We had a super holiday at this superb chalet in Val d'Isere. It's very spacious and brilliantly laid out. On the ground floor there is a large living area with dining table and separate sofa area, along with a small but very well equipped open plan kitchen. On the upper floor are 3 double bedrooms, all with their own en suite showers and 2 with en suite loos. There is also a bathroom with bath, separate loo and the washing machine and drier are in the bathroom. Brilliantly, there is also a basement with a small but cosy seating area as well as a big double room and en suite bathroom. Our daughter was revising for GCSEs so loved being able to have this area to herself so that she could lay out her work and revise, and then have a her room. This is a great area for teenagers to chill out, or could work as a playroom for younger kids.
In terms of location, it's in the Chatelard area. You can ski to the chalet down the Santons piste, though that's quite a difficult run and can often be closed. You can also ski straight to the Rond Point des Pistes along a flat route that is the end of Santons However, it's also on the yellow bus route, which goes every 15-20 minutes and honestly, we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for it. The buses run all evening. While not central, we found the chalet to be very conveniently positioned. If you want to walk in to the town, it's only 10 minutes. There is also parking at the chalet.
We are planning to go back!

The property was as advertised and plenty large enough for the eight of us (5 adults and 3 children) The equipment available was extensive and we lacked for nothing in the cooking and kitchen departments
The accommodation was well laid out and suited us well. The heating was very effective but has some air that should be removed to avoid the intermittent ‘knocking’ which could be stopped with minor adjustment to one of the radiator settings. A very minor glitch easily fixed once one works out what to do.
A very short walk to the piste into Val d’Isere and the possibility for confident skiers to return directly to Le Chatelard complex made for an even more enjoyable stay. With less snow the alternative Train Jaune bus service was regular and reliable.
All in all a good stay in a comfortable chalet.

Nicely decorated and furnished, good sized bedrooms, well equipped kitchen. Note there is no iPod dock/speakers so take your own! Plenty of space for two families or 8 adults. 3 of the bedrooms are shower en-suite, the fourth has a basin and shower in the room with a separate toilet and a further bathroom with a full sized bath. There is plenty of hot water, although there was none on arrival and the fridges hadn’t been switched on, but this was easily resolved. The chalet is in a small development and part of a row of 8 or so terraced chalets, each with a sunny deck outside. It’s a nice setting, very quiet and private. The development is near car park 7 and on the yellow bus route. The buses run until about 830pm, but it’s only ⅔ mile to walk into the centre. The chalet is almost ski in ski out - better than the majority of accommodation in Val with only a 100m walk to the piste. Santons will bring you back, or you can take the short drop off of the corner of piste M if you’re confident on reds.
We had a small problem after I contacted the owner to report a shower leak on the last day, and he deducted the plumbers call out fee from our deposit, saying the leak was due to the shower doors being left open (they weren’t!) However, after contacting HomeAway customer services, we have had our full deposit returned. We’d stay again despite this.

"Chalet is very nice and well equipped. Heating works well and house is clean. It looks larger on the photos than it is in reality but it will fit 6-8 people well.
Location is very good - 200 m to slopes and possibility to return with skis back from the mountains. Chalet is not very far from center and it''s possible to use skibus or private car - parking is on the front of the house."
