Excellent facilities & very comfortable. Neat & clean inside. The double beds were very comfortable. Located in a very quiet street there was little to no noise. The property did look a little shabby on the outside & was located close to an industrial area. However there was little to no industrial noise when we stayed.

Family night away
Great place to stay. Walking distance to town and mostly quiet. Only thing I could say is maybe some electric blankets in front room as it got very cold in early morning and didn't find extra blankets until next morning but otherwise loved staying here.

Good dog friend accommodation
Pet friendly house and secure yard. Can’t really fault it except the kitchen cupboards could do with a really good sling clean / wipe over.

Above and Beyond Expectations!
We were really impressed with the comfort and general standard of the accommodation. Three great bedrooms, a spacious living area, dual bathrooms and the whole setup fully equipped.
Heaps of securely fenced lawn yardage for the pooch, under-cover off-street (and out of sight) parking, too...
The location was VERY close to the town centre, but surprisingly quiet.
Thanks heaps, Michael. We'll most definitely be back!!

Most unsatisfactory
Location overlooking industrial carpark was dismal. Fencing was seriously inadequate - main gate is not attached and just falls over and path gate has no latch. For a ‘dog friendly’ property this meant either cage the dogs in small enclosure in back yard, or keep all doors to the house shut for their safety. Given the windows can’t be opened this made for a stifling experience. The back bedroom was so hot my mother couldn’t use it to rest in. Finally - to let the home to five adults without mentioning that the dining table only seats four and there isn’t even a spare chair of appropriate height to squeeze in a fifth person seemed most unfair. I’m glad the weather was great - because playing the board games we brought along would not have been possible. Our day trips were fabulous - love the NW coast of Tassie. Also the terrific heated pool facilities next door were a definite plus.

After a long drive, we eventually pulled up at an older style cottage in an industrial area of Smithton. After trying to get into the front door, we found that you had to wriggle the key a few times to get it to open. The house seemed clean and neat on the inside . We found it nearly impossible to open the back door and the glass was cracked in it. It looked like it was just about falling off its hinges. We were led to believe that this was a pet friendly property as I travel with 3 elderly dogs. The run that was up in the fartherest corner of the yard was unkept and overrun with long grass. We found that the ensuite bathroom light flickered until you kept turning it on and off. Basically none of the doors inside would stay closed, we ended up jamming them closed! Went to use the grill on the stove. Itwas in such bad condition that if used would have probably caused a fire. Then we noticed a dozen old mouse traps shoved down beside the stove.....not a good look!Lots of upkeep needed done on this little house. I was surprised really as it looked great on the website. All I can say is that horrible house location, house needing repairs, but at least it was central to the local shops.

Pet friendly
Excellent communication from owner. Very well equiped home & super clean. Good lighting for reading in bedroom & sitting room plus the only place I have stayed in in the last 18-24mths that has functioning outside lighting! This may sound like a trivial issue but if you are packing or unpacking late or early it’s really important plus super useful if you are using the outside with children or pets. Convenient location but in an industrial area so not a pretty outlook. Not fully fenced but has a new very robust dog run at the very back of the large block. Overall an impressive property, many thanks to Michael & Grace!

Clean and central location in Smithton, Tasmania
Well presented home on the inside, close to shops and amenities in Smithton, Tasmania. Enough room to sleep 8 people comfortably. Great location as a base to explore NW Tasmania, we spent 3 days exploring the Tarkine, Stanley, Dip Falls and many other points of interest.

Spacious house but a bit tired
Lots of room with three large bedrooms and two bathrooms and a serviceable living area. The house is a bit tired and the outside in definite need of some TLC. Admittedly it did rain pretty well the entire time we were in Smithton which would make any place a little depressing!

A pleasant experience
A delightful old house and equipped with all we could want. Is within a commercial area but noise wasn't a problem. Would definitely stay again.

We wished we could have stayed longer. The whole set up and thought that had gone into the property and what it offered was exceptional. The best accommodation we had in the month we spent in Tasmania

Grace's cottage was more than we expected. While the location is nothing spectacular, it is central
Grace's cottage was more than we expected. While the location is nothing spectacular, it is central to Smithton and in close proximity to shops etc. The cottage itself is very well appointed, very clean and spacious and very comfortable. The added extras of cooked breakfast provisions were a truly welcome bonus. If we are in need of accommodation in the Smithton area again, I'll be looking at Grace's cottage first.
