Wonderful woodsy place. Mike and Diane are really great responsive hosts. Our dog loved hunting ( never catching) frogs in the pond. Highly recommend!

If this place is available, book it. The house itself is spacious and comfortable and is situated on 70 acres of land with walking trails and a pond. Close proximity to a bunch of recreation in the Green Mountains, as well as the mad river area near Waitsfield. We stayed for a couple weeks in June and had an absolute blast. Highly recommend

The farmhouse was everything we had hoped for, and then some. The house is comfortably furnished, cozy yet spacious and meticulously maintained. There was a pleasant attention to detail from the complementary pancake mix and maple syrup to the vase of lilies awaiting our arrival. Diane and Mike were excellent hosts who clearly care about the property and were extremely knowledgeable about the area. They live nearby and can be reached easily but are respectful of their guests privacy. During a Vermont heatwave we were especially thankful for the nearly silent window air conditioners.
Be aware that groceries are a half hour away and that cell phone service is very spotty. However, if you plan accordingly, you could not find a better spot to enjoy Vermont.

We enjoyed the house as a family of 6. Lots of room to spread out or cuddle on the large couch. We loved the sauna, small frozen pond, fire pit, and wood-burning stove.

We loved staying at this property
The property managers were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back. Diane and Mike made it feel like home. The home was very nice and we had everything we needed. First time for us renting a home and honestly can’t see staying anywhere else in Vermont.

Nice place as advertised. Special thank for welcoming pets and not charging extra fees to them. If you need to go shopping or eating, you will be better driving north along route 100, not south.

Great house and very centrally located. The house was very clean and inviting with plenty of room. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do in Warren, Sugarbush and Mad River; check it out!

The home was even nicer than the pictures. It was so well appointed and welcoming. It did not feel like a rental but rather like we stepped into a farmilar home. The furniture, decor, pots and pans, bedding were very good quality and made the stay that much more enjoyable. The welcome basket was going above and beyond. We were so grateful we could bring our small dog. It was especially nice to meet Diane which made our stay even more personalized. I would highly recommend this property and if I were in the area, I would love to stay there again.

Beautiful location in the heart of Vermont Green Mountains. The house is very clean and large. All amenities you can think of. Located on the very private 70 acres partially wooded farmland. Nice pond next to the house. All Vermont you can think of. Excellent hiking. Major ski resorts nearby. The owners are very kind and responsive. Really enjoyed our stay. Five stars!

All the reviews are right, this place is as advertised. Set along an off the beaten path road, with very little traffic, really gives the serene setting. The exposed wooden beams and aroma of a wood burning stove and fireplace adds to the New England charm. Mike and Diane are great and very helpful.
Our dogs loved all the paths they cut through their massive property. The outdoor fire pit with the pond as the backdrop was a great place to relax by the fire.
Drive Plunkton road to Waitsfield, really beautiful views with amazing properties. The market at the East Warren School house was what you hope for in the area. The Von Trapp Farm stand a big winner too.
WIFi worked really well. Shower water pressure was great, and sauna a welcomed surprise.
Burlington and Stowe an hour away, Montpillar about 40 min.
Great place!

If I could give these hosts a 10 star rating I would. Diane and Mike were fantastic, extremely responsive and very kind. We wanted a quiet peaceful place for our family to be together as we were back east for a family burial. This place fit the bill perfectly. Upon arrival we found farm fresh eggs supplied as well as a beautiful bouquet of fresh lilacs. The farmhouse is close to the Stowe Waitsfield area and near one of the most scenic drives in Vermont. I would highly recommend staying here.

Our family enjoyed a lovely stay at Mike & Diane's slice of VT. They were helpful and accommodating and it had exceptional access to all the Mad River Valley had to offer. A wonderful spot to get away while being able to explore!

Mike and Diane were great hosts. The house was charming. Everything we needed was there. We loved the dogs. Raspberries, garden vegetables and blueberries were available to pick. Walking on property and in the neighborhood was like a visit to a park. And on top of all that when we had car trouble they were beyond helpful. Cannot thank them enough.

Perfect VT Fall Retreat
What a gem! One of our favorite places ever. Charming VT farmhouse. Greeted by fresh flowers and a gift of maple syrup & pancake mix. There was coffee as well as lots of other necessities in the cupboards. Bed was comfy & the den was a welcome place to relax. Games, puzzles, game table, fireplace with plenty of firewood and TV with awesome sectional couch. It was a perfect place to enjoy the fall colors. We hiked on the property but also in the National Forest a short drive away. Great central spot to explore in every direction. We loved being able to have our dog with us too! Great spot. Owners next door were very available if we needed anything but didn’t bother us. Would love to enjoy it at Christmas time! Can’t wait to go back!

