Overall, our family (and dogs) had a great stay at this property in Brunswick, GA. It was our first time staying in Brunswick and we really enjoyed exploring the historic neighborhood and downtown area. The property was clean and cozy and met all of our needs. The one negative was that the property had a bit of a musty smell. That being said, it was clean, functional for cooking, and very relaxing after days at the beach. We will definitely consider stay here again or the adjoining property in the future.

We were very happy with our accommodations and location. The cottage had everything that was needed. It was both clean and comfortable.

This was the perfect get away spot for us. It is a converted Garage part of a lovely historical home. You do need to be careful upstairs it is a v shaped ceiling. Great for me being a short gal. Very tidy, a lovely welcome card and a gift. Just had an issue trying to figure out the tv thing, but probably human error. Great location, very receptive manager. Will come again.

My family enjoyed our time in Brunswick. Great location for walking and checking out downtown Brunswick. We slept very well and made simple meals in the little kitchen.

Great property. Watch your head upstairs if you are a tall person. I bumped my head a few times. Very cozy and well furnished! A most relaxing place.

We loved staying here and being so close to the venu our friends got married at and downtown! Would absolutely stay again!

The cottage was very clean and comfy. We loved the location and enjoyed our weekend stay!

Right in the Historic district! We had such a great time walking around the area. Great location! The privacy of the cottage was perfect. It's centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go. We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing time. We really enjoyed the patio and lounging on the huge sofa! The cottage has its quirks, but we didn't mind at all. We were there to relax and have fun and mission accomplished !

We went for Jekyll Islands Shrimp & Grits Festival. The cottage was just as descripted. Within walking distance of downtown Brunswick. The neighborhood was very quiet and there was plenty of yard for our dogs.

The Cottage was the perfect place to stay for a quick weekend trip. It was clean, well stocked, quiet, and close to everything. I love that I was allowed to bring my dog - he enjoyed hanging on the patio while I worked.

Cute cottage, perfect location for us as we had early medical appointments in Brunswick and it was easy to get to either ST simons or Jekyll Island to meet friends for dinner.

This guest house is just as pictured. There is a king bed and day bed upstairs (looked like it would fit one adult or two small kids). The king bed is comfortable and my middle school daughters said the sofa was comfortable too. This property is near the Baptist church and a couple blocks from restaurants and shops. We loved walking to breakfast at Daddy Cates (delicious) which was recommended to us by a friend who lives on Jekyll Island. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. We were out a lot walking our dog at all hours and never felt unsafe. This is a very close drive to Jekyll Island which is why we visited. The Holly Jolly Jekyll light show, fireworks, Driftwood Beach, and festive "cottages" did not disappoint. We contacted the property manager a few days before for the code and she responded right away. Stacie was awesome! If you don't mind the leaning ceilings on the second floor (which fondly reminded me of my grandmother's house), you will enjoy this house.

Nice place to stay for a night or two to check out the shops and restaurants in Brunswick. We also took the Lady Jane Shrimp boat tour. Loved the trip and the restaurant located in the front of the boat, the Marshside grille.

This was a lovely little place! It was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities of home, including a washer/dryer and little dishwasher. It was within walking distance of some great restaurants, including coffee shops and the brewery, and easy driving distance of the islands. All of my communication was answered promptly. Parking was close and plentiful. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

We’ve vacationed in St Simons many times, but this was our first time staying in Brunswick instead of on the island and we weren’t sure what to expect. We ended up loving this cute cottage and were absolutely enchanted with downtown Brunswick and the historic district! The cottage had plenty of space for our family of four. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It was very clean. The courtyard was beautiful, especially at night when the lights were on. The neighborhood was very safe and walkable. Do yourself a favor and walk or drive through the entire historic district- it’s absolutely lovely. The downtown area had many shops and several places to eat, all walkable from the cottage. The only hitch we had is that we didn’t receive our check in code before we arrived. However, I was able to quickly and easily reach the property manager by cell so no harm done. All in all, we are glad we stayed here, and hope to return soon!

Nice but not worth the money and was upset at having to pay extra insurance. Upstairs loft where bed is has multiple cross beams and you have to be careful to not smack your head. Not good for someone over 5ft tall. Bathroom downstairs so be careful you do not smack your head if you have to go down at night. Couch in living room is very broken down and lumpy, not comfortable at all. If you have a vehicle, you have to share drive way with main house which was completely full of vehicles (thankfully we came by boat). Location is excellent and walking distance to EVERYTHING in Brunswick. Nice but too expensive!!!

Lovely stay over on our way home from the mountains to FL. Easy check in/check out. Beautifully decorated and all the comforts of home. Very comfy king bed upstairs and large comfy couch downstairs. Well stocked mini kitchen. Historic neighborhood with mighty old live oaks one of our favorites. Lots to see along the Golden Isles. So glad we found the Elegant Southern Cottage!

The property was nice and laid out as expected. There were pros and cons to the stay however. The key code was never sent to me prior to check in. I called the property manager and was greeted with an immediate voicemail. I left a message thinking I would get a quick call back. After 30 minutes of sitting outside the property I contacted the owner and was given the key code to enter the cottage. I didn’t get a call back from the property manager for over 2 hours. Upon entering the property I was greeted with a half smoked cigarette and a lighter on the entry table. Those were the cons. The property is situated on a great street in historic Brunswick. It is about 10 minutes to the entry of Jekyll island. The cottage was stocked with towels and could easily sleep 6. Overall we had a great stay.

