Everything was wonderful for our Fathers' Day weekend together with our children and grandchildren. No better place to be, than the pool. The house was very accommodating for all ages, and the bedrooms gave each family their privacy. The kitchen was stocked well with seasonings and we all enjoyed cooking together while catching up. The hostess was very sweet, and couldn't ask for a nicer person. This was my first
experience with renting a VRBO, and it was a great experience. Yes, I would recomend this property.

We absolutely loved our stay in Southaven this year. We are from Desoto County and we were visiting family and meeting our new niece. It was the perfect home for our family and Easter. It was clean, we had plenty of towels, there was plenty of parking, and they communicated with us so well (and were exceptionally accommodating). Did I mention how beautiful the home was inside and out? We just loved our stay!

We had a great time in Southaven thanks to this amazing location! A quiet oasis yet close to everything we could need. Loved the house and accomodations for all were comfortable.

This house is in a great location, but needs a major update. The beds were the most uncomfortable I think I’ve slept on in any VRBO. My daughter and I shared the master and every time I turned over in the middle of the night, the bed was so loud it would wake her up.
In addition, all of the dishes and glasses and silverware are all different patterns and a mix match. The sliding glass doors are very hard to open such that kids couldn’t get in and out by themselves. One of the doors in the master (a folding closet door) literally fell off when we tried to open it.
The worst thing, however, was the pool. This is the whole reason we chose this house. When we arrived, the pool was cloudy and green. I immediately called the property manager who said it had just been cleaned that morning. There is no way it had been cleaned. It was terrible.
They did send someone out who did some chemicals and cleaned, but it took 2 full days for it to really clear up. We were only there 3 days, so it didn’t really clear up until our last night there.
What a disappointment.
If you’re looking for a fun family house, I would pay a little more money to stay someplace that has been updated and maintained better.

This home has a lot to offer; lots of room, lots of privacy, and lots of conveniently located stores, restaurants and popular Memphis tourist attractions (Graceland, National Civil Rights Museum, Peabody Hotel and Beale Street). And, there is a pool!
The home's owner, Barbara, was great to work with and was attentive to any questions we had. If you plan to visit this area, we would highly recommend this home.

Had a really amazing time at the house. Secluded with lots of space and an amazing pool. Of note to folks: we had zero problems with bugs and mosquitoes (in August)...as in didn't see or hear a single mosquito our whole trip. The only bugs that were encountered were if you lost a pool toy (oops) in the woods behind the house (cicadas). We LOVED the pool. It has a great deep end (about 8 feet) and a shallow end you can walk into. The grounds have a giant front yard that's well groomed for frisbee/catch and never heard neighbors at all. Kroger and coffee places (Central Coffee) are within a couple miles. And can't resist plugging Central BBQ (ribs and mac!), Cozy Corner (cornish hens!) and Sunrise Memphis (biscuit sandwiches!). The Civil Rights Museum is also awesome. Allow yourselves at least 2 hours. The only note to the owners would be maybe to add some more cups/glassware/etc. We actually bought silverware from Target and left it at the house for others. But seriously that was minor. Super clean house and easy check-in due to the coded door (thanks Wayne!). Highly recommend!

The house was clean and big, it met our needs. The pool was big and fun. The pool did have some trash in it including an aluminum beer cap that could have cut someone’s foot if not found. We did not appreciate having workers there two days in a row unannounced. Check in was not great as I had to call to get the digital code to unlock the door after I was told I would be called. The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. Other than those small problems, the house was great, it totally met our needs. Great location too. My family and I had a great time.

There were some hiccups in the beginning with Evolve vacation Rental. The manager and owner were wonderful. Jan was very helpful. Was 10 older ladies and there were enough comfortable seats for all of us at one time.

Not everything that we thought it would be
The house is beautiful but there are problems with this property. We stayed here in late March, early April 2019.
Everything was really great until one of the guests woke up on our second morning with welts on her face. As the day went on, welts appeared on her arms as well. We were all concerned and checked her bed, she slept in the twin bed closest to the window, there was a bug in the bed! It was not a bed bug, it looked to be in the centipede family.
We contacted the property manager, owner and Evolve. We had pictures of the bug in the bed and doctor statements that verified that she had a severe reaction to a bug bite. To date, no one has been able to identify the type of bug that was in the bed. The owners refused to take any responsibility for this issue. They did offer us a discount if we came back to the property. Thanks but no thanks!
Thank you Evolve for stepping in and assisting us during this difficult time. The guest has been through two rounds of steroids and multiple doctors visits as well as missing work. If you stay at this house, check the beds often to ensure that your loved ones are not subjected to anything like this!
It was prior to pool season so we did not expect the pool area to be immaculate however it could have used some sprucing up. The weather was nice enough for us to sit outside but the chairs were dirty, again this was the end of March.
Finally the flood lights outside were not on and we could not find the switches to turn them on. It is extremely dark around the house and many of us arrived at night and were not comfortable going in and out of the house. For the safety of your guests, please ensure the outside light are working properly.

