About this cabin rental
This Log Cabin has spectacular views, and was custom-built in 1994 from 150-year-old hand-notched Cypress logs (it was not made from a kit). It has hand-made cypress cabinetry; and sleeps up to 6. But there is plenty of room: the Log Cabin has three bedrooms (one with a queen, one with twin beds, and a loft with a brass double bed), and there is also a queen sleeper-sofa for your convenience, along with two full bathrooms.
Don't let the country decor or antiques fool you. Every amenity is provided, including free WiFi, DIRECTV STREAM channels/Roku for streaming apps/DVD, linens, dishes, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, washer and dryer, central heat and air and a warm gas-powered fireplace (for both beauty and heat).
Most everyone finds deep serenity on the full-length/screened-in back porch, while sitting in a rocker or swing, and taking in the fantastic view. Deer visit frequently below.
For dining out, there is a plethora of restaurants ranging from fine dining to down-home country cookin'; and there is a distillery downtown, with tours!
Nearby is Vogel State Park, the Appalachian Trail, and countless waterfalls, along with fishing, boating, kayaking, golf — and if you like whitewater, the cabin is almost directly between the Chattooga and Ocoee rivers. Sightseers will love nearby Helen, Georgia or a day trip to Cashiers-Highland, NC. The kids will delight in finding gold or gems in the mines which are a short and scenic drive away.
Although there are many activities nearby, most guests love the peaceful sanctuary that the Log Cabin is, and we very much enjoy welcoming them back time after time. Hopefully you will become one of our regular guests, too!
There is room for 4 cars on the property, but unfortunately motorcycles are prohibited by our homeowners association.
3-Night Minimum during weekends, and 2-Night Minimum on Monday through Thursday nights, excepting holidays and subject to availability. Minimum stay is 4 or 5 nights in late October and early November (peak leaf season). Rental is for the entire home, and includes the first three guests; for each additional guest it is $10 per person, per night. Check-in time is 3:30 p.m. and check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Please adhere to these times strictly, for the comfort and safety of all of our guests.
If you would like to bring one or two quiet, house-trained dogs that weigh less than 50 pounds each, you agree as follows: 1) to notify us of their breed and weight, 2) Dogs are not allowed on any furniture or off-property, 3) that your dogs are leashed and remain on-property at all times; 4) that your dogs are crated or secured on back porch if you are not there, 5) to walk dogs along the woods-edge away from the home to avoid offending anyone, 6) that you will NOT walk dogs along the pavement since it is not our property, and (7) that you are responsible to pay for damage/extra cleaning. Although we love cats, they are NEVER allowed.
We hope you can stay with us!

We booked this property as an unexpected backup plan after Hurricane Debby ruined our beach vacation. Price was great, location was more or less on our way back home, and the cabin was fun. Best feature is the large fully screened-in back porch; we spent most of our time out there. Cookware and silverware were decent; could use a few more bowls of different sizes. Lots of pet supplies (food dishes, cleaning stuff, leashes, etc.) in the closet by the washer/dryer if you need them. Beds were very comfortable. If you're into maximalist deco, you'll love this place; I found it too busy visually, and kept losing track of my stuff because so many flat surfaces are covered with decorations and knickknacks. Saw a few racist statues/dolls that need to go. Air conditioning and plumbing were great; those can be dicey in cabins, so that was nice.

What n enjoyable cabin. My wife and I spent a lot of time on the front porch looking at the mountains as well as time on the screened in back porch. We really enjoyed the decor of the cabin with so many antiques to see. we will definitely come back. Also enjoyed the frequent visits from the deer.

This home was even more than I could have imagined. My husband and I are big time campers/hunters. We love everything to do with living away from it all. We wanted to still feel like we were doing that but a little classier. If you are looking for big showers, hot tubs, candies on your pillow... This is not your stay. Now for us it was 1000% what we were looking for. We had dinner right off the back porch each day... THE PORCH IS AMAZING!!!

Love the back screened in deck. The decor is a bit cluttered. Lost power and the host immediately responded to our inquiry on it. It came on soon enough.

A true log cabin, cozy. View was spectacular and it was so quiet there. Beds were all very comfortable. The only thing we didn’t like was the lighting was very dim. We had a wedding to go to and bathroom lighting was poor to put on makeup. There was no ironing board to press clothes. No storage containers for food, plastic wrap or aluminum foil. There was a lot of stuff everywhere which resulted in no place to put your personal stuff out. Like dresser tops had stuff all over them.

This cabin is located in a great area with town and other amenities in close proximity. Beautiful rustic log cabin with a nice back porch and spacious. Surrounding area has amazing views but getting there involves some steep inclines if you are not used to them.

