Amazing place to stay, right in the centre of Sandwich - lots of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Very comfortable and spacious barge with all the facilities you could need. Great communication from the owners and we were met in person and given a full tour with everything explained. Secure parking nearby too.
No problems for us at all!

We enjoyed the experience of being on a tidal river, as it was something we hadn't done before.
We enjoyed ( weather permitting) being sat on the deck having a glass of wine.

Very quirky in a lovely location. And, taking into account that it’s an old barge, very well appointed and comfortable.
Access via a very steep gangplank, exacerbated by very high tides during our visit. Its just one of those necessary evils!
4.2
The boat is lovely both inside and on deck.
Also location.
Far to small for 6 adults.
Really only two sleeping areas.

Completely everything
Absolutely nothing

comfortable property with every facility
difficult to access when the tides low.

Situated in the heart of a lovely historic town with lovely cafes and restaurants nearby. This accommodation was ideal for our short stay. Difficult to access boat via a steep gangplank during low tide. Otherwise comfortable and clean with lots of thoughtful , extra facilities.
We were hoping for a more picturesque view , boat yard facing us . This didn’t worry us too much as lots of beautiful scenery nearby.

Fab find located in the wonderful town of Sandwich, Pinky and Samir were great, Samir met us on arrival with some great tips for dinner etc, they were on hand if we needed anything .... There's also an app with some great local knowledge
Nothing!

the barge itself was lovely and the location
no instruction manual at property.
heating and hot water on timer so we were freezing which isn’t helpful when the weather is freezing cold outside.
no hot water for a shower. no drinking water and expected to clean away rubbish and strip beds after paying an £120 cleaning fee. it’s a complete rip off. would never recommend this place.
shouldn’t have to keep texting the owner with questions. already messaged them within hours of our stay because they didn’t give any wifi details.
we had a booking for two nights but only stayed for one night as the conditions were unacceptable.

Our boys (aged 2 and 4) LOVED our stay on the boat and keep talking about it several weeks on. Beautifully furnished, centrally located and everything you need for a few nights away from home - with the added wow factor of being on a boat, not in a hotel. Great adventure. Free, easy parking just across the water.

What a fabulous experience - the barge was so wonderful and more than met my expectations. Archie was a very kind and attentive host and we really appreciated her little touches.

The boat was very cozy and welcoming with anything you need on board. Comfy beds and good layout of the boat. Didn't expect 2 bathrooms, that was a bonus!!!
The owner of the boat is a lovely person to meet 🙂 She gave us plenty of tips and suggestions. Plenty of places to eat and drink out, reasonably cheap. Loads to explore around. Even took a bus to Canterbury!
There was nothing not to like. The only suggestion I have is to install mesh round the rails on the top deck to provide more security if children and pets are on board

We were down in Kent for my Father’s funeral. He was a mariner so it seemed fitting to stay on the barge. With 6 of us we were worried about space but it was perfect.
Archie was also the perfect host and made sure we were well looked after. I’d thoroughly recommend the barge as accommodation.
Nothing, it was great.

It’s a lovely, quirky, spacious boat and we enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to have a wide choice of restaurants and shops literally just steps away. Even though we were so close to the centre of town the boat was peaceful, quiet and private. Archie was very helpful and is an attentive host...nice touches such as milk in the fridge, some snacks and a bottle of wine were waiting when we arrived. The barge was well supplied with hand soap, shampoo, body wash, washing up liquid, tea, coffee etc. We didn’t cook during our stay but the equipment was there to rustle up breakfast or a light meal if we had wanted to. Depending on the tide the gangplank did get quite steep at times which wasn’t a problem for us, but I imagine it could be tricky for some. We usually stay in hotels so it was a real treat to stay somewhere different...I would stay again for sure.
There wasn’t anything I disliked. The only small negative was that the outdoor cushions hadn’t been bought inside and were soaking wet. This was a shame as it would have been nice to sit up on the lovely deck for a little while. Maybe next time!
