You will fall in love with 'Shared Dreams', a stunning standalone beach house just 2 homes off the sand, ocean, and energetic boardwalk of prime Mission Beach. This is ideal as you escape the hectic boardwalk, but yet close enough where you can observe the beachside happenings in a tranquil setting, or jump in on the action yourself if desired. You are literally 30 steps from the oceanfront and a 3 minute walk to the bay front.
This is the perfect home for a group of 8 people (5 adults max). These numbers include any potential day visitors. We do not differentiate between overnight guests and visitors.
HOUSE DETAILS
Fantastic partial ocean views from the patio and balconies, as well as from the master bedroom where you can take in ocean views and the surf action while enjoying a soak in the lovely two person Jacuzzi tub.
This house has been completely designer decorated, repainted, and furnished with shabby chic beach furniture. Coastal charm permeates from every room. This is not your typical vacation rental - it's the result of the owners fulfilling a lifelong dream to own a darling beach house, so every room and corner is decorated with love and care. The results are truly stunning. Be one of the lucky people to enjoy this beautiful, sophisticated home.
3 levels with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. There is a bedroom and bath on every floor, making it very convenient for three couples, a small group of mature friends or families to share the house.
1st LEVEL
You will open a little gate and walk into a beautiful patio with built-in BBQ and furnished with a patio set that seats 6. Grill some seafood, pour some wine, and enjoy the ocean views and salty air over dinner.
This floor leads you to the main entrance of the house which opens to a foyer with direct access to the 2 car garage. It also leads you to a fantastic en-suite bedroom with a queen bed, and functions as a separate studio unit as it comes with its own little bar/kitchenette with a beverage fridge. Sliding doors lead directly to the patio. This room's setup is perfect for a couple wanting some space for themselves when traveling with a larger group. This little bedroom retreat oozes coastal charm.
2nd LEVEL
The main living space is on the second floor. You will be enchanted with the warmth and coastal feel of this floor which houses the living room, kitchen (no ice maker) and dining area. This floor also has a balcony, where you can hang out with a good book or share some cocktails. It's what we call coastal whimsy.
The 2nd bedroom is on this floor. It has its own bathroom (charming and nautical themed as well) and features a double bunk bed with a pull out single trundle bed.
3rd LEVEL
The top floor houses the fabulous and spacious master bedroom. You need to see it to believe it. It's dreamy, it's romantic, it's everything you wish for to fulfill those romantic beach fantasies. Enjoy ocean views from the bathroom (and even from the shower) and also from the dreamy king canopy bed with lovely white drapes. Multiple large view windows connect very well to the outdoors.
The top floor deck with its own entrance (easy for everyone in your party to access) is also on this floor. Spectacular ocean and boardwalk views. Fully furnished with bar stools facing the ocean as well as an outdoor dining set and umbrella. It's the perfect spot to wind down after a day at the beach or bay. Enjoy the most amazing sunsets everyday while you're here. Watch the fireworks from SeaWorld during the summer. During your stay, you'll also likely see dolphins while enjoying a glass of wine on this amazing outdoor deck.

Great location right by the beach and a wonderful view of the ocean from the top deck

Our stay at this property was wonderful. We spent 10 days in San Diego and were in town for a wedding and leisure. The property comfortably fit my husband and I, our two kids, and my parents. We loved the proximity to the beach and how close we were to so many restaurants and things to do.
The beds were comfortable. The space was clean and I liked that all the bedrooms were on speedster floors so we could all have our privacy.
Thank you for a great stay!

We were in San Diego for a graduation for me and my friend. We brought our 2 families and had the best time. It’s very close to the beach and walking distance to a small market and lots of dining. We had a great time and it was a great location!

the house was very quaint. Perfect location and had everything that we needed.
Thank you

This home was better than expected! I knew the location according to googlemaps, but wow, 1 block from the beach!!! I loved everything in the house (except the stairs that are odd), and appreciated a larger garage to swing the car around, and not have to do a 25 point turn. We also took advantage of the beach chairs to watch the sunrise and sunsets. The house was perfect for our needs. I just wish we had more time there.

Will definitely stay here again.

