About this cabin rental
****2025 "Primetime" runs June 21st through September 6th. Saturday through Saturday rentals only during primetime.*** 3-4 day minimum in off peak season. *****
A warm homey cabin in a small quiet resort located on the east shore of Big St. Germain Lake, close to downtown St. Germain, and walking distance to hiking and ATV trails. Enjoy the 1600 acre beautiful lake just footsteps away from the front door or explore local attractions then retreat back to this cozy cabin to relax with a glass of wine. Continuously updated, the cabin is devoid of taxidermied deer and squirrels, vintage signs, and Christmas lights. However, the modern rustic decor still lets you know you are in northern Wisconsin. The cabin has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with walk-in shower. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the second bedroom has two cozy twin beds. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, large subway tile, and bright morning sunshine coming through the windows. Offering maximum value, complete with limited towel service, fully stocked kitchen with cooking essentials, and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit.
The cabin is "Unit 1" located in Deer Run Resort and is independently managed to offer guests a more personalized service. The resort is safe and relaxing for families with small children, offering a beach and swing set. Other amenities include a fish house for cleaning and filleting your catch if fishing is your thing, a volleyball court, and other vacationing families to interact with! The cabin faces west and the sunsets are spectacular! Also, the property offers level frontage so there are no clumsy steps to get down to the lake. The shoreline by the resort is relatively shallow for a good 75 feet out with a sandy bottom. Also, there are three piers on the property to dock your boat. If you are interested in renting a boat let me know and I will work with an individual I know well and try to secure you one.
What you need to know:
*Daily housekeeping is not provided, the cabin is clean when you arrive and gets cleaned after you leave. You are expected to leave the cabin as per the "check-out procedure" located in the unit. If you have questions about what that entails, please ask.
*A grill and charcoal starter are provided but you will need to supply your own lighter fluid and charcoal.
* The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, air fryer, and a Pur water pitcher.
*The limited towel service includes 4 bath towels and 4 hand towels for the stay. Please bring your own kitchen towels, beach towels and even bath towels if you think you need more than 4.
*Toilet paper and paper towel are not provided. However, I always try to leave you some.
*The kitchen is equipped with glasses, wine glasses, plates, silverware, and cooking items.
*No fireworks are permitted on the grounds. Seriously, forest fires are real!
*I will supply propane for the outdoor heater. If you run out, I will get it resupplied as quickly as possible. If you want a bonfire there are fire pits on the property. You will need to stock your own wood. Please completely extinguish your fire before leaving.
*If needed during your stay, there are basic cleaning items like a Dyson cordless vacuum, cleaning products, and broom and mop located in the unit.
*Check-in is 3:00pm and Check-out is 10:00am.
*The fireplace inside the unit is decorative only. Fires are not allowed inside.

This was the perfect location for a great northwoods family getaway! We had the best time. The cabin was beautifully decorated, had everything we needed and more. Great little cabin by the lake. Very clean and modern inside. Kitchen is well-equipped with appliances and tools. Nicely located next to woods on one side and easy access to the lake for swimming, kayaking, and loon-watching. We really appreciated the use of kayaks and our daughter learned to kayak during this trip. Simple check in and check out. Dumpsters close by for easy disposal of garbage. Perfect for our family of four!

Oh my, what an amazing cozy cabin. It was the perfect getaway for my me and my wife. The cabin had everything we needed, was super clean and Corey hooked us up with a boat guy who also was awesome! I am nervous to say how great it was because I want to keep booking it for myself.

We enjoyed our stay at this property again and we will continue to do so again and again. You can't beat the location! Right in the middle of Minocqua & Eagle River, there are a host of things to do. The fires here at night are like nothing else especially being on the lake. The sunsets are magnificent and the host is always a short message away. Corey is a great communicator and host!

In our third year staying at Deer Run Resort, we opted to stay in a different cabin. Cabin one fit our family of three well! It was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. Easy to have our boat tied up, have a fire, grill out, and enjoy a game of bags on the lawn!

We relaxed at the lake and also were close to jump on the beautiful bike trail and ride to Boulder Junction and Sayner. I grew up coming to this area every year and so it is filled with memories. We also tried some new places like Clearview Supper Club for a Wisconsin fish fry and old fashioned which is about 2 miles away right in the lake.

I have stayed at several places over the years but this really was the best. It was everything that you could want- immaculate, well equipped, beautifully decorated, on the water and cozy. I have sometimes found it difficult to find a place that is not too large and this was the perfect size. I look forward to a future stay.

This cabin was perfect for two weeks of peace on the lake for my wife and me (joined briefly in the middle by her parents). The property was clean, well-maintained, thoughtfully and thoroughly appointed, and tastefully decorated. And the manager, Corey, was friendly, helpful, and communicative. We really can't say enough good about it. Enthusiastically recommend!!

Didn’t know what else to title my review other then “Excellent”. From the view of the lake we were greeted with upon arrival to the cleanliness and abundance of amenities our cabin offered, we wanted for nothing.
We have been going up to this location for years, but this was by far the best lodging experience. Already counting the days until our next visit.

The property had everything that anyone could possibly need (except for a boat). The kitchen had every type of utensil and great appliances. Very tastefully decorated and perfect location.