This home could us some updating and nicer amenities.
The home was nice and large but the amenities were not great. The beds were uncomfortable. The dishes were all dirty and nothing matched. The quality of the pots and pans, knives, etc. were not great. We were asked to wash the dishes, strip the beds, etc. upon leaving. A lot of money and work for what you receive.

Our stay was perfect! We’ll definitely return soon
Property was just as pictured. Nice, clean, and accommodating for a family of 12. I traveled to Memphis with family for a funeral and needed something more accommodating for my Grandma who can hardly walk around a hotel. This was perfect for her. I also traveled with 2 young kids who are very active. Getting the house was the best decision I could have made because they were free to run around and make as much noise as they please without disturbing others. Only request I have are outside lights. At night it was really dark and most of the outside lights were out.

Spacious, comfortable home
We traveled with another family and had plenty of room to spread out and then come together to play games. The children loved the pool and it was an easy drive to explore Memphis. Can’t say enough about Jan and her hospitality- she helped us find a tennis court and even dropped off a pasta strainer to help is out.

Fabulous, peaceful, restful and filled with fun!
Just before we arrived a very negative post showed up about this property. We experienced NONE of those issues. The property was SPOTLESS and our every need was met. In fact, our plans changed at the last minute and we informed the owner we were arriving after midnight. When we arrived (2am) she had the lights on, the AC perfect and she had picked up breakfast groceries (for which we reimbursed her). Our stay was perfect! The pool was heavenly and the three different thermostats let everyone sleep in temperatures that made them happy. If you are looking for a place that is lovely, quiet (though, be sure to ask when the grounds folks are scheduled) and accessible to Memphis (25 minutes), you’ve found your place. We will be back.

Not the greatest
Have tried to send this. Will tryagain...
The home was infested with ticks all around the pool. They were on us and in the pool.
The twin bedroom had bed bugs. When my daughter got home she had to go to immediate care and was diagnosed with bed bug bites. She was given medication. She was alarmed as they told her she could have brought some home.
We also found a petrified frog on the area rug in the other bedroom.

This home is larger than the pictures. The owner was great overall my stay was great.

Roomy and comfortable
There was plenty of room for our kids to run around on the large property. The house was large and comfortable. And each family had plenty of private space. Overall I would recommend staying here. There were a few things that could have made the stay better though.
The oven was overly complicated and never really worked properly for us which made cooking thanksgiving dinner a challenge. If the oven is actually in good working order instructions on use would be helpful for the next renter. Also during our stay there was someone working in and around the garage for a large part of the day time reducing our privacy.

Enjoyable!
We had great time staying at this beautiful home for nine days. The home itself has a wonderful layout. With large public spaces, huge living room and lots of dinning room seating. We had a family group of seven adults and one small dog. The best was a privet master with it’s own sitting room and separate temperature control. I didn’t think anyone would use the pool but almost everyone enjoyed it. The home is located in a beautiful residential setting close to the biggest and best stocked Krogger I have ever seen. We left new Jinga and Trivial Pursuit Games for future family fun. We didn’t watch much TV but there were three available. It was a very quick drive to the Memphis airport and Graceland. I enjoyed watching the jets. Barbara, our friendly host was outstanding!

Great location for a family get-together!
My family and I booked this home for a weekend to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday. There were 4 couples, 2 kids and one teen in our group and the sleeping arrangements worked perfectly for us. The location was central for all of us coming from Kentucky, Louisiana and flying into Memphis from Seattle.
The pool was nice and well kept--we all enjoyed it! There are lots of good seating options indoors and outdoors for mealtimes and visiting.
We cooked the majority of our meals at the house and found most everything that we needed on hand. There are a few suggestions of kitchen items that would have been helpful: cookie sheets (for homemade biscuits), water pitchers, an electric griddle, larger frying pans and larger pots (had to cook eggs and other dishes in batches due to the smaller sizes on hand), and an ice cream scoop. Thought it might be helpful to pass these suggestions along for future groups.
If we ever visit the area with a large group again we would not hesitate to rent this house again. Thank you for the enjoyable stay!
