Overall served its purpose, when we arrived the towels were wet, trash under the beds, and mold on the shower liner. There was a few bottle caps on the deck as well. Looks like the house had or has water damage. Looks to be in the middle of a repair. Driveway was very steep and from other reviews people said the same. No way you can turn around at the top. Probably would not stay here again.

This is a great house, located very close to the resort. Beautiful views and many amenities made this a wonderful home away from home.

Property was great - only complaints I have are:
1.TV was outdated and had to download ROKU app to work the smart TV downstairs - upstairs TV not a smart TV.
2. Driveway was extremely steep but that was explained on property listing.
3. No Air Fryer - I had brought my own just in case.
4. One of the Doors didn't open, door handle/lock was jammed.
5. Need new Ice Trays - ones provided were cracked and broke but still worked.
Suggestion: HOT TUB would have been great - plenty of room in the House.
Overall: Great Stay and would highly recommend this house.

Lovely house but the driveway is horrible I know the house is built into a mountain I wouldn’t be surprised if my transmission start to give me problems because of the driveway I wouldn’t stay at that location again because of the driveway

The driveway was as steep as warned, but not unmanagable. The deck and outside furniture were in need of a good cleaning. When I entered the home, the floor was a bit dirty, but after a good sweeping, it was fine. The toaster oven and coffee maker needed cleaning as well. Everything else was great, and the home provided us with a great place to sleep, eat and hang out during our son's JMU graduation weekend. I would definitely stay again, but a good cleaning would have made it a perfect place.

Great location. Host was accomodating and made checkin process easy. Reasonably clean. Driveway could use more stone to allow easier turnaround

We loved the view out the main windows and the deck! Nice open layout with the kitchen, dining, and living space. The location was great for accessing the Shenandoah National Park as well as the many activities there in the Massanutten resort area.

This was a nice property in the Massanutten resort area. Property was up high providing a great view. Enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning enjoying the sunshine. Saw a fox on the deck one morning and deer in the woods around the house. Plenty of space in the house.

Lovely light-filled mountain house
Lovely light-filled house with huge wrap around porch and giant windows/cathedral ceiling. For evenings, I would suggest adding a few more lamps to the great room because I don't love overhead lighting. There is a closet full of puzzles and games, and even a few stocked toyboxes for the littles. Very nice, stocked kitchen. Lots of extra comforters/blankets in closets (in case someone needs to sleep on couch). Love the balcony off the upstairs primary suite The host, Lori, was very responsive to messages. Guests be advised the driveway is quite steep and a little tricky. One suggestion might be to provide larger bath towels, but we would happily use this lovely home again.
P.s. we enjoyed the nearby mini golf course!

Great fall weekend getaway
The house is in a great location and it is nice and clean with a well-equipped kitchen. Lori the owner/property manager was very responsive to my request for additional towels. The driveway is very steep and took some getting used to. And one of the kitchen drawers broke while there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable in Gobblers Roost!

What a Wonderful Vacation Home!
Our family was thrilled to stay in such a warm and perfectly-outfitted home! Lori was amazingly accommodating and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed! Everything about the home is comfy and cozy. The recliner was my favorite spot, and all of the beds have super soft comforters. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation at Massanutten!

Lovely Mountain Home
We really enjoyed our stay! It was a cozy home away from home. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, glasses, dishes, etc. There were plenty of games to play as well as toys for little ones. The beds were comfortable, and our kids loved the bunkbeds. The keyless entry was so convenient. The owner provided very clear and thorough directions and information for the home. We had a couple questions, and the owner was quick to respond within 10-15 min. The home also had a nice view of the slopes! Our boys were excited about the gaming system, but we were not able to get it to show on the screen, could have been user error. We were a little disappointed there were not many cable channels to choose from, but they did have a DVD player so you could bring movies to watch when you have down time. Overall, it was a wonderful mountain getaway, and we would definitely recommend it!

