We had a wonderful y to time. Thanks so much for sharing your home.

We had a lovely time in this older home by the water. The beach was busy for the Fourth of July, but it was well kept by the maintenance staff of the Town. Early morning and late evening walks by the water were so nice since it was incredibly hot during the day when we were there. The water during the day was great for the little ones in our group since the water was calm. The house is very close to the beach- a 2 minute walk.

Nice place, very pleasant and plenty of space. Very convenient parking, right outside the side door. Kitchen is well-stocked; I brought some things, like a kettle, which turned out were already there. (But there was only a half-roll of paper towels in the kitchen; didn't realize I should have brought paper towels.). Charcoal for the grill was also provided -- that was a pleasant surprise. Slept in the downstairs queen bedroom; the bed is reasonably comfortable, but the mattress and box spring are a bit old and could stand to be replaced.

Lucia's property was delightfully themed, close to the beach, and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. We certainly hope to come again!

Betterton Beach is definitely a hidden gem! Absolutely relaxing. Property owner was always quick in responding and pleasant to deal with. House was big enough for my entire family and the views were perfect.

Wonderful holiday weekend stay at this welcoming home. Truly felt like a home away from home! Communication was excellent and Lucia and Ben are thoughtful and very accommodating hosts. Highly recommend!

Close walk to beach. Beautiful view of bay from porch and second floor bathroom. Door between living room and steps was great for keeping our small toddlers away from stairs. Stayed here twice, both times the owner was kind and quickly responded to questions. Spacious and perfect size for our four small families.

Betterton is a nice small town with a very relaxed environment. The beach is on the bay and has no jellyfish or serious waves. It is great for younger kids. We were able to charge our electric vehicle and there is a bathhouse for the public to use.
The house is a quaint, older house that is perfectly placed close to the beach but not in the path of other visitors. It has access to a nice view of the bay and beach access by two paths. There are enough rooms to house an extended family and it has a nice enclosed front porch and sun room. Many chairs and other beach accessories are provided by the host. There is a small playground across the street at the town hall and another larger one up the street.
4.7
Plenty of space! The house is very charming as well and the property managers were very responsive.

Pleasantly surprised by the close proximity to the beach and views from the house. The house is very spacious. Kitchen has plenty of supplies to prepare meals, which is necessary with no restaurants nearby. We did grill and prepared food inside. Expect 1920s charm with squeaky floors upstairs. 2 bathrooms with showers would be great but the kids enjoyed the clawfoot tub. We did arrive on a very hot day and don't think the home at time to cool off upstairs before the heat but by the middle of the night it was much cooler and comfortable. Plenty of beach chairs available and a few beach toys. Upon entering the home we were greeted by personalized note from the host. We did not need to contact them during our visit but prior to Lucia answered any questions I had promptly. I would recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in this area or looking for a reasonably priced beach getaway.

This cute, classic home offered the 6 bedrooms our family needs with several places to gather with others or sit alone. The a/c and ceiling fans kept the bedrooms comfortable, although the beds were a little hard for our taste. From the screened in front porch to the back room with many windows, it was all nicely decorated and equipped. As an older home, some spaces are small, but still updated and in good shape. The kitchen was updated recently and was sufficient for our family of 10 to cook all of our meals.

We had a girls trip here. Betterton is really a hidden gem. That quick walk to the little beach was easy and the beach was nice. The view was amazing as you walk down. The house was old, but had a lot of character. Came with the stuff it said it came with. The rooms were a bit dusty/musty. I feel like a deeper clean might be required. There are a lot of knooks and crannies that could use a good dusting, but there are cleaning suppliea if you want to do it yourself. The mattresses are VERY uncomfortable. If I went to this place again I would bring a topper. Also, there is a shower upstairs, but it is small, and the bathroom downstairs is a tub with a hose. With 7 of us we did okay but we all used the upstairs to shower and the "hose" for rinsing our feet mostly. It also remains hot upstairs, even with the AC, but we brought extra fans. Lucia was very communicative and answered all my questions. We had a great time at nearby wineries and the kitchen is nice for those who want to cook their meals in house.

We had a very pleasant week in Betterton. The property is an older home, but the kitchen is updated, and it is very comfortable. There was ample space for our extended family of 6 adults and 3 children. The property owners are very nice and responsive.
The house is a short walk to the beach or alternatively down some stairs. The beach is public, but during the week it is very quiet.

A very nice house in a great location in Betterton. Comfortable living room and dining rooms, real nice kitchen, bedrooms small but lots of them, 2 bathrooms, and air conditioning. We were surprised to have to bring our own sheets & towels but did not mind. Everyone in our group would like to stay there again.

We stayed here for my sister wedding weekend and this place was such a gem. The water view was a fun a surprise as well.
We had lots of adults and kids and had plenty of room for everyone to have their own space.
The house was clean and more than we could of asked for.
The owners were great with communication as well.

