About this house rental
Ruby Bell's is a hidden gem nestled on Society Street with double front porches and a huge magical tree in the front courtyard! A white picket fence marks the address adding ambiance and privacy to the double porches. As you walk to the end of the hallway, you will unlock the door leading passed a reading nook with a love seat tucked away at the bottom of the staircase. At the top and to the right you'll see room No. 4 with two queen beds and a fireplace.
The large windows and elegant blue ceiling give this room a calming ambience. Next door there's a marbled floor bathroom with 1920's patina clawfoot tub to soak or shower. This lovely bathroom is perfect for primping at the large vanity and vintage stool. Room No. 2 has twin beds and an exposed brick wall to ceiling fireplace, bringing warmth into this welcoming room for two.
Both of these rooms have access to the enclosed porch that travels the length of the building with a bench to sit and relax. Take the back door down to the garden but be careful on the outdoor stairway. To the left side of the staircase you will find a room to gather in with a galley kitchen featuring a full size fridge, retro apartment stove, dishwasher, and open shelving nestled on the exposed brick original to the home.
There's bar seating around an industrial island, perfect for entertaining as the kitchen opens into a comfortable den with another fireplace. Through the french doors you'll find the largest and most elegant bedroom in the house. A king bed with a velvet settee at the foot, facing a fireplace. This room boasts storage for a long stay in the chifforobe and a lovely vanity. Glass doors open up onto a sleeping porch overlooking Society st. perfect for afternoon naps or enjoying Charleston's breezy evenings and the smell of magnolias.
You'll find everything you need to relax and feel at home. Ruby Bell's apartment has been thoughtfully furnished with eclectic vintage pieces, funky artwork, and a collective of plants in neat pots throughout this home adding to this perfect Charleston getaway.

We loved everything about this rental! It was clean, cute, had plenty of space and everything we needed. The inside is spacious and decorated well, but we spent the majority of our time on the large and comfy balcony, or walking through the city to the many shops, restaurants and attractions all within walking distance to the property. The host was very nice and quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again!

We had an amazing time celebrating our daughter's graduation and exploring Charleston! This house is centrally located to all the best restaurants, stores, market, the battery and Rainbow Row. We loved walking everywhere and spending time on the deck. Such a charming place!

We went to Charleston for my best friends Bachelorette party and couldn’t have been happier with the location and quality of Ginger’s property. This apartment has everything you’d need and so much antique and vintage beauty! The only thing we struggled with was there is only one shower so keep that in mind!! We made it work :) Our bride feels loved and ready to get married and we have such beautiful pictures and memories to look back at!!! Thank you Ginger!

Clean, spacious, and comfortable second floor apartment in a most convenient location in Charleston. The host was quite helpful and responded promptly to any question. The in/out parking next door could not be easier. The location is actually in a neighborhood - between King and Meeting Streets - nearby coffee shops, restaurants, stores, and the free trolley that quickly takes you downtown or uptown. Another apartment is on the first floor, but we did not hear our neighbors in this older home. Just to note - there are 17 steps to reach the second floor apartment. Ruby Bell's was a delightful choice for us!

Here are comments from four of us over-65 women who shared the spacious Ruby Bell’s Apartment. Terrific location: Easy to get to everything whether walking or using free CARTA buses and Uber. Eclectic artwork was so interesting and added to the character of the house. We loved the verandah for sitting, talking and enjoying coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon. We appreciated the refrigerated bottled water and the very comfortable beds. Charleston is such a foodie city, and we especially loved having Christophe Chocolatier and Patisserie a few doors away. We would return to Hank’s Seafood (walking distance), Lewis Barbecue (Uber ride), and 82 Queen (walking distance). Minor drawbacks: 1) didn’t get check-in info until a couple hours before fixed 4:00 PM check-in time; 2) water closet in kitchen area with bathtub in master bedroom -- but we showered in the lovely modern full bathroom.

Ginger’s place was wonderful, a true quintessential Charleston experience. It was nice and roomy for 3 couples with comfy beds for a good nights sleep after our busy days exploring this beautiful historic city. We loved the antique furnishings and art work and the covered outdoor porch. The shower was the best we’ve ever been in, wish I had it at home! It is also in a great location, we walked everywhere! Thank you Ginger!

