About this apartment rental
The apartment is on the first floor of an 18th century town house in a tranquil pedestrian street in the historic centre of Uzès, away from the crowds yet just a minute’s walk from the busy popular Place aux Herbes - the best of both worlds. White wooden beams and walls, limed wooden and tiled terracotta floors provide a simple backdrop for colourful textiles. A large, light and well-equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area looks on to the street, and opens through to the comfortable sitting room with huge period stone fireplace. This room provides a welcome retreat from the sun in summer.
A small and sunny glazed conservatory area with table and chairs opening on to a balcony area is perfect for cooler days and leads up two or three steps to a large sunny terrace (much sought-after in the centre of Uzès) surrounded by trees, rooftops and with glimpses of the countryside beyond.
The master bedroom has a double bed, while a second, smaller bedroom, the other side of the little salon, has twin beds. There is a shower room with WC, and second WC with basin.
The apartment provides many attractive spots to sit and read, eat, relax at different times of the year. Listen to the nightingale on an early May morning, watch the house martens swoop round late evening from the terrace in summer. If lucky, you might see a hoopoe.

The apartment is perfectly located in a quiet street just a few minutes from the centre of Uzes. It is beautifully decorated with a great terrace with shade. The kitchen, living room and main bedroom are very spacious and beautifully appointed. The second bedroom is accessed via the 'winter room' so feels a bit disconnected from the main rooms. We stayed in July and the heat was an issue as the apartment is very hot despite the many ventilators. The main bedroom was cooler in the evening but the rest of the flat stayed very warm in the evenings. All the arrangements were very smooth and all went very well. We had a great week in Uzes.

There were four seniors in our stay in Nightingale, the name of our apartment, the apartment was well appointed and the rear deck patio was a great place to end the day. We had one flight of stairs from the street to our apartment so no problem with the stairs. The location was great, easy walk to everywhere inside the ring road. We highly recommend the apartment as a great rental when in Uzes.

I recently completed a two month stay at Catherine’s beautiful Uzes home. I booked my trip in December of 2019 and after two years of COVID delays I finally arrived in Uzes mid-September 2022. It was everything and more than I had imagined. I immediately felt at home and a part of this great community. The kitchen/ dining area became the center of my days. The large windows opened up to the pedestrian street and the sweet sounds of people greeting others in the street was comforting. All of the rooms were very spacious and very well furnished. I spend a few weeks there alone and always felt safe. I had multiple family visitors throughout the stay and we always had plenty of room. I liked early mornings in the sunroom and evenings on the beautiful terrace. It seemed that every day I found a little something extra that would make me smile - a little piece of art tucked behind a door or the smell of flowers on the terrace. It was a 5 minute walk to the Saturday and Wednesday markets, and the bakery was at the top of the street as well as cafes, restaurants, shops and an ATM. I hope for an annual trip back to this home away from home. Don’t hesitate to contact Catherine if you are looking for the perfect get away in Uzes.

Perfect
We enjoyed 3 wonderful months in Uzes and Catherine's apartment was perfect. An extended stay tests a spot and this apartment was perfect.
Excellent location - moments away from Place aux Herbes, grocery shopping, restaurants and bars.
The apartment is spacious, comfortable and clean. It worked very well when family members came to stay (using the second bedroom). The terrace is a delight and the sunroom perfect for those slightly cooler days. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need for eating in. A comfortable bed, excellent hot water and a comfortable lounge area meant our extended stay was perfect.
Communication with the local host (when needed) was easy and efficient.
We highly recommend Catherine's place and plan on a return.

Spacious In-town Apt with Greenery
Artfully decorated appartment within a two minute walk of restraurants, bakeries, shops, banks, supermarket and post office, even. Parking is on the street 5-10 minute walk away depending on where you find a spot. Twice in one week I got the absolutely closest spot to the apartment. The other times were a walk to where most people park on the ring road. The apartment has everything but a TV and coffee maker. We just used our iPad and the wifi to watch movies and the local news. For coffee, we walked two minutes to the Tabak store connected to a bar next door and got really good takeout café creme every morning before stopping at the bakery for fresh Viannese croissants, you know, the buttery flaky kind.

Absolutely Wonderful Apartment in all Respects
The pictures just can't communicate how wonderful this place really is! Catherine, the owner has the artistic touch and the apartment is full of really nice surprises. It is much larger than the photos depict as well, with lots of room to spread out and enjoy. It is close to everything and being on a pedestrian street, it is blissfully quiet. Anette the property manager is a treat as well - always ready to help, answer questions and is really easy to communicate with. I can't recommend this spot enough!

