My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods. If you want privacy, this is for you. Keep in mind that access is an easily driven dirt road. For us, that just added to its allure. One can easily stroll around the property, taking in the flowers, vegetation, and the sounds of the frogs talking to you out front. :)
The house was beautifully detailed and spacious. The loft contained a tub, walk in shower, washer/dryer, reading room, and spacious sleeping area with a balcony and skylights. It's perfect. My, only advice on the loft is that if you go to bed early while others stay up its probably better if you didn't sleep up there.
The first floor has a large kitchen with two sinks, a dishwasher, a counter to sit at, and is well stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils you will need. They even have a lobster pot which we used. The first floor also contains a living room, fireplace, dining table, a half bath, a bedroom, and access to a deck, with a grill and plenty of room
The "basement" is more of an apartment. Two bedrooms, a full bath, living room, dining table, and a kitchenette. It can get musty. Thats to be expected. It's a basement in the country not a showstopper. With use and air flow it dissipates.
It was a pleasure meeting Laurie. She's kind, attentive and kept us informed
We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this cabin to all who enjoy country living and all that goes with being in a cabin in the woods.

This home was a perfect place for our family to stay! The location was convenient for us to see all the sites in Maine we were hoping to. The kids had fun at beaches nearby, and we were very close for lobster festival. The house is a clean and spacious and set the tone for a very relaxing vacation! I would definitely recommend and revisit in the future!

Wonderful place to stay. I would strongly encourage the owners to add more pictures and pictures with labels of bedroom and bathroom locations with the photos. This property was larger than the few photos indicated and was perfect for our group of 3 separate family groups. Would also encourage including a privacy screen with the loft master suite to allow for more privacy if required-we used blankets over the railing. Complaints about musty smell in basement are valid but property owner doing everything possible to mitigate. Wife and I stayed in basement and damp smell wasn’t overbearing for us and the benefit of a completely separate living area in the basement far outweighed any concern. Will rent again if price remains reasonable.

We were part of the Salzedo Summer Harp Colony reunion/celebration in Camden, ME in July. I chose this property b/c of its easy access in getting our harps unloaded and into the house. The rustic feel of the log home was an ideal venue for us.

Stayed at the property for little over a week and it was wonderful. Kitchen had everything you could need to cook dinner and a tv with all the channels was such a nice bonus (never had this before). Everything was clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. Highly recommend.

Super private location, very spacious & beautiful log cabin open floor layout w/ downstairs apartment was just what we wanted! We absolutely loved this house & so close to the main streets of Rockport & Camden. Thank you very much for allowing us to explore & experience your gorgeous home!

We were thourghly pleased with our stay at the cabin. It is secluded and down it's own lane. There are neighbors but you don't even know they are there. Google maps does have a small hiccup and sends you to another property but had no bearing on how much we enjoyed the cabin. The space in the cabin is incredible and has plenty of room. As for location i felt it was perfect for us. We were able to see many sights all within an hour drive and there is a walmart approximately 4 miles away as well. Thank you for sharing your property with us!!!

Despite an extremely rainy and foggy week, we had a fun time at this Rockport log cabin. While we would have preferred a warm and sunny week, this spacious log cabin was a comfortable home away from home. The home is exceptionally private, well equipped, has lovely gardens. Our teen granddaughters found the frog pond in the front yard captivating. We couldn’t convince them that there might be a Prince Charming among the lily pads. As a base of operations, the cabin was conveniently located to Camden, Rockland, and Rockport.
We did have a few plumbing issues, but the property manager responded quickly to any concerns.
As noted in other reviews, there is a musty odor in the basement level, but our granddaughters didn’t complain; they were psyched to have the lower level all to themselves.

Perfect spot for exploring the mid coast. Well appointed, clean, private.
Property manager quick to respond to our questions.

It was all we hoped for. A few minor updates would be nice.
Additional dehumidifier(s) would improve the downstairs bad air situation.

This was our first experience with a VRBO type property and was very pleased. Location was very private but within biking distance of Rock port and Camden. Lot's of room, and so nice to come home to at the end of the day! Nice central location along the coast. Easy day trips to Freeport, Bar Harbor, etc. Home was very well stocked with everything we needed from kitchen to bedding. Everything was perfect, felt just like home!!

In the middle of so much to do
No matter which direction you go there is stuff to do. Acadia, York, Bar Harbor, and so much more.
House had Lots of space! 3 adults, 3 older teenagers, and one child could comfortably share this space. It is quiet. And the adorable frogs in the tiny pond outfront.

