The Quetil Trail Guesthouse is located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, walking distance to Hedman Vineyards (0.5 mi) and Alto Vineyards (0.7 mi), and only 15 minutes from Giant City State Park. Two Bedrooms (Queen beds in each) and a fold out queen couch in the living room to sleep 6.
Sit on the patio and enjoy the afternoon sun, or watch the River to River hikers walk by. Walk to Grammer's market for basic grocery supplies or stroll over to the Rootbeer Saloon for a cool afternoon treat.
The property is conveniently located close to area wineries, Giant City State Park, and other attractions and beauty unique to Southern Illinois. Nearby towns include Cobden, Goreville, Anna, Jonesboro, Alto Pass, Makanda, Dongola, Carbondale, Marion, Vienna, Carterville, Herrin, and Murphysboro.

Nice place, easy check in and good communication. Could use a new sofa. The outdoor area needs landscaping, privacy, and new chair cushions. A bit pricey.

Comfortable beds.
Snacks and coffee provided for those late nights and early mornings in case you didn’t bring your own to start.
Very sufficient for a great place to sleep and start again the next day for hiking and exploring the area.

This was exactly what we needed for our trip!! My partner and I are rock climbers, we visit this area often to climb at the Holy Boulders in Pomona, and we came up at this time to see the eclipse. Usually we camp or stay up in Carbondale, but we are already looking at coming back here for our next trip! Alto Pass is so cute and cozy, and it was so nice to come back here and recharge after long days of climbing and hiking in the woods. Steve is an awesome host, and his spot is fully equipped with supplies. The kitchen is fantastic!! Loved the porch right outside to enjoy the nice spring weather. We’ve already told many of our friends about this place and raved about how great it is. We didn’t check out any of the wineries, but everything is in such close proximity and looks so great that I can see why people visit for that. HIGHLY recommend staying here!!!!

My husband and I, along with his sister and brother in law. We had a great time. The house was slightly smaller than I envisioned, but still perfect for our weekend away. The town was peaceful and pretty. Very near some really nice overlook scenery. The Havisham Burbon Bar was literally across the street and down block. Don't miss this place, even if you don't think you like burbon. The best feature of the house is for sure the shower. Huge, walk in shower with a rain shower head and second detachable shower head as well. And...and...HOT WATER. As a parent of many children I NEVER get any hot showers. This was bliss. Would absolutely stay here again.

Loved the coziness and comfort. A few minutes walk to a nice trail and in the center of a quiet and quaint small town. Mr. Young is one of the best hosts that I have had the pleasure of working with and we are repeat customers. Would definitely stay again.

This property was a great find. My husband and I were traveling to visit relatives and needed a place to stay near Anna, IL. This house is very clean and the beds provided a restful night’s sleep. We had read other reviews which commented on the shower and they were right. The shower is great! Also, we were so happy to have a washer and dryer at the house. Steve made communication easy and provided all the little things that made the stay comfortable. There are so many things to do in the area, and we look forward to a return trip and stay at this property.

This was an absolutely awesome stay. The house was clean and in great condition. I could go on for hours on the shower. It’s an amazing shower. Everything about our stay in this house was incredible and very easy to reserve and check in to.

I enjoyed my stay at the Alto Pass property. The house was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for visiting my family in Anna and Cobden and also a great spot for doing the winery tours. The owner was very easy to work with and contact.

This place was so clean! Little touches such as the snacks, coffee, soap basket, soft towels and comfy bedding were very much appreciated! The locating is great too. It’s close to several wineries and attractions such as Bald Knob cross and Pamona Natural Bridge. Communication with the owner was great too! We would definitely love to stay here again! Highly recommend!!!!

I almost hate to admit how much we enjoyed our stay. Everything was as described or even better. Mattresses were wonderful. Towels were plush. Seems minor, but the pictures on the walls were coordinated in each room, all rooms were tasteful decorated. Indicated to me our host cared about details. silverware was quality, heavy, not cheap stuff that bends. Plenty of dishes, coffee cups and, of course, wine glasses. Nice patio and decent furniture on it.
We'll definitely look for this place when we go back to Alto Pass.

Booked this as a last minute Labor Day vacation. The rental was top notch. Very welcoming, updated & clean with a nice patio. Located right in Alto Pass but it was extremely quiet & peaceful. We went to Alto Pass & our Hickory Ridge Wineries & Hiked at Giant City State Park while there. We will definitely be back!

Property was amazing. It smelled clean as soon as I walked in. Everything I could have needed was available. The bed was comfy and the bedding smelled great too! Definitely worth the stay if you are doing some wine trailing.

Great location for hiking and vineyards
The place was just as described and very clean. We were close to the hiking (Giant City, Little Grand Canyon) and wineries (Alto, Blue Sky) that we wanted to visit, which made the trip all the better. We would definitely come back.
