants. The walk up the hill is not for the faint hearted but that's Looe! Our favourite restaurant was Juju's, dog friendly and delicious tapas. Madeleine was very helpful and a good host.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend at nancecliff. The host is so great,we had cake to greet us after a long drive and a beautiful pack of treats for our dog. The house is stunning, the garden is stunning. It felt very homely. Nice fresh clean beds comfy mattress. Clean bathroom/shower a gorgeous well equipped kitchen. This was topped off by the host being more than dog friendly, our dog enjoyed a luxury break in a stunning setting he had a big box of toys to play with and blankets to lie on. There is even an indoor dog shower! Really really enjoyed our stay. Many thanks we hope to visit again!

The property is full of character but was not as clean as i thought it would be. The garden was not as dog friendly as overgrown shrubs and long grass and could not see if a fence was dividing the property to next door. Stairs were very slippy in the garden. I think the garden could do with a bit more TLC. The hosts sadly only communicated once but never came back to me with suggestions of where to visit.

Beautiful views. Pleasantly quiet.
The garden is lovely to have, but definately needs more fencing to feel the dogs are safe.
More comfortable chairs are needed in the lounge. The beds were very comfortable. We couldn't find the recycling bins.
None of this however ruined our stay in any way and the dogs needs and treats were very well catered for. We would stay again. Thank you

Had a lovely stay at Nancecliff cottage in Looe, the cottage was a home from home, very clean and had everything that you could want. The beds and mattresses were amazing and we had a great night sleep.
Cottage is in a great location and has some great views.
Owner Madeleine was fantastic and promp in answering emails and provided us with a wealth of information on the local area.
Would highly recommend and would book again. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.

Absolutely amazing location. The property was clean and equipped with everything that we needed.
Our little dog was well catered for and spoilt rotten with treats and toys.
The communication with Madeleine was excellent (she even went out of her way to help us in 2021!).
Would love to come back again soon.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED EVERY MINUTE!!!!
Thank you 😎

Lovely location & house.
Really enjoyed our long weekend.
Although bedroom 3 is described on this site as a twin/single. It is a very small single room & only really suitable for one child & not the 6ft man who we had to squeeze into it.
The lounge could benefit from some more relaxed sofas to accommodate 5 people.
Lovely welcome from the host. Great communication. We had a really lovely time.

Lovely stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at Nancecliff! The welcome pack for us two and for Ben and Sam was greatly appreciated. Location is excellent, less than 5 minutes to West Looe and 10 to East Looe- loads of restaurants amd shops on your doorstep! House is lovely, fantastic bedrooms, would have loved a working fireplace /logburner but was warm in the evenings. Garden is lovely even though we were there in wet weather. Sam and Ben the dogs loved it! We recommend the place!

Comfy, immaculate in presentation, facilities, and content, attentive host, ideal location, fab bed, tiered well tended gardens, our dog loved it too as did we. Stupendous, we want to come back.

Time to spend some TLC on the basics at Nancecliff (no more gadgets needed)!
Like everyone post CV-19 pandemic we were SO looking forward to our holiday. A bit of 5 star luxury for >£1k for a week I thought with photos and 5-star reviews. With regret, we were to be disappointed. It might seem like an long-ish account but I want to be fair to the host yet true to reality.
YES it is a lovely location, off street parking a plus (beware of nettles), and Madeleine’s communication and pre-arrival info was great. But you don’t chose a holiday for the host (unless maybe it’s a BnB) and +twice daily comms for the first 4 days of the hols (due to leaking shower - asked to use DOG shower with cobwebs and spiders… - pendant lights stopped working downstairs) isn’t exactly what I’d anticipated/found relaxing!
Whilst the nautical decor is lovely it is more up-cycle than high end. And the images of house were clearly taken a few years back (holiday let was bought in 2017) and not up to date for 2021 (no cushions on rattan outdoor furniture - uncomfortable - washing line (?) with now tatty flags outside back door).
Time to spend some TLC on Nancecliff! Especially as more time is spent at the property due to CV-19 (eating out was almost impossible). Give it a deep clean (I personally had to clean fridge, glassware and plates on arrival), spend on extra kitchen glassware (1 glass each isn’t sufficient) crockery and utensils (sharp knives for cutting and a can opener which works). Make the store cupboard more generous (no oil?). And be clear that you provide only one loo roll per toilet (thank you for the extra ones).
This is clearly a holiday let, so treat it as a business, don’t take it personally, and spend some of the profits. Some larger and more luxurious towels and a new mattress for 2 of the bedrooms would be a good investment. Yes, it’s admirable you donate to animal charities but think about the environment too (feel guilty about putting 1/4 full dishwasher on).

