What a jewel of a property! The joyful frogs welcomed me in and made me smile! Mid century space that was super cozy. Loved that King sized bed.

This was the easiest transaction and perfect homey accommodations.
We were in town for a concert series and didn't spend much time in the space but it was cozy and has lots of personality. We were also on the run too much to enjoy the great patio but it was awesome knowing that we could and would feel comfortable doing so.
The communication and Doug checking in made us feel like we were staying in an old friend's guest house.

This small one room addition to a home is really nicely appointed and I had no idea there were so many frog/toad accessories! I really appreciate the care it took to make this small space so inviting! Owner is very friendly and we had a great time!! Would stay here again!

A big thank you to Cathy and Doug for being so welcoming and keeping such a wonderful space! Their apartment was a welcome change from all the incredibly boring and cheap feeling places out there. They have an eye for original art (frog art, too) that will surprise you with its delicacy and craftsmanship. All around, Toad Hill was a sight for sore eyes. I cant wait to come back.

My parents stayed here over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay. The place is very unique and definitely lived up to the property name as there were decorative frogs everywhere!! So fun! The property owner was extremely nice and friendly and assisted with anything we needed. We stayed with our two dogs and he had no problems with that! Great stay and we will stay here again when in the area!

It is clear that Doug really takes pride in providing a perfect ambiance and mood for his guests at Toad Hill. I arrived well after midnight after a long day of traveling and moving my son into his dorm, and the place was clean, gently lit inside and out, and so inviting after my hectic day. I had messaged that I may be after midnight arriving so leaving lights on for me was very thoughtful. I stayed for a couple of days while shopping the area for a place to live and the location was convenient to everything, but tucked away in its own quiet space. Doug was easy and quick to communicate with. I highly recommend Toad Hill.

This is a great little place to stay. Doug is very kind & easy to reach if you need anything. If you prefer pitch black @ night just let Doug know & he will turn off porch lights. There are some stairs. The bed is a King.

This is an amazing stay for an amazing price! The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was quiet and safe. We really enjoyed the outdoor area at night. It was a quick and simple ride to Neyland stadium. When planning our trip for a Vols game, all the hotels in the area were over $1000 per night! And would not have felt nearly as homey as Toad hill! We loved it and will absolutely be back the next time we need to come to Knoxville!

Great Stay, Great Location, Great Hosts
We were blessed with another great VRBO! Doug and Kathy were great hosts! The property was just as described. We stayed for two days for Kenneth Copeland at the Knoxville Convention Center and a wedding Saturday night at Bridgewater Place. Both were no more than 15 minutes away. The property us secluded and quiet, yet 30 seconds away from a major thoroughfare and highway access.
Doug provided anything we needed and we enjoyed use of the grill (charcoal was provided) and fire pit (wood stacked close). The mini fridge came in handy. They are plenty of restaurants close for those that want to eat out or enjoy the city.
We had a great stay and our only regret is we forgot to write in his guest book...so we'll be back! (And we'll bring a frog 🐸)

Love the frogs.
Clean, comfortable accommodation with whimsical frog theme. Be aware that there are stairs up to the area and if you are older or handicapped this might be an issue.

Puppy Heaven
My wife and I are retired. We visited Tennessee to get a jump on spring, as early spring in Wisconsin is harsh and winter-like. Much of our recreation involves playing outside with our dog. Doug and Cathy's property has a huge back yard and since it is isolated, we were able to exercise our dog playing fetch with her off-leash. Vista Road has little traffic with large, nicely landscaped yards, and it was a joy to take walks with Tess, our dog, up and down the street. The hosts were friendly and would go out of their way to help with advice about the area and things to do. Privacy was never an issue though they were always happy to talk. The rental unit is modest, but has a new mattress on a king sized bed. The unit is snug, comfortable and soundproof. All in all, it was a great value for a week of spring-like weather.

Very quite and cozy location. Perfect for our visit. Had to leave early because of potential snow and icy weather, but still a great trip. Would certainly stay here again if visiting the area. Doug was a great host.

Overall, Great Experience!
Simple and beautiful property. Doug was very helpful and gracious! He is also a professional musician and song writer! I enjoyed seeing some of his performances on Youtube on the television included in the room. Pets were permitted and had the freedom to run to heart's content in a spacious backyard. A perfect outdoor lounging area with firepit was available with ample dry firewood. Knoxville/Louisville, TN is a beautiful area with a natural beauty that makes us want to return to the area! Hope we have an opportunity to stay here again!!!

Outstanding Accommodations
Toad Hill offers everything busy travelers want! The hosts are so very special and accessible whether you are actually there or communicating! The tiny details in the unit are remarkable and it’s well-stocked! Add comfortable beds and it’s perfect! (Now that’s just the inside!!!!)
There are not enough stars to rate breezeway and deck. Quiet, beautiful, inviting and stunning come to mind to describe it. Hot morning coffee in a rocking chair looking at the mountains is just heavenly.
Thanks Doug and Cathy!
