Location was great being on outskirts of the city centre which was easily accessible by foot. Also made it accessible to the outer interests and parks.
Room size was of generous proportions.
Kettle and coffee machine with coffee sugar tea etc was supplied along with cutlery and crockery for two.
Small floor/desk fan was appreciated for the rather hot days as the room faces west with large windows.
It was clean and had upgrades to the shower.
Instructions to access the property and ‘self checkin’ were easy to understand, and the supplied pincode to access the property was simple to use.
I felt like I was in the middle of student accommodation. No particular problem with that but it’s good to know.
Not specifically a problem with the B&B but the Friday night I had a group of gentlemen outside talking loudly until 1am. I don’t know if this was a once off or not. The host advised he would have done something about it when we exchanged WhatsApp texts after I’d checked out. I did not feel it was appropriate to contact the host after 11pm for a noise problem that was unrelated to him. Good to know he would be willing to assist.
I did not use the balcony. It is quite exposed. I felt uncomfortable sitting there as there is a house opposite with a veranda with a large table and number of chairs where i saw a person(s) (makes) sitting / smoking which per se I have no issue with but the chairs directly faced the balcony and main window to the bedroom. I kept the curtains closed most of the time I was there. Considering I was out most of the time I found when I was there it was often enough not to use the balcony.
It’s essentially a room in the upstairs section of a row house. I believe there are two bedrooms to be able to be occupied by b&b guests.
I would not describe where I stayed as an apartment. I cannot comment on the second room or facilities it has. An option was offered as an apartment which I paid the extra for. I did not expect the toilet needed to be accessed from the landing, outside the bedroom and shower room. The “bathroom” had a shower and vanity and was accessible from the bedroom. I would call it more of a shower room than a bathroom as there is no toilet in it. I suspect the ‘apartment’ option meant that there would not be a second room occupied at the same time. I still had to get dressed to go to the toilet as I wasn’t willing to do so in my PJ’s and I did not take a dressing gown with me! There was no kitchenette nor lounge room area which I would expect in an apartment.

The host went out of his way on numerous occasions to make sure we were comfortable and cared for. Wonderful host with a beautiful and centrally located properly.

Good old house with the spirit of the place. Everything is working. Good location.
Entire house smells like an army of soldiers were smoking there non-stop for several years. Everything smells cigarette smoke. ☹️

Beautiful house, lovely high ceilings, close to the station.
It was pretty cold, but once you’re in bed you’ll warm up anyway.

Incredibly friendly and helpful owner. Great car parking. Beds very comfortable. Antique items in the bedrooms. Massive bathroom.
Very dark downstairs. In effect you are sharing the owners house so it doesn’t feel private.

This place is amazing. I love it. Definitely worth the money. I'm gland I found it and lived here for some days.
