The Lodge was really warm & cozy and in a quiet environment, perfect for when you just need a break away. Best part is that we could take our dog with to enjoy our break with us.
Wayne was very polite and welcoming, will definitely add this to my list of places to re-visit.

From the moment we walked in the fire was roaring and felt so cosy and warm, plenty of room for all of us (9 of us, with children ranging from 17-3) with lots of extra blankets and everything we needed. Will definitely book again.

We stayed 2 nights in August. Excellent communication with owner. Great large living area with cost wood fire that was going when we arrived.
Impressed with owner collecting our recycling rubbish, too. Well equipped kitchen. Electric blankets in all beds.
Loud trains at night x2-4 but only lasted a few seconds.
Definitely would recommend this place.

Wayne was very welcoming and the lodge is unique with its impressive timber features. Although a little tired and unkempt it's a great place to stay for a group. One lovely bathroom and one very tired bathroom.

Dog friendly
The house itself was very nice, well appointed, clean. The stove was ok but could do with an overhaul. The surrounds were interesting and a bit if a surprise - lots of ancient machinery scattered around the fields and sheds, that were interesting to explore. Very handy to Turoa. Also pretty relaxed about our dog, which makes a nice change, compared to most bookabach places where managers/owners get a bit paranoid about pets.

A cabin in the snow
We all really enjoyed the stay. The property was great. It snowed while we were there so staying in a wooden cabin made the experience even more memorable. 5 bedrooms so enough space for 2 families. Close to town. Wayne was really helpful & a great host. Would definitely stay again.

Great location for a group ski holiday, but needs some work
Very unique property, large house to suit a big group in a very convenient location for accessing the mountain. Very easy to book and deal with manager, so lovely to have the fire lit when we arrived.
Surrounding property was a bit run down and the house needed a good clean - lots of cobwebs and the toilet seat was broken and one of the electric blankets wasn’t working.
We had an enjoyable stay.

A lovely hideaway
We had a winter escape at Wayne's lovely property. While it wasn't in walking distance from the town, it was secluded, quiet and private. The house itself was large and well set-out and there was heaps of parking. We had a great time.

Warm and spacious.
Fantastic location as it was quiet (apart from the odd train) and interesting as well as being close enough to cycle to town. Kids loved it - great fire, has everything you need and plenty of wood for the amazing woodburner!

A great property
A great property. Friendly host - fire lit before we arrived and lights on. Superb location for the snow - 5 mins to bottom of the mountain road. Lots of space and a massive lounge with plenty of seating for 10 plus! Only slight downer was some of the view of the mountain was obscured by trees - get your chainsaw out Wayne!
