Overview of The Singleton Beach Community
Although the home designs may be reminiscent of traditional Charlestonian architecture, the Singleton Beach Community is actually one of the youngest seaside communities on Hilton Head Island. Located mid-island between Palmetto Dunes and the Marriott Surfwatch Resort, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. Whether you choose to make the scenic walk to Collier Beach (approximately 700 yards) or take the beach shuttle*, old and young alike are sure to be pleased by our beautiful white sand beaches and relatively small crowds year-round. When it’s time to take a break from the sun, be sure to drop by “Coco's on the Beach” to grab a refreshing frozen drink or a quick bite to eat- all without leaving Collier Beach! Aside from the beach, Chaplin Oceanside Park is located a mere 100 yards away and houses a multitude of tennis courts, basketball courts, bike trails, baseball diamonds, and soccer fields, as well as a playground, dog park, and restrooms. Finally, when the day starts to draw to a close, why not top off the night by enjoying some of the finest waterfront shopping, dining, and entertainment** on the island at Shelter Cove Towne Center, just a short bike ride or drive down the road (1.5 miles)
*There is a complimentary golf cart beach shuttle service exclusive to this community. It runs Memorial Day to Labor Day (Sunday through Friday 9am-5pm, weather permitting). The driver is in the community waiting on your call. He will pick you up at the house and take you back and forth to the beach as often as you like.
**The town hosts a number of events and festivals throughout the year, including a firework display every Tuesday night during the summer that is best viewed from the Shelter Cove Community Park directly behind Shelter Cove Towne Center.

House was beautiful and great fit for my family except 2 things
1. Cleaning still going on at 4:36pm
2. Trash was overflowing smell so bad you couldn’t go in garage and the magnets were everywhere
3. Refrigerator was empty but ice cream spilled in freezer

This a great location that is close to all Hilton Head has to offer. Short walk to the beach. We did use the free shuttle a few times. The house has a great layout for a large group. We had 12 with a mix of children and adults.

Great size and space for our family trip. The property owner/manager was quick to respond and even sent a crew to investigate a toilet issue that we had on the first night. The house had the absolute bare minimum of the necessities (no spices, travel mugs, etc). Also could use more beach chairs, towels, beach toys, games, etc. Compared to other places we’ve stayed at in the past, this one was just missing some of the added touches. The shuttle to the beach was fast and the family who operates it are super friendly.

We had a fantastic time at this property. The property is as described in the listing. The place felt new and remodeled. A/C worked great, smart TVs all around, plenty of room to sit and relax. The beach is a bit of a walk - about 15 minutes each direction, but a shuttle golf cart is offered during the summer. We would absolutely stay again.

We stayed here Sept 19th-Sept 21st 2023. We came into South Carolina to attend our sons graduation from Parris Island as a Marine. Not knowing the area, these houses came up as only 20 miles or less from Parris Island, but in reality, the DRIVE was almost an hour, which I knew from doing a little research. So that part wasnt a surprise to me. The house was nice and very clean. My favorite part of it was the huge size! Very spacious! But from the pics on. VRBO, the overall home was disappointing. The pool was a bit dirty. Instead of a back yard oasis, it was more of a back yard jungle with patio area and the fence was broken. The front porch light didnt work. And there was some kind of leak from the front porch as well that would pool water on the steps. The master bed was pretty hard, but thats just preference. So if you like a firm bed, this would be good. The thing that I liked least was, from the pictures on VRBO, it looked like the beach was very close and that you would be able to see it from the house, but in reality it was a bit of a walk and all you saw were other houses. Which was fine, just not what I was expecting. I was expecting an actual beach house. So I was disappointed there. All in all, it was clean, spacious with plenty of room. It worked for what we needed it for. But if you book a stay here, just realize its not a true beach house. If I could do it over again, I wouldnt book this house again.