Quiet and beautiful
We enjoyed the beauty of the property, the spaciousness of the house and the central locations to area hikes. We explored Burlington, Shelburne and Woodstock while we were there along with Warren Falls and Lareau swimming hole. The favorite was Lareau!

5 star stay
We found our new favorite spot! Great house (full of character and very well stocked) in a gorgeous location. We can't thank Diane and Mike enough. They are fantastic hosts - very warm and attentive and always available for questions or any help you might need. We wish they were our neighbors! Their house and entire property are immaculately taken care of and so beautiful and serene that we really enjoyed just staying at home for a couple of days and exploring surroundings. Walk or bike up and down North Hollow Road, check out beaver ponds, or climb the mountain behind the house. If you want to venture out, everything is an easy drive. Recommend Warren Falls, Lareau Park, and Blueberry Lake for swimming.
Waitsfield has a great Farmers Market (thanks for the tip, Diane!) and a few restaurants (we liked Mad Taco, Worthy Burger Too, Toast and Eggs and you have to have a creemee at Canteen Creemee). Mehuron's market is a great store to get your groceries and wine, and Product Think Tank, Whippletree Designs, and Green Closet provide some fun shopping opportunities. Lots of beautiful trails within 20 minutes in pretty much any direction. Bigger cities are about an hour away, but the drive is easy and beautiful. Highly recommend Shelburne Museum and Hildene. We loved visiting both Burlington and Manchester. If you are adventurous and have a couple of extra days - New York is only 5.5 hours away too. I can go on and on. lol Go visit! You will have no regrets. We can't wait to come back!

Pure Serenity
We had a wonderful time at Mike and Diane’s house. We have been coming up to Vermont for years and this was our best rental yet. They provided everything at the house and continued to help us while we were there. My sister had to work for 2 weeks and the WiFi was excellent. The town, about 20 min away had some of the best places to eat, as well as, a great market to get groceries. We will definitely be back!

A gem of a property with great owners
We spent a really enjoyable two weeks here. The house was clean and uncluttered and located on beautiful property up in the mountains. Lots of room on the property to roam with the dog, including some trails further up into the hills. A well-stocked fireplace + wood fired sauna were great ways to spend cold winter days.
The owner’s residence is nearby but separated by a wooded ravine, so the house still felt private and secluded. And the owners themselves were great. Little details like putting up a Christmas tree for us and dealing with a package that arrived after we left we’re appreciated. We’ll be back.

Really Nice Place to Stay
The house was a perfect fit for our week away. We enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen and sitting in front of the fire. The upstairs bedroom was a great extra space for yoga. And the property was great for long walks with the dogs. We also found Granville to be a great jumping off spot for exploring central Vermont.

Great farmhouse refuge
6 of us stayed for the month (4 in the main part, 2 in the apt) and had a great Covid-era staycation. We were all able to work simultaneously (both space wise and internet wise), and Mike and Diane had left good recs for grocery stores and restaurants within 20 minutes! Cool walking trails behind the house (we also hiked up to the top of the mountain) and friendly neighbors! Lovely, cozy stay with lots of wood fires!

My group had such a lovely Thanksgiving at Mike and Diane’s place. The house was very clean, nicely laid out and more than spacious enough for five. And the kitchen had the tools and setup we needed for our big meal. With a fireplace, a sauna and kitchen furnace, the house was nice and toasty the whole time we were there. The setting is amazing — there‘s plenty of exploring and hiking to be done, even in the cold. Near the house there are tons of little streams and waterfalls. We came from NYC and this was the perfect respite we were looking for, so worth the drive. We mostly are a group that hiked, read by the fireplace and baked, so we can’t speak for the surrounding towns, though they looked very charming and had cute restaurants and shops. Mike and Diane were great hosts — very helpful and responsive to our questions. What a special place. Thanks Mike and Diane!

An Idyllic Vermont Farmhouse
We had a beautiful Christmas week at this idyllic Vermont farmhouse in the heart of the Green Mountains. The owners, Mike and Diane, went above and beyond, cutting and decorating a live Christmas tree, and supplying local authentic products such as hen eggs and Vermont pancakes and maple syrup. The house itself was warm and comfortable, both for ourselves and our dinner guests. The location was ideal, being only 15 minutes away from the Sugarbush Ski area. We also enjoyed playing pond hockey on the backyard pond. In short, we had an exceptional stay at this gem of a Vermont farmhouse..

Best Rental EVER
This was quite literally the best vacation rental we've stayed in over the last few years. Upon our arrival, we found the house to be incredibly clean, fully stocked with fresh towels and linens, and Diane was kind enough to leave us a dozen fresh eggs from her chickens, pancake mix, and a couple info sheets with some of her own tips and recommendations for things to do in the area. Diane was so helpful during our stay, too, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and offering to bring us dry wood for the fireplace if we needed it. On top of all that, the house was fantastically charming and the absolute perfect place to spend a few days to get away from it all. We will definitely be coming back - it's 100% worth the 9 hour drive from Virginia!