Great for family mountain getaway
Our family (parents and 3 young kids) stayed at this property for 5 nights just before the thanksgiving holiday. The property was very clean, check in was a breeze, and the house worked great for our family. The owner responded very quickly to a few questions I sent before our visit, and fortunately our stay had no issues that required contacting again. The house is really well located within the Massanutten resort area. Even though we were there in sort of the off-season between summer and winter, there were still plenty of fun things to do with the kids. It would be a great family property during ski season, and we’d love to return again for that.

Pleasant Mountain Getaway
We enjoyed our weekend at this house. The views are great, deck is lovely, and it was easy to get to trails in Massanutten and SNP. House and features were exactly as advertised. Driveway is super steep but we managed it and could turn around, as promised!

Great mountain retreat
We had a great stay here. The house was clean and had everything we would need. The owner was great at responding to questions quickly. The location in massanutten was convenient to hiking nearby at the National park and had some nice amenities as well. Beautiful views from inside and on the huge deck. Overall a great trip!

Gorgeous View
We love that the property was elevated sort of on a mountain range so we can see the nice view ahead. The only drawback with this property was that, it was not cleaned well. The deck was full of leaves when we arrived. We had to clean the deck ourselves because we hate to see the site of scattered leaves on the deck. The property was not dusted very well cause we see them on the blinds and even on the decors in the bathroom. There are no instructions in the house binder on how to operate the TV and their game console. Nevertheless, we were vacationing to unplug so that is not important for us. The house was spacious though and kitchen is well stocked with the culinary supplies that a chef may need in a "home away from home."

Beautiful location
We were a little worried about the driveway after reading previous reviews but honestly it was more fun than a concern. It was very steep but also short with good traction and plenty of room to park and turn around. The home is large and comfortable with a big kitchen and open floor plan. The wrap around deck was fantastic and provides a gorgeous view and a great deal of outdoor space. The Swift Run Gap entrance to Shenandoah National Park is about a 20 minute drive, there is a grocery store quite close, and the surrounding resort & golf course could provide plenty of entertainment! We spent our days hiking through SNP, our afternoons relaxing on the deck and the evenings cooking in the lovely kitchen. The area was difficult to leave and we definitely plan to return. The home itself could use some TLC but it provided plenty of room in a desirable location.

The cottage was better than the picrures- very nice. Could have used directions to operate the stove. We would not come here again beause of the awkward turn arround.

Driveway
Driveway was too steep. Possibly try to make it not as steep or more room on top to turn cars/trucks around.

Great location and even better views!
7 of us stayed here for a weekend ski trip at Massanutten and there was more than enough room. The location is perfect as its right down the road from the resort! From the balcony you can see the slopes lit up at night and great views of all the surrounding nature. The cabin had everything we needed and was a perfect place to come back to after a day in the snow.
Lori was very accommodating, responsive, and a pleasure to do business with. 10/10 highly recommended!

Stay at Log Cabin in Massanutten Resort
Our stay here was very nice! The property owner and manager were responsive to the questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wish we lived closer to come back! The driveway, as others mentioned, is steep, but after one up and down it was fine. We have a larger car (Traverse) and had plenty of room at the top to turn around and then head down driving straight vs. backing down. The only comment we will leave is maybe to have a flashlight available...the power went out one night for several hours (no biggie, it happens where we live too!), but with cell phones at the end of the day with little to no charge, we had little to no light! Made the best of it and actually, was kind of fun...but if we had had to head to bed in the dark, just would have been nice to have a flashlight! Overall, highly recommend this property. Thank you to Lori and Lee for their help!
Here is a list of some places we went and approx driving distances:
* Skyline Drive / Shenandoah Mts - less than 1/2 hr
* Harper's Ferry - 1 3/4 hrs one way - lots to see and do (tubing, river rafting, hiking, biking, historical site)
* Luray Caverns - 35 min one way
* Of course, the resort! Went Horseback Riding, go carting, swimming - wish we would have zip lined...looked fun!
* Blue Ridge Trail (picks up at the southern most point of Skyline Drive) - about a half hour one way
* Mt. Vernon - Around 2 hours one way - phenomenal....missed it on a trip to DC with our kids, great place and doable in a day if you leave early enough!

