We were so delighted with this beautiful gem of a house. The location and views were unbeatable - many a happy hour spent beach and sea watching from the bird’s eye view… just 2 minutes from the beach. The house was friendly, clean and comfortable - with everything we wanted. Thank you to the host, Simon, for answering our questions and being so helpful. A lovely break before our kids start uni.

We had the best time at Thalassa! The house is adorable and conveniently situated just above the spectacular beach at Sennen Cove. The water was crystal clear, turquoise and azure like you might expect in the Agean Sea. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather and enjoyed a delightful walk along the South Coast Path which is just a short walk from the house. In the evenings, the two seater glass porch above the ocean was the perfect spot to take in the sunsets. The house is cute and comfortable, but be prepared for a little funkiness in terms of limited hot water, an outdoor freezer, and no WiFi. However, we loved it to pieces and will certainly be back in future years. The location is unbeatable, and if you’re looking for a beautiful Cornish beach vacation, this is it!

Thalassa provided such a happy haven for a lovely family holiday in Sennen. The house was perfect , providing everything we could need and had such a personal feel to it. The location is ideal being so close to the cove and beach which made it particularly easy for us with small children. We loved Thalassa so much - we hope to be back!

So pleased Thalassa was available, just our thing.
Felt like we were staying at a kindly relative's house rather than your standard slick rental (in a good way).
Walked, feasted locally, played board games. So busy in the day and so tired at night that teenagers didn't complain about lack of wifi, fantastic! Mobile signal was excellent.
Thank you Simon for being so very flexible to our needs (moving dates around) you are a great host.

The cottage is in a brilliant place, a few yards up the hill from Sennen beach. It has everything you need and a slightly old world charm. The private parking place is a real bonus. We will definitely book again!

Just what we were looking for! The view and location of the property were perfect. The home was cute and cozy, but needed a few amenities that we didn't know we would need to bring ourselves. TV would never operate well for us, but we weren't in a lot to need it. We couldn't get the dishwasher to turn on. Owner was very good to answer emails and help with our stay. Would most definitely recommend this property and would love to stay there again ourselves.

Absolutely brilliant holiday cottage for making the most of the gorgeous Sennen Cove. Stunning views from every window. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the sunsets. Communication with property manager was really helpful and good covid hygiene processes. Will definitely book again. Thank you!

This was quite simply an amazing location and place to stay. The views alone were worth every bit of it. Thalassa itself is a gorgeous property, comfortable and ideally situated for walking along the coast. My only problem was working out how to use the heating but thats on me not the owners. Honestly, if I could give more than 5 stars I would do so and I have every intention of looking at staying again sometime.

We had a wonderful few days staying in Thalassa. Stunning views, everything comfortable and functional and well placed for coastal footpath walks, beach trips and exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall.

We had a very nice week at Thalassa in Sennen .
The house is well equipped and in an excellent location with stunning views which are a joy to wake up to and also to take in the sunset of an evening .
I would take issue with previous reviews that describe the house as being in a poor state .
It is a period property and whilst it could be updated this would probably rob it of some of its charm .
Steps up from the road are steep and parking is a little tricky till one gets used to it .
Would not hesitate to recommend .

Where to start with this review? Firstly the location could not be better, right on the road down to the sea, the views are unbelievable, from every window. Parking is really convenient because then you dont need to pay in the car park down below.
The cottage is a 1920s house with a great layout, good spacious rooms, it feels solid and traditional. It feels 'nice'. Its the sort of house I imagined when I used to read the famous 5 when they all had to recuperate for months on end from some sniffle or cold they had.
But, the house is severely neglected. The carpets are thread bare, the floor boards are loose upstairs and actually show through the carpet (you can see the outline of them).
The bath has horrible black marks in them and there is an awful stick on thing on them (to prevent you slipping) which means it cant (and hasnt) been cleaned properly. There is no shower attachment to the bath taps which means you cant even give it a sluise down. The shower itself is ok, its electric but the shower curtain is one of those fabric ones which means that it clings to you and as I wasnt sure of the cleanliness this made me feel ill.
The fixtures and fittings around the house are ok, clean, adquate, furniture nice and comfy but such a lack of care. A window in the kitchen was obviously done up at some point and looks as if it was patched up with lumpy putty and just left like it, no finishing off.
Having said all that, the house just feels nice and the location is fab, so would we probably stay again, possibly if we were that way, but actually it made us both very cross that the house is treated this way, I felt sorry for it. There are 2 'conservatory' rooms which again, need attention and could be fantastic, all the double glazing in one is misted up obscuring those lovely views and the other is at the entrance where the flooring and windows need replacing.
Even things like where the skirting and picture rails have been marked with wall paint, just scruffy for no reason. I would never treat a property in such a manner.

Perfect location for a beachside break. The house really has everything you could possibly need for a home from home and is a five minute walk from the beach and coast path. The owners have thought of everything and have provided a helpful information pack along with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits to get you started. The owner is clear that there is no wifi but 4G phone reception was fine in the house. The sea views from the house are wonderful and offer a cosy way to relax with a glass of something in hand, after a day of walking the coast path.

Great holiday. Cottage is slightly dilapidated but extremely comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed for a memorable week. The views and location are fantastic. Highly recommended.