absolutely wonderful - definitely recommended
We stayed in Catherine’s apartment in Uzès for a week in October. The apartment is very comfortable and very well equipped. It is nicely decorated with a very good taste and lovely details. The location of the apartment is absolutely perfect. It is in a quiet street, but only 100 metres away from the central square called “Place des Herbes” with a lot of cafes and shops.
The city centre offers numerous historical landmarks, has a lot of interesting shops, and a wonderful market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. All cafes’ and restaurants’ terraces create a lively atmosphere.
Catherine organized our check-in & check-out by Anette who was very friendly and eager to help with anything we might have needed. This is also the case for Catherine who gave us many information about Uzès and how to get there in advance. Both are exceptionally kind and very generous.
During our week in October, it was still warm, which was why we were able to relax on the wonderful terrace belonging to the apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment and we hope to come back soon.
Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A little gem!
This property was enchanting, spacious , and so peacefully quiet ! Slept gloriously . Wonderful conservatory and deck ... we sat watching the sun go down with wine ... heavenly .
Fantastic location only 2 minutes walk away from the Place aux Herbes.
Lovely neighbour who owns Perfectly Imperfect, a wonderful shop , she was so helpful to us with a few travel challenges we experienced during the strike . Visit her and be delighted in the treasures of her store ! She also speaks fluent English as well as French .
The owner and guardian were exceptionally kind, welcoming and generous . They opened the flat to us early when we had to leave Paris ahead of time due to strike action and a de us feel so welcome .
Even though the strike was challenging , can’t say enough about the kindness of people to help . Uzes is charming and you won’t be disappointed in this flat or with Cath and Anette !
Many thanks for everything , Deborah , Victoria , Canada

Exceeded all expectations
Every aspect of our experience in relation to our stay at this property in Uzes was delightful and exceeded our (already high) expectations. Catherine could not have been more helpful or accommodating to our needs when we made the booking and provided very helpful information before our visit, as well as in the property itself. Anette, who met us to give us the keys and show us round the apartment made us feel so welcome and completely at home within minutes of our arrival. She answered all our questions and checked on day 2 that we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay. The location of the apartment is perfect - just a few minutes easy walk from the very centre of this beautiful town in a quiet, historic little street full of real French charm and with an award-winning boulangerie just steps from the front door. The apartment itself is a lovely, airy, well-laid-out space with everything we could wish for. The roof terrace is a very special treat - a peaceful, relaxing space to enjoy the cooler parts of the day. We had a delightful stay and were very sorry to leave. We highly recommend this property, owner and local guardienne - without hesitation - and would stay here again whenever the opportunity comes our way. If you’re lucky enough to find this property available, stop looking and snap it up immediately!

A thoroughly enjoyable French vacation
We wanted to experience small-town living in France and did not regret our decision to stay in Uzès. Happily, we discovered this rental, which was just about perfect. It provided an ideal location from which to visit this small city noted for its ancient limestone buildings and its bustling markets, and to travel without a car to the surrounding areas. The apartment was lovely, clean, well appointed, and comfortable, and Catherine, the owner, and Anette, the apartment manager, could not have been lovelier people to deal with. I would definitely recommend this rental and the city itself to anyone interested in getting a taste of southern France.

We loved every minute in Cath's "artful apartment"!
This charming home is even better than the colorful photos! The art just kept surprising us while we enjoyed cooking, relaxing, entertaining on the patio and making plans for all our local adventures. We have stayed in the area many times in the past and this year decided to stay IN Uzes to walk the twisting streets (get lost, even), enjoy both markets on Saturday and Wednesday, try different boulangeries and restaurants and then enjoy walking down the stone tiles of rue Grand Bourgade to "home" at # 34.
We will never forget these accommodations--the artistic touch everywhere, the well supplied kitchen, imaginative decor and a great place to relax. We wish we could come every year. 3 friends from Iowa and California.

Perfect Hidden Paradise
A beautifully decorated, light and bright apartment in an old french stone building in a pedestrian street with easy access to all that Uzes has to offer. A large, private terrace makes summer living very relaxing and enjoyable so too a multitude of useful information about the apartment and Uzes provided by the owner. You couldn't want for more!

Everything that is gorgeous about Southern France
I just couldn’t wipe the smile off my face! Uzes, the town was far beyond expectation. Architecture, atmosphere as was the apartment. So beautiful, colourful and light, it spoilt us for the
rest of our trip. I completely fell in love with Southern France and am already dreaming of our next trip. The markets were amazing, beautiful, and gorgeous - so authentic and so French! The cafes, shops everything about it, the butchers, coffee, goat’s cheese,
bread…We even had a picnic down by the river which was so quiet and pretty. Uzes had everything I could want and the apartment was superb - light, spacious, creatively put together and functional. Sasha, the gardienne, warm, friendly and helpful. - A delight.
All correspondence with the owner was helpful, considerate and lovely! Can’t wait to come back! Just don’t tell everyone!

