Painfully uncomfortable and undervalued as a paying guest

Location was central, and restaurant downstairs was convenient and food wonderful. The room was clean at least

Could no one turn the fridge on knowing we were booked? Is there no way some milk could be provided for a cup of coffee?? Creamer powder is not milk… and even a small UHT milk isn’t hard to supply. The bed gave us both incredibly sore backs after the first couple of hours of sleep which left us awake most of the night. A very long and uncomfortable night and the back pain is still present tonight (the following night.) Thank goodness the hot shower was decent! Pity about the lack of ventilation though….made for zero visability once it steamed up… no where to place clean clothes or toiletries in the bathroom was a pain too…. Only place would have been the closed lid toilet or the floor… no thanks. Bar lady was pretty bland on check in…. A smile wouldn’t hurt, I just felt like I was an inconvenience….and how about “enjoy your stay” or “let us know if you need anything” customer service is valuable. I’ll never stay again nor will I encourage anyone else to.

Awesome Stay

Really enjoyed the stay, friendly helpful staff, comfy as beds, big bathroom plenty space, So clean and tidy the room Handy to work Restaurant downstairs

Tired old hotel in a central location

Good location near centre of town.

No off-street parking. Noisy - can hear other guests in the hallway. Two of the three power sockets in the room were not working.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff were so lovely and friendly. I appreciated the safety that was provided. And having access entry after hours.

Probably not having a air con but I actually didn't need it 😊. Everything I needed was provided.

The main light didn't work ,the shower only worked extra hot I added a little cold and the whole thing went cold shower burnt us could not control, had to move bed to get closer to the power point for the electric blanket to have power ,room felt damp ,, not a good experience ,,paint peeling around the windows curtains need replacing , but the sheets were clean as were the towels ,,, would I go back NO SORRY

It is our favorite place to stay in Whangarei and close to everything. If it is full we find it difficult to find anywhere else that we enjoy.

Comfortable easy-going country pub style accommodation

Handy location close to cbd. We often stay here. Generally get a good sleep

Old Hotel but clean, tidy, very handy

Loved the balcony room, outdoor tables etc

Need more milk. Only enough for 1 coffee but there were 2 of us. Centre light bulb gone so hard to read.

Good room Had a fan Small bathroom buy updated Didn't here ant karokie but was in an end room so far from the bar

No parking Rooms were very muggy No anti slip mat in shower so fell over

To be able to get my meal downstairs was nice.

You get what you pay for

Great location, cheap stay

No allocated parking, the glasses in the room had not been cleaned (lipstick and fingerprints), mini fridge wasn’t working, bathroom had unpleasant odour.