Check in was super easy. Property was stunning and very clean as pictured. We were able to reach the Host by phone very easily when we had questions and he was very pleasant. The only real complaint is the size of the pool is very small. There were 8 of us and it just wasn't feasible for us to use it together. You can't swim in it in all honesty even with one person. That was super disappointing. Minus that, we were pleased. It was very close to the beach, within walking distance of Burkes Beach which has the handicap accessible mat walkways. If a pool isn't an absolute necessity for you then I'd definitely recommend.

Property listed as a 5 bedroom which is not the case! It’s a 4 bedroom with a den with a sleeper sofa and a curtain you pull for privacy!

The property was terrific. Everything that we needed was in the cabinets. It’s was beautiful, peaceful, and my family enjoyed the space. The private beach was a plus.

Positives:
-10 minute walk to the beach
-Clean and spacious accommodations, particularly the family / living room
-Nice reference board of expectations, nearby bike rental shops (with drop-off service)
-The neighborhood is quiet and safe
-Communication / responses with the property manager were prompt
Negatives:
-Absence of some of the 'small things' like hand soap in the kitchen, dishwashing soap, detergent for the laundry, salt and pepper shakers. We purchased all the above for our stay and donated them to the property. It would have been nice to have these small items available at the outset
-More kitchen / recycle trash bags
-The kitchen is functional, but is on the cramped side
-The pool is too small to be a valuable add, particularly with the beach so close by
-A suggestion: availability of bikes / beach gear with the rental. We donated boogie boards to the property (x4) - hopefully future renters will benefit
Overall this was a great property that met the needs of our family, but for the price, it would have been nice to have some of the small things as a part of the package

Very nice house, nice bathroom in each room, pool is smaller than it looks on the photos, beach access is not convenient

8 Henry Lane was the perfect home for our group of tennis ladies. It was worth the money! Bathrooms and bedrooms were very spacious. It was a wonderful surprise to find the memory foam mattresses on the beds! I highly recommend!

My sisters, brother and I had a wonderful time in Hilton Head. We were visiting our aunts, uncles and cousins. We loved our VRBO! Very spacious, bright and clean. Loved that it was close to the beach and convenient to everything. I highly recommend 8 Henry Ln. 👍🏼

We were very impressed with the size of the property, recent renovations and since there were 5 women in our group....LOVED the 4.5 baths!!! The location was also great. Very easy to get to nearby restaurants and golf courses. One friend did use the pool. Communication with the owner was very easy. We reached out to him a couple of times and messages were responded to almost immediately.
We would definitely stay in the home again.

The location and room configuration was perfect for 8 ladies. The living area is spacious with ample comfortable seating. Large dining table is a plus. Nice outdoor seating. Plenty of bathrooms. Kitchen lacking a few key items -- no wine glasses, limited serving trays, bowls for hors d'oeuvres. A couple of the mattresses need replacing. Two bathrooms had hair dryers and two did not. No instructions were given as to clean-up expectations, garbage pickup -- just departure time.
Overall, a great house for our group!

wonderful beach week
We couldn't be happier with our accommodations. The house was very clean and has a great layout for my family to both have time together and apart. We especially appreciated the shuttle to the beach. Because of the shuttle, we basically were closer to the beach than if we had stayed on the beach.
We definitely would return to this property.

Wonderful place to experience Hilton Head Island. Short commute to shopping and restaurants. Easy access to bike trails. The nearby park is great for kids and about a half mile from the ocean

Good location / Needs Improvement/ a lot skin bites from beds
Some parts of the house needs improvement and better cleaning, special the bathrooms- something started bites us and we developed skin rash. Exterminator came on Friday without notice.

Good Trip
This property was great for a large family. However, be aware that the size of the backyard and the pool are deceptively large in the photos. Both are very small. Also the nice beach board walk that is depicted is not near the property. The back of the property faces a highway and a dinner. You must take a golf cart to get to the beach or be in for a long walk.
There is plenty of room and lots of beds. We had a large family and enjoyed our time together.