Nearly perfect housing
The stay was fantastic and I can see with the materials you provided such as games that you have the people's interests at heart. A couple of problems were there were ants but we managed to get rid of then quickly and that we were a little worried to use the dish washer because it seemed like there was a little leakage. Other than those things we would be glad to come back. Thank you

Great place. The kids loved it.
We had a great time.

Great ski house!
My family of five loved our stay at this ski house. The main sitting area gets lots of natural light. The bedrooms were comfortable. The only negative is the steep driveway. We parked on the side of the road one night and ended up with a ticket because we didn't pull off to the side enough. Other than that, we had a lovely stay in this house.

Wonderful views, very much like home for us, spacious and cozy. Well stocked.
Well, the driveway was so steep we parked on the road after the first time. We took care of the house as though it was our own and enjoyed being close to the ski resort but not too close. Massanutten has a lot to offer! Thank you

Beutifull resort and lovely cabin
This winter didn’t snow but we were able to enjoy the skii slopes and ice skate in the resort. The cabin was warm and cozy.

Great stay, cozy home perfect for enjoying Massanutten.
My family of 4 really enjoyed our time at Gobbler’s Roost! The wraparound deck and large windows were perfect for enjoying views of the mountains. Very close to family adventure park (tubing, etc.) and Indoor water park. Would definitely stay again!

Great stay, family loved it
Home was great plenty to do in the erea

We were a group of 6 adults and the house offered anything we needed. Whatever you need is nearby, grocery stores and national parks for example. It´s also a sanctuary if you want to escape the big Cities and enjoy nature. At least the driveway in front of the house is a little bit challenging but with the right car it will be no problem. Communication with the owner was perfect and they cleand the whole house just before our arrival.

Great Views
This house has really great views of the mountains and we had lots of deer come right up to the house. The driveway is steep but once you get the hang of it it's not really a problem. Just as a heads up the washer and dryer are in the unfinished basement as stated in the write-up but there is insulation dust over everything so if you drop your clean clothes on the floor you'll need to rewash them. The main reason we didn't give our stay a higher rating was because on our last day there as we were packing up we discovered mouse dropping all over the counter in the kitchen (the counter is dark so it blended in). As we started looking we found it along the baseboards in the house as well as the drawer under the stove. It was disturbing knowing we'd had food on the countertops and cooked with baking sheets under the stove and and my kids had been playing and laying on the floors. We notified the owner and she was going to have it taken care of, so it shouldn't be a problem for future guests. The owner was great to deal with and very responsive. Again, would have provided a higher rating had we not run into this issue.

Lovely spacious well-equipped cabin
This cabin has everything you need, and is really comfortable. It is situated in the Massanutten resort, and there is access to a pool nearby (though we didn't use this). The drive is VERY steep so we ended parking at the bottom so as not to damage our hire car, but that was the only downside. Great for accessing the Shenandoah National Park. Had great stay here an recommend this cabin.

Beautiful view!
The house was perfect for our stay with our daughter and her family. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. We loved grilling out on the big wrap around deck! We even got to see a bear not too far into the mountains on our first night there. The view was amazing!! We loved every minute of our stay.

Perfect Mountain Retreat!
Second time staying at this cabin and just as pleased. Yes there is a steep driveway but it is a mountain home and there is a back up area so you can drive out ,you do NOT need to back out all the way, which makes it very manageable. All conveniences one needs, kitchen is very nicely equipped for cooking including a functioning outdoor gas grill which is always ready to grill! Close to swimming, miniature golf, go carts, beach volleyball, outdoor basketball court, just lots to do but, nice enough to just hang out on the deck and enjoy the views.with a coffee or glass of wine! Oh and storage, there is a ton of that to tuck away suitcases, coolers etc. If you must there are even TV's and wifi! We will be back, LOVED IT!
