The Broads is well known for its’ fishing activity – you should expect to find perch, pike, bream, rudd, eel and tench in the waters here. Within a couple of minutes walk from each property, it is easy to hire a boat by the hour, half day, day or longer. If you fancy a boat trip but without you being the Captain, there are a number of organised boat trips which leave from the centre of Wroxham or from nearby Horning.

Brilliant vacation. Property was perfect! Homely and very clean with everything we needed and more. It was nice to have the welcome pack emailed before the vacation. Very friendly owners who respond very quickly. It was the corner property and the deck was large and my fav part to chill on or sit and watch the water from the living room. Views were really beautiful. Very close to shops and a few eateries and pubs. Everyone we met was really friendly and the atmosphere the whole weekend was great. It was a perfect getaway, I’ve never felt so relaxed and chilled. I wished I could have booked a longer visit and will definitely be looking to book again. Highly recommended to friends and family. Really was a perfect staycation, more than happy!

Comfortable property
Property was in a good location being a few minutes walk from the centre. Kitchen well supplied.
Only disappointment being the lack of recycling bin. We had to travel to a village hall to take ours.

Our party of 4, including 2 teens stayed here for half term. We chose Kingfisher’s Lure for the location and were not disappointed: easy access to town and direct waterfront access – lovely to just sit and watch the water. Although we took our inflatable kayak, we were pleased with the dinghy provided as it was warmer. My husband and I went out in it (in our thermals with a flask!) every morning and away from the motorized craft, even saw an otter on the riverbank. The house met our requirements but is small and yes, creaky and a little unloved – slipped photos in frames, mismatched crockery, only one toilet roll for 4 people for a week! We were greeted with a corner pile of sweepings, that maybe the cleaner forgot to pick up, easily remedied but suggesting to me that the floor had not been washed. We had taken wipes and would have cleaned for ourselves when we arrived anyway, as we were travelling just prior to the second lockdown. With 4 of us we would probably book next door, which has an extra bathroom, if we returned; or even book both cottages and visit with friends. Paul was a wonderful host and reacted extremely well when we accidently overstayed – clearly, we relaxed too well! All said, a successful break in a lovely position, with accommodating owners, which we were very lucky to get in just in time. Thank you, Paul.

The property was fine, but smaller than we thought.
Due to the recent weather we found the house was cold where it faced the water.

Kingfisher Lure midweek break
Us four had a great time living by the river for four nights, my partner our 14 yr old son and 8 year old daughter loved being so close to Wroxham (as always!) and for us who all like to fish, being so close to the river as this house is, is a must for us and yes the fishing was good.
Only slight criticisms, for us a larger more modern tv (with a remote that worked) wouldn’t of gone a miss, for the times when the weather may not be so great or in the evening times. The woodwork on the outside decking needs some TLC, looks rough but potentially dangerous. The crazily creaky headboards in the twin room, and creaky doors, just a bit of tlc again. Generally nice and clean, although the wardrobe in the master room hadn’t been dusted on top of for a long time! Over all, a nearly perfect two bed holiday home on the broads for a family of four like us, loved it! I must add, the owner kindly contacted us the day we left to say that a silver ring had been found, which we hadn’t even realised yet had gone missing,! Paul got it sent back to us promptly, thank you Paul.

Kingfisher 2, Hoveton
We enjoyed the location. Secluded, but within easy reach of local facilities.
Residence suited our needs well.
Kitchen was well equipped, although washing machine was not working. We were advised of this prior to our arrival. Such is life.
Patio doors opening onto broads was a pleasant attribute.
Single bed mattress's were uncomfortable.
We could not find any indication, prior to booking, that there was room for only one car. Fortunately, the accommodation next door was vacant so we were able to use that space, without causing inconvenience to other residents. Alternative parking on road, away from the residence would not have been desirable.
