Fantastic home! Great location!
We had such an amazing time staying at this beautiful home in Alphabet City! House was clean and staff incredibly helpful. Martin was a delightful host and answered all our questions before and during our stay. We will book again ! Thank you, Martin!!

The best stay ever!
I love Martin the owner! I have rented several properties on homeaway.com, and this is by far the best home we ever rented! The house is clean, Modern, and every room is just amazing! The layout is perfect for groups, and its a great place for families! The design, the location, the owner, and the Kitchen is everything you could want in the perfect NYC stay!

Wonderful property in a fun neighborhood
The townhouse offered more than enough room and luxurious comforts for our group of four. Although we ate pretty much every meal out (there are many good walking-distance dining options nearby), the kitchen provides plenty of prep and spread-out space. Baths are first rate and beds very comfortable. We enjoyed the neighborhood, which provided lots to see while walking around, but was calm and peaceful in the evenings. Martin, Anton, and Rosa were a pleasure to work with; we’d gladly return!

Martin and Anton both were easy to work with- the house was great for our group of 10. The location was great, a little far from subway station but not bad at all (10-15 min walk). We have stayed in midtown but wanted a neighborhood feel and this was exactly that. We felt safe with teenage girls walking around alone. Great restaurants in the area. Overall this provided us a great “home base” for our time in NYC. If you are looking at this property- JUST DO IT!

This property was perfect! It was well decorated but yet had a very comfortable homey feel about it

Stunning home!!!
Gorgeous home, even more dramatic than in the photos. Apartment was immaculate and very spacious. Quiet in bedrooms at night and comfortable bedding. Bathrooms were large and well stocked and had good water pressure. The hot tub worked well. Used office as fourth bedroom which was very comfortable and quiet. Hosted mother’s 79th birthday – kitchen/dinning level is incredible - great party space. The caretaker was very helpful. Highly recommend, can’t say enough about this place and looking forward to coming back!

The house fulfilled our requirements but not our expectations. 31/2 stars
The house has only 2 bathrooms and if you have guests staying in the 4 “bedrooms”. Then one guest has no bathroom. If that guest is staying in the converted office bedroom, they must go down 20 steps (& up), each time for the toilets. The house also has steep staircases that were a challenge for our elderly guests.
On the other hand it’s an amazing house for entertaining. The first floor is very special and we loved the kitchen & diningroom areas.
The house is very much “smart electric”, which made heating specific areas more difficult, and many of the appliances constantly beeped. We told the care taker about problems w the refrigerators, dishwashers & some appliances.
The care taker Anton was very helpful is solving many of our problems.
Overall, our objective was to spend time together as a family and we fulfilled that objective.

FANTASTIC STAY !
It's the 2nd time that we're staying at the Martin's house. After spending 2 weeks in winter, we have been enjoying the house in summertime. GREAT GREAT TIME !!! The place is always so nice and easy to live. Everything is organized and controled by Martin who is a perfect host. The area getting more and more nice and I would say "up to date...". Aïda is running the house very nicely and helping a lot running well the house and making our stay confortable.
No doubt that we will come back, as soon as we can. Thank you Martin, Thank you Aïda.

Good value in a great fun neighborhood.
Unique designer home with beautiful contemporary light fixtures and furnishings. Also, nice outdoor spaces and large kitchen. The neighborhood is fun and the home is on a quiet street. The owner and his staff were easy to communicate with and responded promptly to all questions and requests. Home was very clean, bedding was comfortable and our family had a lovely stay. It’s a good value for such a large apartment. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Stay with Families!
The location is good, with grocery store, cafe and restaurants nearby. It's also close to one of my favourite shopping spot in NY_ soho.
The kitchen has everything more than you can think of; Rooms are big and clean; Each floor has balconies.
But thanks again, it is a very very great place to live!

Memorable wedding
Martin was a very gracious and helpful host. The house was everything we thought it would be and more. We had a very intimate wedding ceremony and reception in this incredible former synagogue. We are already planning to rent for our 10 year wedding anniversary. If you are looking for an unforgettable NYC experience you will not be disappointed.