You will have a relaxing time in this apartment
The photos do not do this apartment justice; it is huge with two bedrooms, a sociable kitchen area, plenty of relaxing seating both inside and out. The addition of the huge terrace was very welcoming; relaxing over a glass of wine as the sun went down was a highlight. The street is a tiny, cobbled street where your neighbours will greet you each day and minutes from Place des Herbes which is where lots of the cafes and restaurants are.
The location is perfect. If you like walking, there are plenty of long and short walks around the town with the opportunity for regular stops to enjoy the views or people watch with coffee breaks. Also longer hikes to nearby places of interest are easily accessible. Whilst we were there we visited Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nimes and Montpellier, all easy to get to.
Cath was very easy to deal with and responded quickly to any queries we had, the apartment was spotless, well maintained and spacious. There is a folder with tons of local information, which is up to date. She responded by email and text promptly during the booking process and beyond.
There are an abundance of cafes and restaurants offering different types of food as well as typical French food. We enjoyed many of them. We also spent a session at Pistou Cookery School, great fun and came away having learnt new skills and made some new friends. This is a must do activity as Petra can give you many hints and tips on the area
There are two weekly markets, apparently the largest in the Provence. They take over Uzes and it is fun to watch and purchase local items such as cheese, meats, and pottery but you can buy anything!
In summary, Caths' apartment is a great place to recharge your batteries, it’s spacious, comfortable, historic and in a one of the best locations to make the most of your holiday in an historic town.

What's not to like !!!!!!
We, three adults, spent 10 nights in Catherine's lovely flat so well located on a pedestrian street near the Place aux Herbes. The pictures on the site are accurate, we loved the openness of the apartment and the outdoor area. We would have no problem recommending it to anyone . Catherine is very easy to deal with, we had a most enjoyable time in charming Uzes.

Superb centrally-located Uzes apartment
Staying in Uzes in this superb centrally-located apartment was a real pleasure. Particularly enjoyable was sitting out on the terrace, with its plants and the surrounding trees (and the absence of traffic noise) was . The conservatory area was ideal for sitting and reading. The apartment was clean, well maintained and well-equipped - and it fully lived up to its advertised description.

Great stay in Uzès
We had a wonderful week in Uzès. The flat is situated within the medieval city wall with picturesque small houses and streets. On Saturdays and Wednesdays there is a big market held in Uzès one shoud definitely visit. But the city is very busy on that days. From Uzès we made various excursions to Avignon, Nimes, Arles oder Pont du Gard - wehre you can swim or rent a cajac for a tour along the Gardon. All in all we enjoyed our time there a lot.
The flat is great, beautifully furnished and quiet so the tree of us – two adults, one child - enjoyed staying there. Beds were not to hard – what they usually are in others lodgings - the kitchen equipment was very good. On the nice terrace we enjoyed our breakfast or meals.
We already recommended it to friends.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of thriving town
My husband and I stayed here for the second week of our honeymoon. From the beginning Catherine was very helpful and responded to emails and queries quickly. This made us feel much more relaxed (we haven't done this type of holiday before) and confident that we were on to a winner!
When we arrived we were met by Sasha who lives locally and showed us around the apartment and also offered us some advise on good restaurants and things to do in the area. Our first impressions of the apartment were that it surpassed our expectations. It is very spacious and a family of 4 would fit in with plenty of space to spare. The apartment itself is a stones throw from the town centre; having said that we didn't hear any noise at night or out on the terrace in the evenings (and we went during the local fete!). At the top of the street there is an excellent boulangerie and a lovely Italian restaurant frequented by the locals.
There are plenty of things to keep you occupied in the local area and in the town itself. I have never seen a market quite like the one held in Uzes on a Saturday morning! We left laden with local goodies including local honey and wine. I would advise having a car (we pre-booked a hire care from Europcar at Avignon TGV) if you want to go further afield. Nimes is an easy place to get to, as are lots of other local towns and areas of interest (e.g. Pont du Gard). We had a good old fashioned map and only got slightly lost once or twice (when I was too busy taking in the view!).
Overall, we had a lovely time in beautiful Uzes and would definitely visit the area again. We would also stay in this apartment again and have already recommended it to friends and family.

Delightful and elegant flat in a beautiful town
We hired a car at Nimes Airport and found the drive to Uzes an easy one. We were discovered the flat, tucked away in a little street leading into the city centre. It is beautifully furnished and really has everything we needed for comfort, though the restaurants were so good that we did not use the cooking equipment much, though there are food shops nearby. There is a sunny terrace overlooking gardens where we had breakfast. Uzes was a delight. A beautifully restored medieval hill town with a fine castle. Below the city walls there are wonderful walks along the river that supplied the great Roman aqueduct that can still be viewed at the nearby Pont du Gard. There is a pleasant local swimming pool, but swimming is also available on sandy spots along the river.

Lovely apartment, great location.
I stayed here with a few friends. The apartment is lovely, really spacious and there are lots of different areas to relax. It is in great condition; clean and well maintained.
The location is great, just a short walk to the bars and restaurants. The apartment is very quiet and peaceful.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.
Thank you!

Great Apartment, Beautiful Town
Ours was a short Winter break, flying into and from Nimes, an attractive 40 minutes from Uzes. It's a beautiful location, cafes, restaurants, bars within a few minutes walk and a wide range of small shops totally in keeping with the history of the town. There is a vibrant street market every Saturday.
The apartment is just as described, spacious, clean, warm and comfortable and furnished with creative, modern taste.
A thoroughly enjoyable visit.
