A gem of a hotel in Ahangama! Ocean front with clean and comfortable rooms and hot water showers! Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The family that runs this hotel are so very sweet and very accommodating! Great location to so many restaurants and surfing & swimming beaches. Easily access a scooter rental as well. Would definitely stay here again!

By far the best accomodation we’ve experienced in Sri Lanka. We absolutely loved our time at New Ocean Vibes, a home away from home. We booked for 5 nights and ended up staying one month. It’s owned by the sweetest and most welcoming family. The big breakfasts are amazing and varies from day to day. Big, clean rooms with huge and comfortable beds. We must recommend booking the king room with sea view. You open up the doors and lay in bed watching nothing but ocean and hearing nothing but waves. An easy paddle out to Midigama Right and Lazy Left from straight in front of New Ocean Vibes. The owners organised scooter rental, laundry service and transportation, everything we needed for a super comfortable stay. The location is great, quiet and secluded but close to restaurants, shops, other surf breaks, etc. Couldn’t recommend this place more!! Thank you so much for everything guys, we can’t wait to be back! 🙌❤️

The view out onto the ocean and the quality of the room and furnishings was very good. The location was also good as a sandy beach is 50m away and the surfing beach is probably 200m away. The breakfast was great. The beach just outside the back garden was OK for paddling but onto rock and coral within a few metres, so we did not try swimming. The main road is outside the front garden, so Tuktuk or bus travel in any direction is very easy. The train station is also within walking distance. We are not surfers, but watching the skills of the experts at Midigama was interesting and entertaining.
Two minor issues come to mind. Communication might have been a problem as the owner and his wife speak some basic English. However, the eldest son is very proficient. The beachfront location is not on a sandy beach, but this is not really an issue as the sandy beach area is 50m away.

The location is directly on the water and if you surf, you can paddle out to Midigama Right from the hotel. The family was so hospitable, including the kids who taught us how to play cricket and carrom. We loved the huge, delicious breakfasts each day. And the rooms were large with both a fan and air conditiong. The wifi was weak but that wasn't a big issue for our travels. Overall, this was a great place to vacation and we would stay here again.

Very good accommodation. We had a wonderful time and extended our stay to 4 weeks. Located directly by the water, you can do a surf spot check for multiple spots, which are either in walking distance, or you paddle out straight from there. Each day the host prepared a big breakfast with fruit platter, coffee, omelette, roti and more. We also had some traditional curry for dinner a couple of times and were offered local treats and snacks on occasion. The family was very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay very much.

The whole family is super nice, and helpful.
Little beach right in front and the terrace is sweet to hang out (away from the roadside:)).
Breakfast is awesome.
Perfect place to chill out for a while.
Thank you

Central location if you want to check out the local beaches. Very friendly family, very helpful. Good breakfast. Clean room with hot water even when there’s no power
It gets really hot even at night, and with the fan on- but they are installing aircon soon so then this won’t be a problem at all.

It was our best stay in Sri Lanka. The room was very cosy, spacious and clean, with the shelf cupboard and hot water. The view was just stunning: the turquoise ocean water just a couple of meters away. But the most amazing part was a breakfast: every day huge tastiest portions of local breakfast with lots of different fruits. That was my favourite part of the day!:) And of course very nice and helpful owner family. I will definitely come back!

Paradise beach right in front of the hotel. One of the best breakfasts I've had on the island. Spotless rooms, good fan and big washing room. Fast WiFi. Really comfortable, new mattress and clean linen.
There's not that many shops or restaurants around but then again it's a very peaceful place

If you go to this area, this is the place for you! Very beautiful house in such a nice aren - 20 meters to beautiful sand beach, and 5 km to lovely surfing in Weligama. Lakshan and his family are such nice and helpful people, and will help you with everything. They arranged a fishing trip on a local boat, and cooked the most amazing food. What a superb stay we had!

We had the room with sea view and that was absolutely perfect. We slept with the door open listening the waves.
The common space for breakfast was nice.
The older son Lakshan is a surfer and speak very well English so he could tell us about the surf spots etc.
No AC so in the evening the room was quiet hot for sleeping.

Had a great time at New Ocean Vibes...you can paddle to the surf spot lazy right from there and there's a really nice beach for swimming too!!
The family that owns the place is super lovely and you feel right at home there. Thanks for everything!!

Super kind and always helpful little family running this nice place right by the ocean, just at 50mts paddling from the surf spot Lazy Right. The owners are very good people! Kumara, Thushari, Lakshan, the little Shashen, Sarát and the Bull the dog will all do something to make your stay special!
Right in front of the guesthouse there is a private tiny sandy beach which is the starting point to paddle to the line up. Very strategic position if you are there for surfing.
In general the space is pleasant, nice and clean. Our room got a garden corner with hammock, table and chairs. You have space for your boards in the garden, outside shower (of course you have one in your room also!), nice big common terrace with a big table where they serve breakfast (every day of the week there is a different and very rich breakfast menu all with local dishes! Do not miss the breakfast!) and Kumara and Thushari will prepare yummy meals if you fancy it! That's a special highlight about New Ocean Vibes: we had dinner almost everyday there as the food was super delicious, fresh and homemade at super fair prices! We tried other restaurants in the area, but to be honest, we've never found the same quality, freshness and...quantity we found at Kumara's!
If you need some tips about surfing, best spots, board rentals or anything else, the young and helpful Lakshan is the guy to talk with! He will help you as much as he can with all the local best tips!
When we'll be back to Sri Lanka, we'll choose New Ocean Vibes again! Good job guys! 100% recommended!!!
All perfect!