A perfect New York wedding
This place is beautiful from street entry to rooftop terrace. It was absolutely perfect for my intimate 20 person wedding. Our ceremony was under the exquisite tall Windows and our procession down the glass encased stairway. Catering was right at the full 12 person dining table and bar and appetizers in the modern elegantly lit kitchen. Literal perfection. Plenty of rooms to get ready. A massive closet in the master to hold all of my and my girlfriends dresses while we got ready. Plenty of bathrooms and an unheard of amount of outdoor space. After wedding party in the gorgeous hot tub and drinks on the terrace. A comfortable sleep in the clean comfortable bed with fresh linens and towels. It was a dream.... But the best part: Martin. Martin, the owner, was so accommodating, helpful, kind, and reliable. I would recommend this space to any and everyone for an event or a getaway. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Convenient location, and great water pressure ;)
We thoroughly enjoyed our long stay here at Martin's. There's plenty of space and my favorite places are the master bathroom, the jacuzzi and the living room. But that's only because we didn't stay even longer to enjoy the super beautiful terrace on the very top. The master bath has great water pressure and 3 showerheads (yes 3!!) -- and this is really important to me. A low water pressure just ruins everything in my book, lol... The jacuzzi was outdoor and is truly a luxury to be able to hang out in it in the evening.
The location is unbeatable; very close to restaurants and cafes that we like. The surrounding area feels safe as well.
There was Laura who is available through text/call in case anything goes wrong or if we needed something, so that was very helpful and appreciated.
The airbeds -- they turned out to be much more comfortable than we expected! There were also washer and dryer that were working properly and we utilized them. The AC was working properly as well so that's great for summer! Lots of sun through the whole unit. It's also very quiet if the windows are shut. The unit wasn't that clean on the first day, but we had a housekeeper come and Voila - good as new. There weren't any pests (yes we've seen rodent and roaches in other luxury rentals...); just ants so put those sugary stuff in the fridge!
The next time we would love to know how to use the TVs and microwave! :)

Incredible East Village get away
We visit New York on a regular basis and usually stay in mid town. But we were looking for more of a neighborhood, for our Xmas visit and fell in love with this Shul turned into a magnificent home, which provided a large and interesting space to spend a week in. The owner has done an incredible job of renovating this space in the heart of the East Village. The house is beautifully maintained, and the pictures on the site do not do it justice. The kitchen is very well equipped and huge, and easy to cook in, and the dining room is vast. The beds are very comfortable. The house easily sleeps 7-8. Victoria, who manages the property, was extremely helpful and always accessible. The neighborhood is great - wonderful restaurants (all the recommendations were delicious and friendly - Lavagna , and Mogador especially), great little parks, interesting stores. We were visiting with a 7 year old who loved the neighborhood. We would definitely recommend this place and are already planning our next trip.

WOW! this place is sublime.
Tucked away on a quiet side street just half a block from the East Village excitement and Tompkins Sq Park. This was the nicest place we have ever stayed and its location is nothing short of fantastic. (The East Village is more glam than grit these days) Unlike the noise and density of the other parts of the city, we slept in comfort and quiet with the windows opened on a cool fall night. The modern conversion of this former synagogue into a spacious home reminded me of the Mandarin Oriental in Prague. Everything is sleek and comfortable yet you can see the evidence of its former life. This place is dialed in for entertaining with its huge kitchen and dining space overlooking one of many balconies. We had a dinner party for 15 and it was the highlight of the trip. The only bad thing about this house is you may be tempted to stay in and not see the city! When you do you can walk to so many great places to dine and shop. Short walks to Soho or Union Square or the West Village. After a day of hustle and bustle in the city it was always great to return here to the rooftop hot tub. There is person available to help or assist with everything as well, which was super convenient. We will be back!

Magnificent Find in the East Village
I needed a place to stay that would achieve some business and social needs, and this was the perfect spot.
Check in and settling in was a breeze. The woman who greeted me was friendly and gracious. I could quickly and easily get work done, pop out for errands or coffee, or have friends over for dinner. It met all my expectations and needs for my stay in NYC.
Also, it's a stunning property. Totally simple and chic. Elite living all the way. Everywhere you walked through the house there were gorgeous touches. The amount of outdoor space was amazing and actually shocking, not something you'd expect for city living. The size of the kitchen wasn't only large enough to prepare a meal for a group, but a social space as well. Made the dinner party even more fun.
Thanks for the great stay, will be back.

Fantastic Find!
Okay, so this ultra-luxury shul is now my favorite place to stay in all
of New York.
It's spectacular! Stylish and airy, this place is massive - with floor
after floor of gorgeous and roomy quarters.
Who knew this even existed in the East Village? Or all of New York?
Totally unique.
I lived in the area in the 90s and it is such a treat to be able to
return to the historic, funky neighborhood and stay in 5-star
accommodations. Tompkins Square Park is right there, and Soho, West Village, Union Square and much more are walking distance for us.
The kitchen is fantastic - state-of-the-art and perfect for large dinner
parties - where else in the city is that possible?
The rooftop hot tub was so relaxing and a must after walking around town.
The beds were super comfortable. It really felt homey, like sleeping in
my own bed.
Giant, and I mean GIANT, windows bathe the main living area with
beautiful natural light.
There are also really sweet outside areas to eat, read, meditate or hang out. That is so rare in the city.
Lastly, the bathrooms are all really pretty tile. You could get lost in
the master bath.
No scrimping on any details here.
It was really fun and I'll be back. Highly recommended.
Dare I say, "Religious experience?"