Nice house. Kitchen could use more cookware. There was a moldy smell in the basement section of the house which made it hard to occupy that part of it, so that should be made very clear on the description of it.

Extremely pleasant
The house was exactly as advertised. We were there for a family wedding and had family over a lot. I don't know how often families with toddlers stay but we had 2 and perhaps a type of fencing for the lower part of the deck rails would be nice. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. So peaceful in the morning.

Good location--spacious and clean
This property is large enough for a family to spread out, and has a great deck and yard. It's a good location, close to Camden and Rockland harbors.

Beautiful Summer Escape!
Gorgeous property! The place is huge! Master loft upstairs with clawed tub and also a shower and a separate laundry room, bedroom on main floor and 2 bedrooms in basement. Half- bath main level and another full bath in basement. Gorgeous living space with stone fireplace and dining table, couch, rocker and recliner. It was really hot the week we were there, so in that aspect I missed A/C so slept on main level for about half our stay as upstairs got pretty warm. There is a ceiling fan and some standing fans to use. Basement area was nice and cool but musty (which was disclosed) so didn’t spend much time there except to use the bathroom as there were 4 of us there. Overall very clean, quiet and beautiful! Nice kitchen to cook in with any dishes, glassware, silverware/utensils or pans you might need. If it were a bit cooler out our week away it would have been a little more comfortable but that isn’t the fault of the cabin! Plus we went fishing and swimming literally 2 minutes around the corner from our street to cool off and really enjoy it! Restaurants not too far in Camden, which is Rockport’s sister town. Many close by 8p so look on the earlier side if you want dinner out. Boothbay Harbor about an hour away which is SO worth a day trip there. I would recommend bringing bottled water as water on tap is sulfur-smelling. Also a nice point of the property is that it is down a long dirt driveway so set way back from the road. Laurie, the property manager, was highly-responsive to all my questions and even offered to reimburse for another fan to help us feel more comfy! Thank you for an awesome vacation stay!

Great time
Loved the ambiance- it was exactly as pictured. My family was very comfortable there. The only negative I could say was the downstairs had a musty smell

Secluded and spacious cabin
The listing really doesn't do the space justice! The basement level is essentially its own home with a full kitchen and family space. The main level has a wonderful outdoor terrace with open kitchen and great room. The gas logs provide heat and ambience. Close to Camden and Rockport. Downers - the driveway is a rutted dirt track with brush close enough to scratch the paint on your vehicle, gps doesn't bring you to the correct house, and the water has a sulphurous odor, so bring bottled water for drinking.

What's not to love?!!!
What a fabulous place to stay and enjoy Midcoast Maine. The 'cabin' is secluded; you access it via a driveway that looks like a dirt road. I hesitate to call it a cabin, however, because it is spacious and comfortable with inviting spaces and artwork. We loved the extensive deck and porch overlooking the back yard; and the balcony off the loft upstairs. The landscaping is beautiful. Although one feels secluded and miles from civilization, everything one needs is a short drive away - shopping, entertainment (love the Strand theater in Rockland), art galleries, walks along Camden and Rockland Harbor ... Laurie, the property manager, quickly responded to any questions and was very helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, refreshing, yet lively experience along the Maine Coast.

Gorgeous house inside and out- perfect for larger families!
The pictures (as good as they are) don't even do it justice- the place is AMAZING!! 8 of us were completely comfortable without ever feeling like we were on top of each other. We even had 4 add'l family members (staying about 20 min. away) over for the day and STILL felt like there was SO MUCH SPACE. Def. the best property we've ever stayed at both from a cleanliness standpoint but even more so, from a spacious & true "getaway" …. and we've stayed at MANY over the last 13 years of vacationing. Thank you, Laurie for the most wonderful time ever!

Unforgettable family vacation
Cozy fire first chilly night. Then warm weather for frisbees on the expansive lawn area, barbecue and dinner every night on the large comfy deck, cards and other games at the large dining room table, pancakes and other meals prepared in the well stocked kitchen. Short jaunt into Rockport/Rockland/Camden art galleries, dining, lighthouses and coast views. Attended a charming outdoor concert nearby, daughter ran nearby scenic trails, grandkids play/swam in a pristine lake (ages 6 and 4) four minutes drive from the cabin. Morning coffee on the spectacular deck. My husband and I flew in from California and showed up with nothing but a few clothes, good coffee beans and some games.Everything essential was awaiting. Nearby markets easily supplied the rest. Our party consisted of five adults and two children. My son and wife and two little ones were in the "basement", daughter in the ground floor bedroom, hubby and I in the loft. The only issue was the mustiness of the basement, which could be a very nice space if not so musty-damp. Perhaps a screen door so the basement door could be opened at night?
We are so grateful for this special time with family in a beautiful setting. Unforgettable.