Amazing Farm House experience!
This was an amazing location and stay. Best stocked Home Away we've been to (and we've been to many). Hosts provided coffee, and local eggs, pancakes and maple syrup for our breakfasts. Very comfortable. Very quiet. Plenty of dry firewood for the potbelly stoves and outside fire pit. Highly recommend this place!

Secluded, cozy charm
We absolutely adored this house and its country charm. It feels more secluded that it is, and was very clean and comfortable. The hosts were always available if needed. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates a place with character and uniqueness.

Perfect Getaway
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent here. The house is beautiful, warm, inviting, and full of every amenity you might need, including many family-friendly games and movies. And, the grounds...just perfect. Our kids loved the pond, and in fact, spent hours and hours every day catching frogs. It never got old. There are hiking trails to explore right on the property. The fire pit was wonderful in the evenings. Diane and Mike left very thoughtful goodies in the kitchen - fresh eggs, pancake mix, and jam made from berries in their yard - so welcoming...and delicious! It was very easy to relax here. And plenty of beautiful places to see if you feel like venturing out - we swam in blueberry lake and warren falls, and hiked to Sunset Rock, which was just the right length with young kids. Diane and Mike were easy to communicate with and quick to respond. All in all, it was a perfect getaway. We can't wait to visit again! Thank you!

Beautiful property and well equipped
This property is the perfect combination of rustic and creature comfort. It had all we needed and more, including fresh eggs and jam from the owner's farm. The owners were responsive with any questions we had and accomodating of our schedule. The place was clean, comfortable and cozy. Plus, it is very private and safe. It is on a dirt road with very little traffic. We will return.

Over the top property
This lovely home has everything....charm,spaciousness and just about every amentity that you might want. The home sits on a picture perfect property on a rural road, yet is close enough to small towns, general stores and outdoor activities. The backyard pond and firepit made it so easy to just relax and de stress. I think we only sat in the living room one evening all week. Diane has provided plenty of towels blankets and good quality bed linens. Our crew spent alot of time gathering around the kitchen island , in a welcoming kitchen . We wanted for nothing, only more time to spend here! And if you bring your dog,Diane provided a sweet dog welcome bag,dog dishes and personal towel. Our Lulu felt right at home.

Amazing property for a quiet getaway in Vermont
Our family of four was looking for a quiet place to call home base while we visited Vermont for the first time. We stayed a week and found Mike and Diane's farmhouse a perfectly comfortable destination for our time there. The front room provided plenty of space for reading and games. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking--we stayed in most evenings and prepared our own meals. The beds were comfortable, and our youngest loved the upstairs bedroom and all of the space she had to herself. The house is great, and the pictures Mike and Diane posted show it well. The best aspect of their property, though, is the land it is on.
The pond right out the back door had an abundance of frogs and newts that fascinated our kids. Though the owner's house is nearby (it is the only one near, and on the opposite side of the property from the pond), sitting by the pond or the firepit next to the pond can make you feel like you really have gotten away from everything. It rained off and on for the last days of our visit, but that wasn't a problem with the quiet it brought and the freshness to the green it brought out on the property.
The area of Vermont around us was perfect for the day-hiking we were looking for, and quick trips to Warren, Waitsfield, and Middlebury put us close to restaurants and shopping when we wanted an afternoon out. We also took a longer trip (just over an hour) to Burlington to visit the city and Lake Champlain--we found even driving in this area was charming.
Because we were there in mid-summer, the raspberries on the property were ripe, and we enjoyed picking and eating them as fresh as you can get them. Mike and Diane also kindly left a jar of just-made raspberry jam for us since the season was right for it.
We would happily stay at this property again. The owners were great as we planned the trip and helpful to all of our questions upon arrival. Our work schedule won't allow, but I would imagine the property is absolutely stunning in the fall when the colors come in, though it had plenty to offer us in late July.

Relaxing getaway for the whole family
We had absolutely the best time on our trip to Vermont. The whole week we couldn't stopping talking about next years trip and how we need to book 2 weeks next time. The house is beautiful and filled with everything you would need in a home away from home. We traveled with a toddler and there was so much to keep her entertained in the house. Diane even offered a pack n play for us to use for the week! We also brought our dog with us who had the best week of her life. The property is HUGE and there were lots of trails in the woods for her to explore. She loved running around outside and we enjoyed some visits from some of the neighborhood dogs who wandered up to say hello!
Diane left us lots of great recommendations for the week. We went to every swimming hole on her list and tried a few of the restaurants. We were there during 4th of July and we went to the Rochester parade which was lovely. The parade floats threw out candy for the kids and Bernie Sanders was there!
We had such a memorable week and we can't wait to come back!
