About this cottage rental
Open the oak patio doors and step out with a glass of something chilled then sit on your own terrace and take in the panorama that stretches from Cader Idris, South Snowdonia's most explored mountain around to Cardigan Bay and the Presili Mountains of Pembrokeshire.
This traditional stone barn was converted in 2015 into a beautiful two bedroom cottage that has everything you need to enjoy the sea and mountains of Snowdonia and the Cambrian Coastline.
There are two bedrooms one with a double bed and ensuite shower/wc as well as a twin room with shower and toilet next door. The Kitchen with its solid oak worktop and built in induction hob will make preparing breakfast and dinner simple tasks. From the leather suite in the lounge area you can take in the great views through the panoramic windows that run from floor to ceiling or in the evening enjoy the TV with its free to view channels and access catch up TV as well as Now TV films.
The whole cottage is tastefully furnished with solid oak furniture and WiFi is provided free of charge.
The patio terrace is equipped with table, chairs, parasol and BBQ. Guests will also have access to the grounds around Gwastad Agnes and will be able to enjoy beautiful walks that start on your doorstep. This may be helpful if you have brought your dog with you. Up to two well behaved pets are welcome as long as they stay in the lounge area and not the bedrooms.
Agnes Fach sits 500 feet above Barmouth in a quiet spot on the mountain side and at the start of a ridge that will take you to the southern tip of the unique Rhinog Mountains and beyond. It is one of Britain's most unspoiled areas.
If your looking for somewhere to eat and drink then Barmouth with its fine Blue Flag beach is only a mile away on foot and 5 minutes in the car.
For those who like cycling, the Mawddach Trail is a beautiful level off road route alongside the finest estuary in Europe and National Cycle Route 8 will take you through some fabulous countryside. The National Mountain bike centre at Coed y Brenin is only 20 minutes away. The Mawddach Estuary and cardigan Bay are great locations for Kayaking or paddle boarding and if Rock Climbing is your bag a quarter of a mile above Agnes Fach you will find the popular Barmouth Slabs.
Twenty minutes North of Barmouth you can visit the World Heritage Site - Harlech Castle. Its a great afternoon out with a beautiful new visitor centre that has one of the finest views of any cafe in Wales. A more colourful piece of architectural history can be found at Portmeirion with its stunning Italianate village. Zip world, Llecwyth Slate Caverns and King Arthur's Labyrinth provide opportunities not just to go over our mountains but also to find out what they are like on the inside. Fun experiences for all ages.
Barmouth is well served by Public Transport and you can travel to and from Barmouth by bus or train from Monday through to Sunday. The T3 Bus Links Barmouth with Wrexham and all points in between whilst the Cambrian Line will take you South to Birmingham International or North to Pwllheli linking up with the historic and quaint Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam Line near Porthmadog. Or you can just relax on your patio, enjoy the BBQ, have a glass of wine and look out over the Cambrian Line as it clings to the cliffs around the coast on its way to Aberdovey......Now that sounds a good plan!.

Whoch means yoy can be far from the madening crowds. Y0ou can also camp here beautiful spot to camp and sit and look at the wiews of the mountains and the sea and valley all from the same place. Any one wishing to get away from it all should stay here . It is on the mountain so people who dont have good mobiilty maybe would find it difficult to walk from this place. Very narrow road to get up to this place. I loved coning back here as there is no where in the world like it and at this time of the year the wild flowers and gardens are beautiful.. i would e

On arrival we were blown away with the views, and the gorgeous property and received a warm welcome from the owners. This haven ticked all the boxes. Stunning walks from the front door. Warm, cosy house with panoramic views of the mountains & sea. Can’t fault it. We will be back to this happy place very soon. A big thank you to the owners for making this special place available to us.

There is a campsite just outside this property - empty when we stayed, however so beautifully quiet.
Warm let with good showering and hot water. Average beds. Tired kitchen but all working. Beware - no internet for TV or streaming on any of the evenings we were there - fine all day then dead at night. Owner unable to help. Spoilt things in many ways. But wonderful outlook over the mountains. Walking wonderful too. Bad mobile signal in house. Great - if you don't need C21 comms.

The barn is really warm and cosy, has the best showers we've ever used anywhere, has everything you need for your stay, comfortable beds, and the views.. ohhh the views! Spectacular estuary, sea and mountain views with scenic walks right from the barn. We hardly used our car all week. The hosts were really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us. We will definitely be coming back. I done know who loved it most, us or our 2 dogs!

Extremely welcoming owners. Beautiful barn surrounded by stunning scenery. Better than we expected.

Stunning panorama- way up in the clouds( January)
Cosy, warm and very clean with a view to die for- the trade off for such an amazing view is that you will need a vehicle ( unless you are a seasoned walker/hiker), in order to access town, beach and all that The Mawddach Area offers

Lovely, peaceful dog friendly stay
We enjoyed a New Year break in this cottage. It suited us fine being only a few minutes from the town and dog friendly. We used it as a base to tour Snowdonia, and had lots of fun walking, visiting castles and waterfalls and country pubs.
It was small as described but perfect for 3 of us, with fantastic views.

Perfect little idyll to get away from it all
We loved our weekend here. Great directions and easy check in, well equipped cottage that was clean, cosy and comfortable. Great location tucked up in the hills above Barmouth so perfect for either heading into the hills, strolling on the beach or simply relaxing and enjoying the view. Would highly recommend.

Stunning location
This is not luxury accommodation but it does not purport to be. There is a combined kitchen/dining/ living area which can feel a little claustrophobic but it doesn't matter because you will spend most of your time outside on the terrace looking at the amazing views - the best of any property we have holidayed in. The surroundings are woods, rocky hillsides and heather-covered slopes, which held some fine birds including Redstarts, Flycatchers, Choughs, Peregrines and Ravens. There is a very small campsite adjacent but our stay was unusually quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted. Just a few minutes away are some outstandingly good beaches, too, recommended by the host, who is knowledgeable about the local area. We would certainly consider a return visit.

Cannot recommend this property highly enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+From the Initial email from Graham which was full of useful information to our farewell, Graham and Ann couldn’t do enough for us. The property is spotless and is situated in an absolutely breathtaking location. We will definitely be back. Amazing hosts