Beautiful, Quiet Cabin for the Whole Family
Our family all had a wonderful time here! It was quiet and secluded, but not far at all from some beautiful towns like Rockport, Rockland, and Camden. Had plenty of room for 8 of us and all the amenities we needed (and then some). The only drawback was the dampness in the basement, especially on particularly warm, humid days. The humidifier doesn't seem to be big enough for that space during those days. We'd imagine it would be just fine on cooler days or some other season besides summer, though. Other than that, it's a lovely place to stay. Highly recommend it and would certainly stay again!

Beautiful home!!
This was our families 1st trip to Maine. We traveled from alabama! We were definitely worried what the house would be like, was it close enough to all the things we wanted to see. It worked out perfectly, it was in the middle distance wise to everything we wanted to see and just a short drive to resturants and the harbor. The home had absolutely everything we needed. It took a minute to get used to the no air conditioning but otherwise we would recommend the home to anyone!

Beautiful, tranquil setting
We were about 5 miles from Rockland, less to Rockport Harbor, and a bit longer to Camden. The unpaved track from the road is bumpy, but manageable. It is in wooded setting, so expect to have spotty cell coverage inside house. Although we were experiencing wifi and minor plumbing issues, Laurie (property mgr) arranged to have these fixed as quickly as possible. House is well-equipped and comfortable.

This home was so comfortable, well decorated, and an ideal space for adult couples or a large family
My husband and I, both just a few years from retirement, and our treasured little pooch were so impressed with the quiet and serenity of the property. The beds were all comfortable and I slept like a queen. The showers had great water pressure. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, and any sort of pot or pan desired. The decks, one off of the master bedroom, the other off the living room were outstanding and so very relaxing. We frequently spend a few weeks in the mid-coast area, and this home was second to none. We fully intend to return this summer, and hope to rent this property again. The property manager, Laurie, was very accommodating, and her son, a fine college student, was a pleasure to meet. Thanks for sharing your home with us. See you in 2018.

A Lovely Surprise
Some times pictures do not tell the whole story, so all of us (a party of 6) were surprised and pleased with what the house had to offer. It's a large house and the best one we rented in the last three years. I certainly would do so again.
The only drawback for some people is the tap water has a high concentration of sulphur somewhat akin to mineral water spas found in Europe - not harmful at all to drink, but best not to use in ice and cooking.

The place is charming and clean. Master and 2nd bedroom, kitchen, deck and living room excellent.
A great place for extended family to gather. Short drives to Camden or Rockland. Did day trips to Bar Harbour and Belfast. We loved the cottage and area. Experienced 2 little problems, and they were dealt with asap. Thank you!

Very nice and secluded
This rental was very nice for a big group. It's pretty secluded which is nice for us. It had a huge yard and a beautiful deck!! Our three year old loved being able to run free in the yard. The basement are was great and spacious. It had two bedrooms, a living room and full kitchen and full bathroom, we loved it!! The main floor was nice with a living room, full kitchen, and half bath. The upstairs master was very spacious and wonderful. We would definitely stay here again. Laurie was extremely easy to work with and any issues that we had (which weren't many) and she was very quick to respond.

Absolutely Wonderful Coastal Maine Cabin in the Woods
Our family fell in love with this rather spacious cabin in the beautiful coastal woods of Rockport. It is the perfect central location to see the best of Maine's coastal region highlights. In our week we were able to visit Bar Harbor, hike the trails of Acadia National Park, enjoy the sites and history of Searsport, Lincolnville, Camden and Rockport, combed the beaches in Owl's Head, experienced the Old Pier and Atlantic Ocean at Old Orchard Beach and shopped the L.L. Bean in Freeport. This cabin provided us everything needed to make our first exploration of Maine wonderful. It's amazing charm had us begging to make it our own! I've never been more disappointed to see a vacation end. Hopefully, we will find ourselves here again next year....for two weeks!
