Being greeted by (fenced off) adorable alpaca and deer on entry was unexpected and so beautiful! the house has an amazing view over Rotorua with glistening lights at night and steam clouds over the lake in the morning. It was quiet, clean, and spacious. Perfect for a technology free weekend away from work and social media notifications as there was no wifi - though mobile data does work if you really need it. Bring some card/board games with you and have a lovely time.
There was no hot water when we arrived, this was working by the morning though.

The beds were comfortable and clean , the view is nice once you look past the surrounding scrapyard
The house is old and rundown , in real need of some proper maintenance and TLC, the smell of mould was everywhere and almost overpowering , the house and especially the roof is infested with rats (struggled to sleep with all the scratching) the fireplace was left dirty and with no firelighters or dry wood. The area around the house is cluttery and dirty and numerous scrapped cars in your view. Very expensive for what you get for a night (money could have been spent much better in a hotel).

This property is absolutely beautiful! We had fantastic time there and was disappointed we couldn’t stay longer. My two young boys loved the space in the property to run and place and the grounds out side are perfect. The view is just breathtaking and my husband and I have said that we would want to come back here again when we visit NZ. We got up early to watch the sunrise and I would recommend it to anyone who stays. Only downside for us was there was no Bath for the children, but that didn’t spoil anything. Such a beautiful property!

Great view, big spacious house.
Kitchen could have been cleaner. Firewood was wet so fire was hard to light and keep alight, which meant a cold night in June.

Location was good as close to luge
Had no wifi and had 4 children, this needs to be stated in booking. outside of property was really rundown and view was ruined by junk in surrounding paddocks. Wouldn't recommend or stay again for high price.

It was nice to have the heaters on when we arrived. How great to have The alpacas in the paddock next door!!
This house just lacked any kind of care or attention. The kitchen contained very little in the way of being able to cook or prepare a meal. Curtains were hanging from their rails, door handles were broken. The comfort factor in general was severely lacking.

Best view in town!
Untidy grounds and broken chairs and things lying around the unit.

Fabulous view and a large living area
There was a fire, but no wood or means to have it going, so it was quite cold as the heaters werent big enough to heat the house.
Needed more kitchen utensils, glasses and plates.
A heated towel rail would be good as well.

Everything was just amazing! The location is perfect with an amazing view, even though it was freezing temperatures outside having the heaters on heated up the whole place & kept us nice and warm. The host was very helpful & lovely. The home exceeded my expectations & I will definitely be booking again!!!!
Couldn’t fault anything.