Wonderful guest cottage.
This is a wonderful place for a couple with pets. The neighborhood is historical and eclectic. The furnishings are exactly what is needed and the kitchen is easy to use and clean. A very nice little dishwasher makes cooking clean up very easy. Laundry machines are very nice for an extended stay. Owners and property manager are attentive and friendly. Overall a great place to stay in Brunswick and convenient to out islands.

I stayed in the cottage while in Brunswick for work. At the time of my stay, no one was renting the main house so I was able to park in the driveway and come and go as needed for my early to late work hours. My job required my coworker and I to have a large outside space to work in and the lovely courtyard served this purpose perfectly. The cottage was so cute and clean! Walking distance to the main downtown Brunswick strip and delicious restaurants. I was staying alone (female) and despite the large, curtain/blind-less windows surrounding the living room, still felt safe during my stay. Highly recommend this location!

Beautiful, comfortable, great location!
My husband and I stayed at this lovely cottage for a whole month! Loved everyday! Beautifully decorated, spotless, and very comfortable. Great location! Short ride to Jekyll and St Simons and an easy walk to the downtown! Historic, quiet neighborhood on a beautiful tree lined street. The property manager was a phone call away and responded to any questions we had. Would love to return next year!

A wow home away from home
We had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage that was truly a great home away from home for the two of us for a week. The location on Union Street, with much within easy walking distance, was also a good base for visiting all the interesting and picturesque places the area has to offer. Internally, everything was of a high quality and well provided for. We had a few problems getting in and out of the shower without spraying the floor, and in getting the oven to light, but these were trivial compared to the excellent and comfortable facilities made available to us! Oh, and the terrace out front was wonderful!

The perfect fit for the 2 of us & our mini golden doodle.
This carriage house sits in the historic part of Brunswick. It's surrounded by many beautiful Victorian homes and you really get the flavor of the community. It's an easy walk to downtown, easy walk to several of the squares to walk dogs. I play lots of golf and it's 15 minutes to both the Jekyll Island and St. Simon Island courses.
We had a few questions for property manager Stacie and she was quick to respond and fully answered our inquiry. The interior has everything we needed and the upstairs bed is roomy and comfortable. Not a lot of closet space but for us two 60-somethings it was not an issue. The king size bed is upstairs, but the stairs are very well lit and easy to access.
Owner Rose has done a good job of furnishing the interior of the house. It's comfortable and all the amenities were in working order, We stayed here for 2 weeks and the washer and dryer was a real important feature. We parked off the street and just steps from the house door.
Brunswick is a small but interesting town. While this house is not the biggest, it was the perfect fit for us old but active folks. Our one year old dog also acclimated there.
We hope to visit it again next year.

Quant, homey, cozy, dog friendly, would return
We stayed in the cottage from Oct 12-19, 2018. We had a few hiccups during our stay but they were all kindly and quickly addressed and taken care of. The washer quit working a few times and gave us error codes. The bathroom was not cleaned very well, fecal matter still on the toilet seat. And there was mold or mildew on the upstairs ceiling around the light fixtures. We had some trouble getting the oven to come on but that was our fault, we didn’t know how to work the gas. All of that being said, the property manager Stacey was quick with each issue we had and very kind and helpful. We were able to fix the washer ourselves a couple times then Stacey came by once and fixed it herself. Stacey offered to have the cleaning lady come back and clean the bathroom but I wiped it up myself and that was fine. The most concerning was the mold/mildew upstairs which was not really addressed and for that reason we ended up sleeping downstairs on the couches, but we were okay with it. We were even offered the oven in the big house. Everything ended up being great and most of all we fell in love with Jekyll Island. It’s our new favorite beach destination! The property manager Rose was a complete dream to work with, I wish all VRBO owners were as wonderful as her. She let us change our dates a couple times due to two hurricanes. The cottage was cozy and cute, had everything you needed to cook small meals and eat, plenty of towels, and we loved being able to bring our fur kiddos. The patio was nice and the property was well kept. The location was great and in a nice part of town. Even though we had a few little snags, we truly enjoyed ourselves very much and would certainly return again and recommend to others. We were accommodated well and treated like we were appreciated. There’s plenty to do around. Mary Ross waterfront park was just down the road a couple miles and was a nice little spot. We enjoyed the lighthouse on St. Simons and Mellow Mushroom. Tortuga Jacks and Driftwood Bistro on Jekyll were great places to eat. Driftwood beach and bicycling on Jekyll are a must. The sea turtle center was interesting and fun. There’s Target, Walmart, and grocery stores close by. We loved everything about this trip and can’t wait to return! We hope to visit the cottage we called home for a week again next year.

Nice neighborhood nice area to visit.
The house was great. The king size bed is worn out and needs replacing. Everything else was fine.

Quiet Location
This cottage was well equipped and in a very quiet neighborhood. Convenient to both Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island, this is a great location for day trips in the area. The one issue we had during our stay was with limited water pressure in the shower. I understand that's been addressed since our stay. (That's why 4/5 stars) If you are looking for a unique place to stay while you're in the Brunswick area, give this cottage a try.