This apartment was located right in the middle of the historic district in Charleston. Our group was able to walk everywhere, except for a visit to a plantation and to/from the airport. We found all kinds of restaurants, coffee places, a Target, ice cream and candy stores, the City Market and all kinds of shopping. It was in a wonderful location and the host was very responsive to our questions and needs. I would highly recommend it.

We had the best time at The Ginger Lilly house. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. Ginger was so accommodating and the location was perfect. We were within walking distance to just about everything. The house itself was full of charm and absolutely beautiful.
I would highly recommend staying here. We will be back for sure!!

The property is exactly as described, clean and on a quiet side street. Walking distance to nice restaurants. There were 4 in our party of 70+ year olds so car was needed to get to the historic Charleston district (i.e. Rainbow Row and the Old Jail House).
Be aware and have your cell phone charged and contact information with you as the property manager only provides access to the property minutes before the official check-in time by email correspondence which is not optimal given how circumstances affecting email communication can change for either the host or guests.
We would stay here again and recommend to those wishing to step back a bit into colonial Charleston.

We stayed here for my bachelorette weekend and I cannot recommend this place enough! It is smack down in the middle of everything! Shopping, attractions, restaurants, clubs, everything you could possibly want for a bachelorette! And the place is absolutely adorable. I would highly recommend! Check out the restaurant next door for some great food and service!

We LOVED this apartment. It was quaint with loads of decorating details. Amenities were provided as expected. It was easy to get in touch with the property owner who was extremely gracious. She even set up a Christmas tree as requested since this was a Christmas vacation. The location was perfect for walking to many Charleston sites. Perfect vacation spot!

Great location!
Steps away from tons of shopping and restaurants. Walking distance to everything. I didn’t realize that this was a house and the upper level and lower level are divided into 2 separate rentals. We had the upper level which was spacious for 5 adults. The host Ginger was lovely.

Perfect for a Bachelorette Weekend
A group of 6 women stayed at Ginger's place in Charleston for a long weekend to celebrate a bachelorette party, and we could not POSSIBLY have picked a better home. Each girl was able to have her own bed and there was enough room for everyone to get ready and to enjoy some drinks on the beautiful balcony before heading out on the town. We never took an uber anywhere since the location of Ginger's home was central to everything. Cannot recommend Muse (right next door) or Hanks Seafood enough! Ginger's home truly made our weekend unforgettable. Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend! Ginger was very responsive, all her directions for packing up were very clear, and she even brought in our luggage while she cleaned before our check in time. (Luggage also included alcohol which she put in the fridge for us so it would be cold!) Overall, amazing experience,

Charleston is our favorite city… 7th year doing the Cooper River Bridge 10j
We enjoyed Charleston as always… house was a great location. We managed with using our own computers but Roku TV did not offer local stations and ESPN or access to women’s college basketball championships which was nationally broadcast?

Awesome house, great location.
My friends and family absolutely loved this house, it had everything you needed in a great location close to food, shopping and more. My mom wanted to take the house home with her!! Ginger was great from start to finish and accommodated us on a few travel hiccups. I would definitely recommend this house.

Charming in Charleston
We loved this quirky, spacious home from corner to corner inside and out. Ginger was the perfect hostess with attention to every detail so we had all we needed - sumptuous towels, lovely toiletries, snuggly robes and throws and even snacks. We were especially crazy for the front porch. Great location too with easy parking for a small fee. Ginger was very responsive and gave us loads of tips for dining and more.

Convenient Location
Cute and eclectic old home in walkable distance to most sites and restaurants. Fine for small groups as there is only one full bathroom. Perfectly adequate for using as a hub for site seeing, shopping and dining at restaurants. The owner is very helpful and accommodating.

Great location and property!
Vacationers Must be very quiet due to tenants below this property! Only one actual shower but it does have two toilets at least! The only big negative I thought was the 16.00 per day per car for parking in a driveway that only accommodates SMALLER cars!!!! I personally think, for what you pay per night to stay, should cover your parking IF your car can fit in the driveway. I was a little disappointed in this as were my 5 other friends. Parking deck would have been better if I had know the size of this driveway!!!

Perfect spot for a girls getaway!
We had so much fun at this place! We were a crew of five girls who've known each other for way too long and came from all over to meet up in Charleston. This location was PERFECT. and this apartment could not have been cuter. So perfect, and the bathrooms are updated so everything was super clean and amazing. We walked everywhere, this place is super central. Loved every second and Charleston is beyond charming. We'll be back!