The location is absolutely fantastic - 2 houses from the beach, and super close to restaurants and coffee/cafes. We had 2 young kids and it was super easy to walk to and from the beach multiple times a day. We brought our nanny and the bottom floor bedroom was perfect for her. The property manager was easy to work with, they told us they had scheduled garage door maintenance during our visit that required us to park our car on the street for several hours, we said that didn’t work for us (the garage door was functional so it wasn’t urgent) and they rescheduled the maintenance at our request. We had 3 adults and 2 young kids (ages 5 and an infant) and the main floor had enough space for us.

Great Stay. Very clean and close to the beach!

Our stay at Shared Dreams was great overall. The house was accurately listed, steps to the beach, stocked well, clean and well furnished. There are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We were never more than a 15 min drive to anywhere we wanted to go for the day. It was plenty of space for our multi generational vacation ages ranging from 4 - 67. There were a few maintenance issues but the property manager was incredibly fast to address the issues. Carpet needs replaced in bedrooms but that is a very minor. Linens and beds were very comfortable! Friday and Saturday nights we were between two very loud party houses. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

I came with my son and college friend and here three kids for a week around Spring Break (kids ages 10-16). Beach access was perfect, including a warm outdoor shower and hose for getting the sand off. We enjoyed Belmont Park and many walkable attractions and restaurants. Loved the trivia night at Guava Beach Bar just around the corner and a fancy night out for the moms at JRDN restaurant (try the lobster roll!). And pasta and Pizza at Luigi's down by Belmont Park was GREAT - get the in house made Portuguese sausage pasta dish! Of course we went to Legoland, San Diego Zoo, the Safari Park (book an extra safari adventure ahead of time, worth it), Old Town, and used both cars and public transportation easily. There's no need for a car to enjoy the neighborhood or to get downtown, but it was a easy drive with little traffic to get most places. The Go City pass was a great investment too.
House itself was as pictured - comfortable, great separation of space, nice balconies and outdoor space, three bathrooms and room to sleep 7-8 comfortably. TVs in every room and a gas fireplace. Lots of room for everyone. Stairs are steep but we had no problems with anything in the house - well cared for vacation home with lots of beach equipment in the garage including 4 boogie boards!
Only complaint was loud weekend neighbors (in violation of noise ordinance) but the rental agency was very responsive and can't be responsible for spring break antics - just bring your earplugs if it's a big party weekend! And every other night was quiet and the boardwalk was fun and felt safe.

The checkin was very easy with a door code prior to the stay. The house was perfect! We had two families with 3 small children. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. They gave you plenty of paper products/soaps. I have stayed at numerous VRBO and often they give you toilet paper/paper towels/dish tabs for 1-2 days and you have to buy more while staying at the house not here! It was very well stocked with everything you would need!
There was plenty of beach items for the kids. The hot water outside before going in was great for the small kids on cooler spring days.
We had a flight cancellation and requested to stay an additional night. I had sent a message extremely early as we were trying to figure out our plans and the management stay got back to us very quickly and were able to allow us to stay an additional night!
There was a rowdy group of college kids that came to stay a few nights but that was the only negative I can think of but obviously an unavoidable issue for the area.
The location can not be beat! I have stayed at numerous places in Fl/Al in condos and it was much faster to run back to the house here to grab forgotten items than any place I had stayed! There were so many restaurants, coffee shops, etc close by! We had such an enjoyable trip and hope once our kids get slightly older (it was a fairly long flight from Iowa and the time change was a bit tough in the kids) we will come back here again and again!
Cant say enough about the house and management!