We needed a place to stay for a group of us for a wedding. The house was spacious and had plenty of room for all our guests and furry one. The house had everything that was needed including a deck and screened in porch. The host was incredibly nice and answered any questions right away ! Until this wedding I never knew this little gem of a town existed! I will definitely be back in the summer to enjoy the beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed the charm of the house and the location. Two in our group were deer hunting and two of us relaxed. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching two eagles perch high up on the hill in a tree. Our host was gracious and responsive. Hoping to return next fall!

We appreciate houses with historic character and this property had charm. Was very close to beach and public boat dock and launch. Worked well for us.

The house was very quaint. Plenty of room for 8 or more people. Quiet beach is a very short walk away. Plenty of chairs and toys made the beach much more enjoyable. As advertised bring your own towels and linen. Would definitely stay again.

A beautiful week in Betterton!
We absolutely loved Betterton and this house. Amazing location, great house, amazing porches (screened and open), and many other perks that might it great for a family.
The house was an old boarding house so there were a lot of rooms and the fact that it was an old and charming house didn't make it too squeaky and loud at night for people that had much different bedtimes (6 month old, 2 year old, 13 year olds, and adults).
There was more than enough space to cook in and some great charcoal grills. If you consider yourself a top chef and need very good saute pans I would consider bringing one or two, but not a major issue at all. There is lots of space to eat, outside, on a back porch, and a nice dining room.
If you have kids, don't bother packing a lot of beach toys! There are a lot already there! I would buy water socks though because the beach sand is a bit rocky.
Not much more to say but a couple things to address:
1. I had seen some people complaining the AC wasn't good enough. It was more than enough for us and kept the temp in the house to the temp on thermostate.
2. the internet. it's not great but we didn't go down there to stream movies. if you are going to have to "work from home" there, I'd suggest figuring out a hotspot situation.
LOVED THE PLACE!
Thank you Lucia and Ben.

Great experience
The house is nice, older so creaky, but spacious and plenty of bedrooms for all of my extended family. We knew about the downstairs bathroom only having a tub and no shower ahead of time. It was convenient for bathing kids but not for adults. We just took turns using the upstairs shower instead. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and was nicely updated. We appreciated the collection of dvds, especially all the kid-friendly titles. There was no internet when we first arrived but after contacting the host, she helped us get online and the speed was adequate for my brother who needed to work remotely for 2 days. She was also patient in answering all my other questions. The collection of beach chairs and toys included in the house was very much appreciated, so we didn’t have to pack that from home. The location is, of course, the best thing about the house. It was wonderful to just walk down to the beach and back whenever we wanted because it was so close. We would absolutely stay here again!

Relaxing weekend away
This house was even better than expected. Very spacious, comfortable and clean. Lucia was incredibly helpful even when I was texting her very dumb questions (wifi is on the fridge!). Super close to the beach, as listed.
The kitchen has all the standard tools you’d need. There are some board games, and since our weekend was rainy and we were stuck indoors we happily utilized those (and went out to buy more).
Just remember to pay attention to the listing! Bring your sheets and towels, and know that you’ll have to take a drive to get to any stores or restaurants, there’s not a lot nearby.
All in all, a super relaxing weekend. We really enjoyed our stay.

Good and not so good
Property, quaint, roomy, an old home. Outdoors, beautiful peaceful, Quiet, listen to birds, see the bay and boats and sunrise, all wonderful! Inside, New Kitchen, but had ants. Two bathrooms, but there was a flushing issue with downstairs one. Better for a younger group, not older ladies, one with handicap, Difficult getting in house, Totally impossible to use stairs to second floor.

Great location and neighborhood. All beds could use new mattresses and wifi signal isnt all that strong. We weren't there to be onlnie or to watch tv but rain and sewage in the bay fron Hurricane Ida left us with nothing to do. The park with a splash zone was a welcomed relief. Lucia was very easy to get in touch with when necessary.

Let me preface this by saying: The owners seem to be nice people, but there are so many issues with this house.
The only thing going for this place is its proximity to the beach. The town has no grocery store or even a gas station, everything is 20 minutes away. Keep in mind this place has room for 11 people, yet the internet isn't strong enough to stream television. We had better luck tapping into the public wifi offered near the beach. The water pressure is non-existent and there is an ant infestation. Not normal ants, large, aggressive, biting ants. We were there in mid-summer, and the first night the AC couldn't get below 80 bc it's cranked up in between visitors. Even after that it struggled to stay near the owner recommended 72, despite us closing off the back porch and doors to spaces that weren't being utilized, obviously keeping windows closed and shades drawn in effort to keep the place cool.
I can't fathom we are the first family to have any of these issues which makes me think somehow owners can remove bad reviews. We will be using other peer-to-peer rental sites from now on.