A large and lovely house with a tiny pool
My wife and I and our 4 grandchildren (age 12 - 17) enjoyed the stay very much. The property is very clean and is as described by the owner. It is about 3/4 mile from Collier Beach. I dropped off the family at the beach access and drove back to park the car at the vacation home and then walked back by myself to the beach. The beach was very nice and quiet when we were there during 2 weekdays before the Memorial Day weekend. It would have been nice if there was a bicycle available so I didn't have to walk. There is bike parking at the beach access. The only disappointment we have is that the pool is very small, about 6 ft x 15 ft.

Peaceful and Relaxing
My mom and I stayed at this property Mother's Day weekend and loved everything about it. We were able to walk to the beach. We were close to so many places to shop and eat. It was really central to everything. The neighborhood was also well maintained and quiet. We had a question about something after hours and got an answer from the property manager in less than 5 minutes. We're in the process of planning when we can come back and bring a few friends!

Great spot not far from the beach!
The property was very clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet and nice. The beach was nice and private. I wasn't that crazy about the pool. We didn't use it.

Hilton Head getaway!
My friends and I went to Hilton Head for a weekend getaway. The house was as described and suited our needs perfectly. Everything was clean. We had plenty of towels and bed linens/pillows. My only callout is that I had read a review that said there was no longer a king-sized bed in Master bedroom, which management company had confirmed it was now 2 queens, but when got there the king-sized bed is still in room.

Great location. Not what I expected
We very much enjoyed our time in Hilton head and the location was great! The house definitely needs to be updated- new carpet, paint, beds... and they offer very little kitchen supplies. We also left a blanket that was never returned and mysteriously disappeared and never recovered even though we contacted them within hrs of departure.

This was my first house rental and was not familiar with the process. I did arrived after 4 pm time as stated, but did not have the code to enter the property. I was not able to reach the owner and had to send a help request to VRBO. After getting into the property about an hour later, I found that the house was not checked prior to our arrival (again as stated). I smelled as if it have been closed for a couple of weeks, there was a dead roach in hallway of one of the bathrooms, the pool water looked discolored, and the garage basement was dingy with a stale odor. I'm not sure how, but a neighbor came to the door and said that they could hear the kids in the basement (we could not hear them upstairs) and there was a noise orderdance at that time. Other than all of the that, the size and layout of the house was perfect for our family.

Somethig for everyone
Property was very nice with quiet surroundings and very close to ocean/beach. Great accommodations and excellent location with food shopping and golf all within a few minutes reach. Very spacious & having bedrooms with their own bathroom was well received. Everyone was very happy with this choice including grand kids who enjoyed the enclosed pool. The property manager Tony was a God-send who responded very quickly to all inquiries (tanks Tony). I would definitely rent again.

Great home close to beach!
We had a great time. We had four kiddos, my parents and my sister and her husband. The house was great! Great big rooms and huge downstairs to hangout! The private pool was nice but really cold at the time we went. The distance to the beach was a little farther than we thought. We were able to drive across the street to the park and park closer to the beach and get there that way. We would definitely rent this home again. Very close to grocery store, restaurants and shopping!

Property not what is seen on pics
The basement was dingy, moldy and "pool" slightly bigger than a tub. Walls dirty, pillows on the chairs in dining room area dirty as well. I ended up leaving, covid-19 is serious

Operability/Appearance
Everything was clean and looked good in apperance. We did witnessed some problems with the TV's. The manager came and fixed all problems except the TV in Kitchen area. In addition, there are a few lamps out in some of the rooms. Otherwise, Great stay. Jim Hayes

Mostly Great!
Fine except the pool was unusable and had worms in it. The property manager made up for the pool problem by giving us permission to use the pool at a nearby resort. S King bed had been replaced by two queens. The location is perfect! Our grands enjoyed playing ping pong and walking to the beach and park.
It would be helpful for future guests if there were instructions re the TV. All in all we had a great time and couldn’t have asked for a better location!
