About this cottage rental

A quiet little studio cottage for two in charming Blackheath, the perfect getaway and Tree Change from the hustle and bustle of city life. This property is located in the secluded back garden of a residential home. Separate access.

Queen sized bed, sofa, TV (sorry, free-to-air only), DVD player, toaster, coffee plunger fridge, microwave, electric frypan, portable hot plate, slow cooker, spa bath / shower and best of all: Peace and Quiet!

Minutes from Blackheath Village with its little shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, Megalong Valley, Govett's Leap lookout, hiking trails, community markets and much more. Ten minutes drive (or a short train ride from the nearby railway station) from scenic, bustling Katoomba and lovely Leura .

Travel cot available on request for those with infants but wishing to get away for a weekend. (Baby sitting available by arrangement and at additional cost, subject to availability). Folding single bed and folding sofa bed available.

BBQ grill available for use (subject to availability).

Tea,coffee, hot chocolate available. 1 litre milk supplied on arrival
Bed linens and towels supplied.
Wood supplied for slow combustion fire.

This property is non smoking.

Guests are able to arrive as late as they wish as the key is left available to access at any time.

The cottage was quaint and cosy. Olwen had provided absolutely everything we needed and more. The cottage was always warm due to the fact that there was a woodfire with plenty of wood, plus a fan heater (for when I could not get the fire going:) ) The bed was super comfortable with an electric blanket and several covers. The kitchenette was small but very well equipped. The bathroom was quite luxurious with a large supply of products such as shower gel, shampoo, and body lotion. The bath is the biggest I have been in and the shower was spectacular. If you need a fantastic place to relax in, the Evenstar cottage is the place for you !

We so enjoyed our little break! So many thoughtful inclusions that made the stay feel so homely. The fire was so cosy and calming, and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a frequent happy surprise. It’s an easy walk to shops and a great pub for dinner. Thanks Olwen!

When you are visiting family and you want to get the adult kids out of your hair, you want a quiet getaway like Evenstar Cottage. It is spacious and well presented. Olwen and his wife were charming and the bird life fascinating to watch each morning and evening. Heating is no problem with a fire and other heaters(if you need them) as well as electric blanket, heated towell rails and floor in the bathroom. It is off the beaten track - just, yet close to town and walks etc... We're comng back definitely!!

Thank goodness all the wood was free! Very chilly without wood fire. Once a fire going very cozy. Brand new bathroom! Will be super nice once it is all renovated! Kitchen nice but upgrade in appliances available would be good for those that want to cook. Loved the big fridge. Felt very safe and love Blackheath.

This cottage is the perfect weekend getaway to stay at in the season of autumn. We had everything we needed and more, Olwen and her family were lovely and responded quickly to communication. We even had left behind items arranged to be picked up in Sydney thanks to her kindness. A must stay cottage if you are travelling to the mountains this year!

We just loved this little cottage. It has been set up with all the luxuries you would need for a romantic weekend away, or as a well equipped place to self cater for your big days out exploring the Blue Mountains. Would love to come back in Summer and see the beautiful gardens in full bloom.

From first contact with Olwen to checkout Evenstar Cottage was the perfect place to spend a week in Blackheath. Olwen was extremely accommodating even allowing us to store some furniture we had bought in her garage. The cottage is just as described and has everything you need for a longer stay. Great value, very comfortable and a location convenient to everything Blackheath has to offer.

Quiet, clean, warm and relaxing getaway. Hosts were nearby offering advice only if needed. A lot of nice extras as a surprise on arrival. Shops within walking distance. A lot to see nearby with a short drive to most places. Stunning escarpment photo opportunities.

Cabin is spacious in pretty garden setting. It needs some upgrading of bathroom but hosts told us that's in planning stages. Would benefit from a declutter and new lounges but was comfortable and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Hosts were very pleasant and prompt in giving us all the information we needed as soon as we booked. Close to Blackheath which was convenient. Price probably a bit high for quality of facilities . When renovations are completed it would be worth that price.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Evenstar Cottage for a long weekend. Set amongst a lovely garden in a very quiet area, it is the perfect place to unwind and escape the city. Everything we needed was provided. We would definitely stay again.

The place was fabulous with all the amenities you need to stay. The cottage is surrounded by greenery in a very quiet area. The fireplace was perfect addition for cold nights and some wine. It's close to anything: center or shower drive to Katoomba. It's a truly perfect spot to relax.

This is a fabulous studio-style cottage hidden away in the Blue Mountains. It has a lovely wood burning slow combustion heater, incredibly comfy bed, spar bath, fantastic hot water for the shower, and even a small essential oils diffuser. The owners couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend treating yourself to a stay in this lovely little home-from-home.

Beautiful little cottage. Own side entrance giving us privacy. Beautiful plants in bloom. We didn't know how to put on the log heater but it wasn't really that cold. Cozy aatmosphere anyway. Bed was awesome for us. Lol. Thank you for a great stay.
