About this bed and breakfast
The Chessie Room B and B is located in the old train station in downtown Huntington. It occupies the entire second floor of the old Huntington Bank Building purportedly robbed by the Jessie James gang in 1874. The decor is a nod to Huntington's railroad heritage and feels like home but does not lack any modern convenience. It is within walking distances of many of Huntington's finest restaurants and night spots.

This is a beautiful little property very conveniently placed downtown! I was worried that there might be a lot of noise from how close it was it a main road but it was extremely peaceful.

This is the cutest, quaint stay. The little historical touches are such a nice touch. Everything is immaculate. The fireplace was so cozy. It’s private & charming. I love Butter it Up & getting gift cards to there for breakfast is amazing. I’d absolutely stay again!

The room was clean and cozy. From the beautiful windows that look down on the train and visitors center, to the theme, it’s an adorable room. The host was quick to respond to anything we needed.
With that being said, the location wasn’t what I expected. Yes this is a very walkable area… but be aware of your surroundings. We encountered a lot of homeless people and aggressive panhandlers. This is not anything the host can control. You just need to be careful and probably drive wherever you are going. It did seem to be a very LGBTQ+ friendly area though. These are just some things to keep in mind, that I wish I would have been better prepared for our trip.

Amazing property in the heart of downtown
All the hotels downtown were booked and I had a reunion at Marshall University this weekend. We found this delightful (an understatement) VRBO property in the heart of downtown. We were able to walk or take a short drive to all of the events. This property really made the weekend special. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back soon.

Beautiful Sun-filled Historic Apartment
We had a wonderful stay in this historic apartment set into a historic train depot area where there was shopping, yoga, and restaurants right outside the building. The place was spotless and cozy with large windows (and curtains & blinds). The decor was thought out and of the era while being light and airy. There is a kitchenette-style room and a dreamy claw foot tub in the bathroom. There is parking right outside and a private patio near beautiful old trains before you climb outdoor stairs to a keypad entry. We walked around town and there is plenty to do and places to eat and drink. The spare bed in the pull-out couch wasn’t the comfiest, but that’s kind of expected with a couch bed. We stayed only one night, so it wasn’t a problem. The great thing was the owner had it set up and made when we got there so that we didn’t have to fool with it. We had such a great stay and appreciate how much intention goes into this vrbo!

Anniversary trip
We had a great and relaxing trip for our anniversary. We loved that it had 2 comfortable chairs that we sit in to watch TV in front of a beautiful fireplace with an electric insert.

Charming room
We like that it is such a unique property. A second floor, single apartment, over a retail business in a former train station right next to a locomotive! The train station has been converted into new retail establishments. It’s across from a park on the Ohio River and not too far a walk from the downtown area. Parking directions were unclear, but the host was immediately accessible for clarification. Lots of sweet details in the Chessie Room, including a claw foot tub (which one may or may not like). We appreciated the coffee and refrigerator. Breakfast not on sight, but offered at a nearby establishment.

Quaint and quiet place
The apartment was clean and quaint and decorated in the spirit of the era but had the accommodating updates needed for today (coffee station ;)) Great host! Stephen was easily accessed for questions support getting to the home. He checked in by phone later that day to see if all was well and if we had questions and again called the day we checked out to give thanks for staying.

Great charming place
We really enjoyed the Chessie Room. Heritage square had food, shopping and a work out studio. It was just blocks from everything downtown and also very close to campus. We enjoyed being so close to the river as well. Stephen was nice and communicated well. There was an issue with the plumbing and he got with us right away. They fixed it while we were out to eat. Overall great place, we would definitely come back!

This a very clean and nicely appointed suite in a nice part of Huntington.
Great place to stay. If we travel that way again, we would for sure return. The fact that the building and area are historic and the building is next door to some moth-balled but museum-worthy locomotives and an unusually nice visitor center is a plus. Excellent place.

Girlfriend Getaway
My best friend and I stayed at the Chessie Room for two nights for a weekend away.
When we arrived, the room was very clean and welcoming. There was a bottle of wine and bottles water in the mini-fridge for us.
The location of the space is perfect. We parked our cars and walked everywhere we needed to go: dinner at Black Sheep, candle-making downstairs at Haute Eick Social, shopping at Full Circle and Pullman Square and breakfast at The Market.
The size of the room was perfect for the two of us.
I’ve been spreading the word locally how perfect the Chessie Room is for a night away or for a unique place for the family to stay when visiting the area.
A much better option than a hotel.
