About this cabin rental

Follow Chestnut Lane's winding dirt road to the second to last cabin on the left. Here you'll find the Dragonflies Den, haven of solitude nestled on the quiet shores of Quimby Pond. You can choose to park at the upper overflow lot, or down on the gravel driveway next to the rough sawn lumber shed and garage. You'll find a boat rack well stocked with canoes, kayaks, life jackets, swim floats and such. Open the front door to the cabin and you're greeted with a well-appointed kitchen. To your right is the laundry room. You can hang your outdoor gear in one of the two coat closets just inside the door. Down the hallway to your right are the four bedrooms, consisting of two queen bedrooms, one bedroom with two twin beds, and one bedroom with a twin bunk bed. Amongst these is the first full bath. Back down the hall and across from the kitchen you'll find the dining room, with a rustic picnic table next to a beautiful stone fireplace, both with a palatial view out a large window of placid Quimby Pond. Enjoy your meals as you watch ducks doing the same off the front lawn, while the loons glide across the surface of the water in the background. Through a small door you find the last of our rooms, the spacious Gathering Room. Here we have a couch, loveseat and oversized armchair, all power recline with a 50-inch TV, DVD player, and collection of DVDs. Prefer something a little more low-key? There's also a varied selection of books, board games, or just warm your feet by the wood stove, enjoying the views out of the numerous windows. But what else is there to do? Spring brings legendary fly fishing just out your front door. Summer fishing continues with the addition of swimming, hiking, biking, wildlife watching and motor sports. The town comes to life as well with a wide variety of delicious restaurants, theater, beaches and recreational activities. Autumn approaching? Here the leaf peeping can’t be beat, and wildlife abounds as deer, bear, birds and such ready themselves for winter. As we move into the last season Rangely turns into a haven for snowmobilers. With original taxidermy and rustic art throughout this camp, along with the rare privacy of this property you’re assured a vacation you won’t soon forget.

We would like to say a few things that were somewhat negative, we are very sorry to say what we want the hostess and others to know about about our stay. After the first night we realized that we had SEVERAL MICE running around. We must have seen over 13 as we were watching a video. Yes we went and bought mice traps and caught many of them. Also when we were grilling outdoors the second night the propane tank ran out of gas on us. Having the canoes and kayaks was wonderful. The stove was amazing and the dishwasher the very best. All in all it was a delightful vacation, mostly in the RAIN, but that sure is not anyones fault!! Thank you hostess.

The property is well equipped for a fun family stay. Plenty of bedrooms. A very comfortable living room that is well stocked with books, even for kids, and a good video library. The canoes and kayaks were great to explore the pond. It was fun finding the ducks, frogs and dragonfly's while paddling around the pond. The kitchen was well equipped, and the commercial grade stove made preparing food easy. I would definitely return again. Thanks to the host Melanie for helping make great family memories.

This house was perfect for my relaxing family vacation, we went kayaking, and relaxed outside for most of the day in the warm sun and at night had a camp fire with smores. The inside of the house was spacious and fit all 6 comfortably.

I really enjoyed staying here. The house was very clean and the kitchen in particular was really wonderful. Cooking at the stove with a view of the water was amazing! The water isn’t super great for swimming and because it is so shallow we saw a couple leeches but one of my friends did go swimming though and enjoyed it! Several of us kayaked and it was really great for kayaking. There were 7 of us total and it fit us all very comfortably. There’s also excellent opportunity for seeing a lot of wildlife. We saw a bald eagle swim in the water and catch a fish which was so cool! The property is secluded and very private, but not far from town. It’s also pretty close to Rangeley Lake State Park and we spent an afternoon there - it is stunning there and the water is perfect. I definitely recommend staying here.

A very quiet and pleasant location. Very comfortable camp, nice beds, well stocked kitchen, nice new appliances. It is right on the water which we loved. We also loved that the pond is motor boat free so all we heard were the loons. Great camp and will definitely be going back again.

The camp is spacious with an exceptional floor plan. The kitchen and dining area is awesome with a well designed and applianced kitchen and a beautiful view of the pond. The bedrooms were ample with modern beds and very good lighting. Two full baths were updated, clean and enjoyable. A separate spacious area for relaxing had abundant and comfortable seating along with a well equiped and porportioned entertainment center making this camp quite unique. Overall, we really liked what this camp had to offer.