This place was so the perfect place to get away from life’s distractions, and spend quality time together. The place was close enough to good restaurants and things to do but you can easily not leave and have things to do all day. The kayaks are awesome, swimming off the docks was so fun, the playground and beach were great for the kids. We enjoyed many campfires with beautiful sunsets and morning coffee looking out at the beautiful lake. Having no Wi-Fi was a blessing in catching up on reading and playing games. The eagles, ducks and chipmunks were fun for us to watch as well. Thank you for a very cozy comfortable place stay for the week.

Perfect Little Lake Cabin
Corey’s charming cabin was the perfect relaxing getaway for our anniversary. Everything about the small cabin was well thought out. The bed and linens were comfortable. The towels and toiletries were very nice. The kitchen had sharp knives and everything you needed to cook a nice meal. The water pressure in the shower was good. Even the blow dryer was high quality. The cabin was immaculate, tasteful and the lake setting was beautiful.
We spent most of our time outdoors seeing the fall colors of Villas County. Restaurants and trailheads were nearby. We enjoyed launching the kayaks right from the shallow water in front of the cabin. Having the choice of propane or wood outdoor fire was a plus.

Great little place for a getaway
What a nice stay we had for a week at this property. The sunsets were exquisite and the nightly campfires were great. It was very quiet and relaxing and the amount of things in this property were great. I barely needed to bring anything. Corey was a great host and responded to my property questions promptly everytime. We will definitely return to this gem sometime soon.

Amazing location!
This is a beautiful little gem in the woods! Process and communication was great! All the special touches were very nice! The only issue we had was the bed was not very comfortable and there are only 3 chairs inside except for kitchen table. Either need a couple recliners or a couch even though room is small. Other space taken up with unnecessary items that don't help for comfort. We were outside most days and a couple nights, but when we had to be inside..not as comfortable as we would have liked. But truly loved being here! Corey was very helpful and responsive to questions.

Beautiful property which functioned well for a remote working experience. Rewarded ourselves at the end of the day with a hike on local trails or kayak workout on the lake. Corey was exceptionally helpful host. Loved the cabin & hated to leave.

Super Cabin Experience
This cabin was everything you’d dream of - cozy and with a great Northwoods vibe. The decor was beautiful and the kitchen and bath were well stocked with anything you need. Top that off with an amazing view of the lake - perfection! I hated to leave.

North woods cabin with classy attention to detail
My family and I spent a fantastic week at this lovely cabin on Big Lake St. Germain. The amenities in the cabin were top notch and everything needed for a perfect stay was provided. The decor was an impeccable fusion of “up north” and modern with lots of nice little touches. The outdoor area was wonderful as well with a corn hole set and kayaks provided along with both a propane and wood fire pits. The lot was full of mature trees for shade, flat and just steps to the lake from the cabin. All in all a 10 out of 10 experience.

Glorious getaway!
A tastefully updated cabin loaded with modern amenities in a “rustic” charm setting. The cabin has a wall of windows facing the water, perfect for viewing the gorgeous lakefront sunsets. Super pleased with all it has to offer; note that if you expect to fish, plan to go to deeper areas of the lake (the shallow shoreline extends quite far past the dock). And, although this is the end unit (next to a peaceful wildlife-filled forested area), it is also bordered on one side by a much larger unit that hosts bigger groups. So ... you never know who your “neighbors” may be: we had uninvited people, along with their dogs, showing up on the deck (just an FYI, not a knock on this unit or its wonderful owner).

Cottage is very nice. Kitchen has everything you need, beds are comfortable. Corey is awesome! When Google maps got us lost, Corey actually met us at restaurant and guided us back to the cabin. Lots of wildlife, very nice!!!!!

Lovely lakeside
Great updated cottage with modern kitchen and a lake view that goes on for miles. Windows and porch facing Big St Germain provide perfect viewing and gorgeous sunsets. We totally enjoyed our 4 night stay.

Beautifully Updated Northwoods Cabin
I rented this cabin for my parents to stay at over the Memorial Day weekend (my family stayed on the south side of the lake and my sister's family stayed on the north side). It was beautifully updated: fresh bright paint, modern furnishings, tiled bathroom, amazing lakeside windows. My dad really enjoyed the record player! It was nice having the kayaks and dock available for use. The property was spotless, maintained very well, plenty of parking space. The only small hiccup at the resort was what appeared to be a bachelor party next door and bachelorette party a few doors down; got a few chuckles from all their enthusiasm! We would definitely consider renting this cabin again. A must see inside!

Perfect Get Away
My wife and I were looking to get away and enjoy some private time together. We were looking for that “cabin in the woods” and that is what we got. The cabin was immaculate , a vase of fresh roses were on the end table and a welcome note from Corey awaited us. We even were treated to an early snow which was beautiful covering all of the surrounding pine trees. We hope to return this summer and enjoy the outdoor amenities.

Northwoods at its best
A perfect place to forget your cares for the week. This is a cozy updated cabin in a beautiful Northwoods setting. The view is to die for and the autumnal sounds and smells were warming. A personalized note, fresh roses, high quality bath products and candles were some unexpected surprises. The turntable with records and an electric guitar added some whimsy. We enjoyed the stocked kitchen and slept well on the comfortable bed. Corey was very responsive to our navigational SOS. It was truly just the location we needed for our getaway. We will be back.

Lovely outside sitting area...long dock and able to rent boat for day. Sunsets perfect. Private at end of several cabins. Good kitchen for cooking, high end linens, good shower, loved the outside fire table.