Let me start with the good parts. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and new appliances. The beds were very comfortable. It was great having air conditioning, which isn’t always available in the area. I had only one question about the air conditioner and I got an immediate call after I texted. It was great to not have to go buy paper products and soaps. The living room furniture is nice too and clean with a nice tv. The beach is very nice and super easy to get to. Since it is winter, not as many people on the beach itself. The boardwalk is the busy spot with lots of runners, biker, skaters, etc. It felt very safe though, in the daytime. We didn’t go at night.
I have to say, the photos look a lot different than the actual rooms in the house, but the rooms aren’t bad, just a bit older looking in person.
I live in a 3 story house, but the stairs in this rental are very narrow. Coming down the stairs, with my size 8 foot, I had to turn my feet sideways. Very steep stairs. Getting luggage up and down to and from the 3rd floor took concentration and strength. Something to think about if you’re older. Finding the house was not easy. There’s no house number on the garage, so we drove around and around trying to locate it. It’s not the owner’s fault, but the view from the balcony is a burned house, a black hole and a group of young guys live directly across and have no window covers and the rental has no window coverings in the living room, so you look at each other across the sidewalk. (We taped a length of paper towel for a cover on the doors). They are young, so of course, they had lots of friends over and the doors open onto their balcony. One thing to consider is that we are older. The negatives I found may not bother others.

This is a fun rental, cute decorations, a bathroom and balcony on every floor. The top floor balcony was amazing for relaxing on and watching the waves (can’t see ocean from other balconies). Very easy walk to the sand, we’d go barefoot. The hose and WARM shower outside were very helpful for getting sand off of little people and toys.
My husband and I stayed there with our 5 kids 12 and under. There were two pack and plays and a high chair. With each bedroom being on a different floor it did make the house feel very separate, which makes little kids feel farther away, but would be nice for privacy if going with other couples. The flooring and stairs are all rock tile and the stairs are very steep, so be prepared for that. We usually eat meals outside but at this rental that was much harder with the kitchen being on the middle floor and the steep stairs to carry food out. The master bedroom was large but had slanted ceilings in places that my 6’1’’ husband hit his head on a few times. The master toilet/shower area is TINY, with a slanted door access. It’s tight to get into like a tiny bathroom stall. If you’re a large person getting between that door and into the shower could prove difficult. Though the showers on the other two floors are open and regular size. Nice to have a two car garage, but it’s still for small vehicles, our SUV didn’t fit. We were able to find parking on the street most nights. There’s not very much comfortable seating in the family room compared to how many beds there are in the house for people. There’s one couch, an arm chair and a wood rocking chair. Would have preferred another arm chair over the hard rocking chair. The AC wasn’t working while we were there, we knew that ahead of time and it turned out ok because the weather was temperate in October and we could open the windows and doors. But it would have been way too hot in the summer. There were lots of bath towels, but could have used more than the two kitchen towels. Overall, it was a comfortable good stay!

Good beach location. Quiet during the week; busy & louder on the weekend - but expected at the beach mid-summer. House is generally well equipped and works well for multiple family and guests. Could stand some updating and better kitchen equipment (e.g., knives that actually cut, a spatula, etc.). AC wasn’t very efficient on the 3rd floor. But, all in, it was mostly as expected and we had a good 2 weeks with family

Overall good. We arrived on a Saturday and no garage door remote. I emailed the company as per instructions (text for emergencies it said). No one ever returned my emails until 2 phone calls later on Monday. Poor communication for sure. Trash in the lower level bedroom was still full from previous tenant. Ceiling fan in Master bedroom broken. Let them know on Saturday and after 2 phone calls on Monday they did offer to send a maintenance person. GREAT LOCATION but be forewarned….steep non-carpeted stairs! Caution should be used with wet feet! Overall a good house. Does need some tweaking to be perfect!!!

Other than the unfortunate luck of having 3 houses around us filled with drunk teenagers, we had fun. Love the upstairs balcony with nice ocean view. Bathroom on each floor was cool. Only one car in garage, but we knew that. Weather was great.

Had a great vacation with family and friends. Housed 8 of us perfectly! The proximity to the beach is wonderful, and great restaurants all around too.

We had an absolute blast at this property. My family, along with my brother's family could not have asked for a better location. Literally steps from the beach made this super conveniinent for the kids and us for that matter. Kids could easily make it back to the house to get snacks, use restroom or whatever without worry. We did have one minor issue with the garage door, through no fault of really anyone, it just seemed to be a normal wear and tear issue. The property managers were very responsive to the issue. House was within walking distance to pretty much anything we needed. We took a walk down to Belmont park for a day of fun with the kids, out to restaurants, coffee shops, you name it. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to other families.