Lovely cottage with pretty views from the garden
We stayed at Nancecliffe for 5 nights at the end of July. The cottage was perfect for us, a family of 4 with our little dog Benji. The cottage was really well equipped and very clean. The lovely little treats for the dog were a nice surprise. The garden is up a steep hill but with lovely views. Madelaine, the host was very helpful and the communication was great from booking to our departure. The only way that it could be improved is with slightly more comfortable seating in the lounge, but we'd definitely return to Nancecliffe if we were to stay in the area for a break in the future.

Cosy and comfortable dog friendly cottage
The cottage is perfectly equipped for a holiday stay. Although its part way up a steep hill the reward is from the views from the garden over Looe and the harbour. It's very dog friendly but if it wasn't for the toys and dog treats that Madeleine left for our old English sheepdog you would not know that there were so many four legged visitors- the place is spotlessly clean. The dedicated dog wash, accessible from an outside door is very handy for washing off mud and probably helps keep the place so clean.
We had a lovely walk from the cottage to Polperro along the costal path and then caught the bus back after lunch. I think there are many more walks that Madeleine advised us of direct from the cottage and so no need to move the car which is conveniently parked opposite the cottage gate.
We were there in November and although we had some sunny days the weather could be chilly but the cottage was very warm when we returned.
Overall highly recommended

Only three days at the lovely cottage and could've happily stayed three weeks !
A lovely spacious and well equipped cottage which is beautifully decorated in a fun and thoughtful nautical and seaside theme. It's very well set up for dogs with a dog shower and enclosed large garden. The views from the seating area and from the top of the garden over into Looe and the sea were breathtaking.
It's on a hill up from the harbour but a nice walk up and not too difficult at all. The car parking space was perfect as it's in a easily accesible large area right opposite the cottage.
We loved the doggy welcome pack as did the fat labrador who was holidaying with us. Thank you. Really made us smile.

Wonderful Stay in Looe
Looe is a wonderful base to explore from.
The cottage is a good size and very comfortable. Great hot shower with 2 bathrooms. It’s close to town up a hill which was easily managed. If you are keen walkers do try the coastal path to Polperro which was stunning.
Madeleine gave us all the information needed and was communication was thorough, warm and prompt.

Summer 5 day break
A really lovely property with great views down to the town and sea. The owner Madeleine was a pleasure to deal with both before and during our visit. The house was immaculate and was just like the pictures on the site. A nice touch was the welcome pack for us and our dog - cream tea for us and pawsecco for the dog. The only downside is the walk up to the property from the town, its not too far but could be a slog for those with walking disabilities, however we knew this when we booked so was not an issue. All in all a wonderful place to visit Looe, which is also a very lovely place.

Nancecliff cottage a wonderful place to stay.
The cottage exceeded all of our expectations. The rooms were clean, bright, and comfortable. The appliances and tech were very up to date. And the host was exceedingly accommodating. All in all a wonderful place to stay in Looe.

Fantastic cottage. Great location.
This cottage is 100% dog friendly and the owners really made sure that we as well as our dog had a lovely time. We received a really nice welcoming present. Scones for us and treat for the dog, which was a nice surprise after a long drive to Looe.
Nancecliff is a very welcoming, nicely decorated, clean place where we simply relaxed. The place is really quiet and almost idyllic. The views are breathtaking. I really enjoyed the views while having my morning coffee on the decking.
The cottage is fully equipped with kitchenwear. We even found coffee machines in the cabinets.
We also found a selection of dog bowls for dogs in all sizes. There is also a dog shower which we found very convenient to wash of the salty water of our dog after our walks on the beach.
We had a really nice holiday there. The owners send us some maps with a few places to explore, which was really nice of them as it was our first trip to Cornwall.
Shops, town centre, harbour and pubs are all in walkable distance which makes it a great place to explore Looe and the local area from simply by going for a walk.
Highly recommended.

