Durmast House is a handsome property reached at the end of the drive. The house is set in 4 acres of garden designed by the famous Edwardian designer Gertrude Jekyll and which is listed in the Hampshire Register of Historic Gardens. Guests are welcome to wander around the garden.
This comfortable flat has accommodation on two levels and is a generous size. From the entrance hall is a fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast table and four chairs. On the first floor there is a large sitting room with a three piece suite and a more formal area. Adjacent is the bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes with an en suite bathroom.

We stopped for a week at the end of May and felt relaxed and at home from the very first minute. The apartment was immaculately clean and comfortable, the shower (which hasn't been mentioned much in other reviews) was superb and the gardens were a delight. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. All parts of The New Forest and coast were easily accessible. We would certainly be happy to recommend here to others and look forward ourselves to returning in the future.

Had a lovely short break, in this very pleasant accommodation. Location is perfect for walks and discovering The New Forest. The owners were always on hand for any requests or advice and made us feel welcome. Very much enjoyed staying in this older property with character and beautiful garden. We hope to return again in the near future.

Despite the horrendous rain we had a lovely time. I can see the garden will be beautiful in a few month - it was just starting to bud while we were there. The short walk to the pub was enjoyable (bring a torch), and Burley village is very friendly.

A very nice apartment. The wing of an 18th century Manor house with a beautiful garden. Large and comfortable. Very quiet location but convenient for new forest sights and coast. Everything provided but shower gel, salt, pepper and cooking oil would have been welcome.

We stayed here for 5 nights over the Christmas period including Christmas Day. We were very pleased with the accommodation - very spacious, quiet and lovely and warm! The host, Philip, was very friendly but not intrusive in any way. The location is perfect for exploring the villages in the forest and for forest walks. Parking is right outside the door so very easy to unload the luggage. We hope to revisit at some point as we had a great time. Thank you, Philip.

We spent a lovely 10 nights at the flat listed. Beautiful location exactly as listed. Hosts were living downstairs and always available if we needed anything. Highly recommend this location for a couple.

My Daughter and I enjoyed a very memorable stay at Durmast house in Burley. The gardens at Durmast house hold a mysterious quality. The flat was elegant and cleaned to a high standard. I had the best nights sleep ever on a super comfy bed. The bathroom is delightful and I much enjoyed my bathe. We really enjoyed our walks and the local pub in walking distance from the property at Burley. It is easily accessible to the New forest. I would highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay.

it would have been nice if there was more information about places to visit good restaurants and pubs in the area that allow dogs and not just a list of dos and donts. also there is a dressing table but NO plug socket so i was unable to do my hair.

Our second visit to this delightful property did not disappoint. Our hosts were very welcoming and the flat and the grounds were just beautiful. Wow ! 😊 Durmast House is the perfect location for a stay in the New forest. The apartment itself was lovely and we especially enjoyed the luxurious bathroom and the lovely large roll top bath. The gardens are beautiful even in February and we hope to return for a follow up stay later in the year.