We simply loved it! Thought it was perfect for what we were looking for. Beautiful views and nature! It is a getaway located close to town!

This log cabin provided the perfect escape for a relaxing and quiet retreat. We were surrounded by nature, with stunning mountain views from the front porch and a tranquil forest just steps away from the back screened porch.
Highlights of our stay:
Unmatched Tranquility: Immerse yourself in the peacefulness of nature. Listen to the wind rustling through the trees, birds singing, and the occasional sounds of deer in the forest.
Stunning Views: Enjoy breathtaking mountain vistas from the comfort of the front porch.
Relaxation on the Back Porch: The screened-in back porch offers a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest while being protected from bugs.
Homey Touches: The cabin's decorations create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Entertainment Options: Stay connected with Wi-Fi, unwind with various TV channels, or enjoy a game night with the provided board games.
We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in a rustic setting.

It’s a gem. The cabin is the epitome of charming and comfortable. Just book it if you’re considering a trip to the north Georgia mountains. Nearby Blairsville is cute and has plenty of dining options. So much to do within 20 min.

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with me and my family , the cabin is very cozy with enough room that you didn’t feel on top of each other. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and to bathe the babies in the sink. The shower is a little small but the water pressure more than made up for that. One morning it rained , and the sound to the rain hitting the tin roof made everybody sleep in .

I almost felt like we were back in the 1800s, but with the necessary modern conveniences. So many interesting and fun eclectic things to admire and in very interesting places. The screened-in back deck is the best seat in the house! The cabin is very clean!!!! I could go on and on about this place, because it's so unique. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

The Koehler's were super accommodating since we had to come in super late. Everything was perfect and ready to go! The communication to make sure we had everything was great & made us feel like they were only a phone call away! We definitely will be booking with them again in the future!!!

We had an amazing time relaxing in your sweet little log cabin. We loved everything, the weather was beautiful, the leaves are just starting to turn colors. I counted 10 deer in the front yard yesterday morning, and luckily no bears. Hope to return soon. Thank you Steve, Debbie and Jamie Burch.

It was very quaint, with an interesting history.

Simply a wonderful stay. The cabin is adorable and a treasure. We were greeted with a full moon and a night sky decorated with a brilliant mosaic of stars. The only problem we had was my wife didn’t want to go home. She said she had found her peace and task me to find her a retirement cabin in the same vein. I especially enjoyed the comfy bed with pillow top. It was a joyful experience. Thank y’all so much!

This is a nice home in a private setting.

Custom cabin on the crest of a mountain with spectacular sunrises and the sound of rustling leaves from the family of deer visiting daily. The serenity was very much welcomed. Lovely hosts. Excellent wi-fi without issue. The Blue Ridge mountains were amazing and would recommend a visit to the cabin on the crest. Thank you!

A beautiful authentic and rustic log cabin on the top of a mountain. Our family with two children really enjoyed it. For children be sure to check out the Dog Wood Creek Farm right down the road. We put up the provided humming bird feeder on the front porch and was entertained by the frequent visits by two hummers. The Koehler cabin is a place for returning.

Had a great time with our Jeep family. The cabin was exactly a pictured. It is very comfortable and cozy. Just wish it had been colder so we could have a fire in the fireplace. The interior decorations are wonderful. Every time I looked around I saw something new. Thanks so much

This home was an adorable log cabin. We stayed for the weekend for my sons wedding. It was very close to the venue and to town. We enjoyed it very much. Had a minor issue (gas grill propane was empty) which the owner went above and beyond to fix the situation. Great stay! Loved it!

fascinating and fun. We had traveled and done the motel thing for days. This was so refreshing. having a washer and dryer really made this heaven for my wife. We completely enjoyed everything about this place.

Very pretty and interesting rustic cabin that has a unique personality to it. Quiet area on top of small mountain with a beautiful view and a cool breeze most of the time. Friendly town with lots of restaurants and things to do and see in the area. Very clean and well supplied with towels, dishes, pots and pans and everything you might need for your stay. Plan to try to come again this fall.

Cabin was very rustic and eclectic with many country and cabin decorations. Owners were very easy to communicate with. The driveway up to the cabin is paved which was nice since it is the steepest grade i have ever seen! But we made it up with our mini van. Larger 2 beds are quite comfortable, the 2 twins not so much. My only other negative is that I like to cook when we stay and I had to wash everything before I used it for cooking or eating and once clean we kept items seperate from ones I had not washed so it worked out. The fireplace was very nice on several cold evenings. The best part is the screened in back porch with a swing and rocking chairs, vey peaceful and relaxing.

The cabin was awesome! The directions to get there were excellent. And the renters were quick to respond with any questions we had.