Our time at Nancecliff Cottage
A truly wonderful experience. A beautiful cottage, amazing sea views and great location. We were made to feel at home as soon as we entered, finding a cream tea waiting for us and goody bag for our dog. A very special place.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location
Had a great time with our family of two young children and a dog. The owner was very helpful before our visit sending lots of information about the local area which proved invaluable when trying to plan our stay. The cottage was lovely and perfect for the dog. The outdoor space was really good when the weather was nice.

Fantastic!
What a wonderful cottage. Madeleine couldn't have been more helpful in the run up to our stay and when we arrived - wow - Nancecliff is just perfect for dogs and owners alike. We felt immediately at home, the cottage had everything we needed and we truly didn't want to leave.
Looe is a lovely seaside town and the nearest pub, just a few minutes down the hill, is very friendly. There are walks galore straight from the front door - what a gem!

Lovely relaxed cottage which is truly dog friendly
The cottage was in a great location with lots right on the doorstep. It was nice to go and stay somewhere which was dog friendly and had a relaxed feel. The garden was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views.
Communication with Madeleine the owner was great, she provided us with lots of information about the area and things to do.
On arriving at the cottage we had a treat of scones with jam and cream waiting for us and the dogs received a goodie bag too.
Overall a really nice stay in a lovely cottage

A dog welcoming oasis of comfort and charm in a fantastic location
From the moment you wander up the path waiting for the cottage to reveal itself you know this is something special. The owners have put so much care and attention into the way they have presented the house with pretty, attractive, quirky details everywhere. It’s very warm and comfortable for both dogs and humans. We found that the kitchen was remarkably well equipped and the beds delightfully comfy resulting in several excellent nights sleep. It is only a short walk into Looe (uphill on the way back, but only for a few minutes). The owner provided lots of information on places to take your dog which really helped us plan our days. Looe itself is very dog friendly, we had no trouble finding pubs and restaurants that allowed us in with our four legged companion. Just a few minutes walk down the hill from the house is a very well stocked shop/deli too. If it is a cosy home from home that welcomes both you and your dogs in equal measure then you can’t go wrong reserving this place.

Just Perfect
We stayed over Christmas with our 3 dogs, Madeleine was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. We were greeted with treats for us and the dogs, the cottage is a good size and has everything you could want. It's in a really good location, close to the town and beach. We all have a fab time and will definitely be back.

Beautiful home from home
We had a beautiful stay in dog-friendly Nancecliffe Cottage. The property had everything we could’ve wished for and was a real home from home, beautifully decorated with a nautical theme throughout which I particularly loved as it reflected my Cornish seafaring family roots. The elavated position of the cottage had beautiful views from the deck patio area towards the sea and was just a short walk down the hill in to Looe town with its plentiful array of shops, pubs and restaurants. Sadly the weather was wet and windy during our stay but we still went out and about during the day and it was so nice to return home to a lovely, warm cottage at the end of our daily excursions. Sadly we didn’t have a dog to take with us but it was so nice to see how welcome our four legged friends were made throughout Looe. I would certainly like to return to beautiful Nancecliffe Cottage in the future, it’s a real gem!

A great break away for all the family
After a very long, scary, journey in torrential rain down to Nancecliff Cottage we were very ready for our break when we arrived late!
As soon as we arrived, our not so good moods changed to great pleasure when walked in to such a lovely cottage which had something for everyone one.
Firstly the cream tea was such a lovely touch to start off what truly was a great break away. We came very prepared but didn't need to, everything was there. My two teenage girls were happy that there was "Alexa"& free WiFi. All 3 dogs were happy with all their gifts and everything else that was there for them. I really felt so relaxed for the first time having our furry friends with us! I felt that this accomodation was as much for them as us. It truly was dog friendly.
The beds were so comfy and we all said how well we slept. The views outside were beautiful but left me wishing it was a hot summers day, so may have to go back one day.
Most of all, I have to say that Madeline was so attentive and made us feel very welcome with numerous messages to check all was ok, she went above & beyond expectations.
Will be definitely keeping Nancecliff in mind for any future visits to Looe.
